  1. Yes, Allen blamed Wednesdayite (Supporters trust) He gave them 10% a few years ago, refuses to speak with them but wants them to give the shares back as they are holding the club back, as potential investors will only get 32% of shares from the board. Deadly Doug sold Villa to Randy Lerner with only 29% though. Never mind, roll on next season mediocrity
  2. "having no interest in football, and wishing to make a return on my investment within two years" Oh dear, exactly the same as our out going chairman We're fooked
  3. Evening Chaps, Wednesday have called a press conference for tomorrow afternoon, and rumors are that our unpopular chairman Dave Allen is selling his shares to Paul Gregg. Now I'm led to believe that he was involved with Everton and he was also disliked. My question is are we going from the frying pan into the fire?
  4. Evening Chaps, Just like to say thanks to Everton FC for the loan of Ian Turner. He came into the team at a time when confidence was low after a poor January through to the beginning of February, since then we have gone unbeaten and remarkably we are now only 2 points from the playoffs. Now I've followed Wednesday long enough to know not to get carried away as it will come to nothing, but with 2 games to go and be in with a shout is fantastic, especially when you look back to October when Paul Sturrock was sacked. We were only out of the relegation zone on goal difference. It's a shame Turner has been recalled due to the Man Utd game as I don't have any confidence in our number 2 (Chris Adamson and Mark Crossley has gone back to Fulham even though we are paying 1/2 of his wages) as we are away at Brum this week, but it was good while it lasted. So thanks again and lets hope that there's a chance we can get him on a season long loan in the summer.
  5. An anagram of Neil Warnock is Colin Wa*ker, says it all really.
  6. Turner's had a good game today in our win @ Cardiff. With the form he is showing I can't see us getting him next season even on a loan, never mind it's been good while it lasted. At least we look like we have the Sheffield derby to look forward to next season. THE PIGS ARE GOING DOWN
  7. Afternoon, Good result last night, looking good for Europe. I've heard that Wright was injured last night and Moyes is considering recalling Turner. Anybody shed any light on this?
  8. There's a few plastics at work, the last thing you want to hear at 6am is "did you see the game last night" smug, smug, smug. You'd think they're on th sick when they lose, quiet as mice
  9. Certainly are. I think it will be Luton, Southend & The Dingles that go down, but I'd swap Le*ds for The Dingles anyday. It's all to do with Le*ds reaching the CL semi's and us being sh*t (a bit like the last 300 years then) and gloating Le*ds fans ramming it down my throat. WHERE ARE YOU NOW AY!!!!!!! (sorry)
  10. Hopefully if this result stays the same it will get Ollie fired up and the green army go out on Saturday and beat Le*ds (I'm down on my knees praying)
  11. I know we're desperate for a keeper, but I'm not sure we're that desperate
  12. (the red filth have just scored by the way)
  13. That'll do for me. What are you all doing tonight by the way, reading some poetry? a bit of painting? nothing much on TV
  14. Evening all, Nice to see Lescott scoring last night (I have him in my fantasy team ) Just to let you know Turner has won the player of the month award for March.
  15. Morning All, It looks unlikely that Moyes will sell in the summer, a season long loan would do me but do you think this would hinge on Richard Wright staying? This was in the Sheffield Star: EVERTON manager David Moyes has dashed the Owls' hopes of landing Iain Turner on a full transfer. Moyes says that the keeper's future lies at Goodison Park and he will not be sold to Wednesday in the summer. The news will disappoint yet not surprise Brian Laws, who knew that Turner was rated highly by the Premiership club and that it would be difficult to prise him away. Moyes, who will have had the Scot watched while he has been on loan with the Owls, said: "Iain has done very well. We are very pleased with the reports on him. "He has a future with us. He is on loan and will return here." Laws, though regarding Turner as his preferred choice, had already made contingency plans, saying: "We need to sign a goalkeeper, if it's not Ian then it will be somebody else. We've whittled it down to four or five players." Turner has another two years on his Goodison Park contract. He has just begun a second month on loan with the Owls, who hope that he will also be able to stay with them for the whole of their remaining fixtures, though this depends whether Everton need him for their match against Manchester United on April 28: their keeper Tim Howard is on loan from United and cannot play in that game. Good luck on Monday.
  16. Did you see Brunt's 35 yard touchline lob? Makes going to work on Monday even sweeter
  17. I hope so, they'll get no favours in the "Premiership Graveyard" either. Better teams have gone down and failed in the 1st season. Coasting at 3-0 up, played 41 mins of the 2nd half with 10 men and in true Wednesday fashion we gift them an own goal in the 88' min, they score again and then we're hanging on
  18. Evening all, Turner's had a good game at Le*ds today, half a dozen top draw saves. If all goes well for the rest of the month do you think there's a chance we may get him for the rest of the season? Was willing you on today against the pigs.
  19. Cheers mate, a lot of Wednesday fans will probably reserve judgement though, especially as we had Brad Jones on loan from Boro earlier in the season *cough* sh*te *cough*
  20. Afternoon all, What can we expect from Turner will he do a job for us? We've gone from being the 3rd best form team @ Xmas to the worst team so as you can imagine confidence is in short supply, he may have to get used to bending down and picking he ball out of the net at the minute Why does football ruin a perfectly good weekend? Good luck against Watford.
  21. You might find this interesting, I got it from Owlszone I believe it's from the Sheffield Star: WEDNESDAY are raking in a guaranteed £2.5m from the sale of Madjid Bougherra to Charlton. The fee will climb even higher, as the deal with the Addicks includes provision for further payments linked to his future progress. The Owls also have a large sell-on clause. But while Wednesday are delighted from the business point of view, as the defender cost only £250,000 from French club Gueugnon last summer, he has left with a parting blast from Brian Laws as he gets set to sign for Charlton today. The Wednesday manager described the transfer saga as "a mess" and revealed that Bougherra had told the club that he would not play for them again if he did not get his move. Laws also launched fresh criticism of Charlton, who had an earlier £1.3m bid rejected, and said he believes the centre half has made the wrong choice in preferring the London outfit to Everton. Bougherra has revealed that he snubbed Everton - who then withdrew their undisclosed offer to Wednesday - because they wanted him to play in midfield: he wants to stick to centre half. Laws told The Star: "We didn't want to sell him. This move has been forced by him, his agents and Charlton more than anything. "The whole saga has been a mess. Charlton have never had the decency to give me a call. Everton were ultra-professional, and David Moyes spoke to me first because he wanted to speak to the player. "But when you hear the words coming from the player that he doesn't want to be at Sheffield Wednesday, then he shouldn't be here. We don't want any player who doesn't want to play for us. "His agents told the club, and Madjid told the chairman, that he would not play for us again if he did not get his move. He wanted to go, he begged to go. It put us in a difficult position. "We could have made him see out his contract. But we had a value, and we made Charlton pay that value if they wanted him that badly. "Good luck to Madjid; I wished him all the best but I think he's made the wrong choice. Charlton rather than Everton is a no-brainer - a player should be prepared to play anywhere. "Now we can move on and work with the players who want to be at Sheffield Wednesday." Laws has already had talks with chairman Dave Allen on how the Bougherra money could be spent but says he will not be rushed into signings before next Wednesday's deadline for the sake of it, and is prepared to wait until the summer if that's when the right player is available. Sounds like we're both better off without him!!
  22. Tell me about it, don't expect to see us anytime in the next 20 years in the "best league in the world"
