  1. Not good, whats with all the long balls?. On the odd occasion we play it on the floor we look alright but all too quickly revert back to aimless long balls to no one. We look clueless up front, not much movement. Could do with someone like Billy to come on that will actually run with the ball and take players on.

This is bloody WIGAN we are playing, we should be running rings around them. get the ball on the floor and play FOOTBALL. At the mo its like watching school kids.

As for links, plenty to choose from here >> http://myp2p.eu/broadcast.php?matchid=46998&part=sports << The top one (sopcast) works fine.

  2. I wanted Lescott to stay but honestly for that money its good business. Just be thankful that Arteta was injured otherwise he would have disappeared in the summer too.

Its sad that players dont show much loyalty these days. remember David Nugent who desperately wanted to join EFC, it would be nice if we could find a few players with his attitude as I cant see his sort being tempted away so easily.

Back to Lescott though, if we were offered 4 times as much money (or however much it is) to go to another job, I think we would (well, most of us). And it is his job afterall.

  3. Pienaar maybe ran a lot but didnt do much at all except gave the ball away, had a couple of piss weak shots (why cant he get power behind them?) and left Baines to cope with Bendtnar alone which resulted in the first goal.

Then again not much else to choose from. Fellaini wasnt the worst so I'll prob go with him or maybe Saha who did more in the short time he had than most others.

  4. I think we should have no less than 30 players in the squad if we are seriously going to make a go of it.

About a month ago I read that the Red Shite have 72 professionals on their books :o (which is insane) but they still won bugger all so there is no guarantee that a big squad equals success but then again one of our size doesnt help the situation.

As I said, 30 should be about right.

  5. You know when Man Utd play the likes of Newcastle Utd or Sheff Utd and start singing UNITED, UNITED etc. Well I've always found that a bit odd and silly.

AND so to my point, being that isnt us saying Come On You Blues when we are about to play "the blues" of Chelsea tantamount to the same silliness???.

    Just a thought.

Anyway, COME ON YOU BLUES :D

  6. Villa have been faltering for 3 months and I reckon they will continue to. They seem to be missing Laursen significantly and have been leaking goals without him. I think provided we take the points where we should (at home) and a point (at least) at Sunderland then we'll grab 5th! Big if's maybe with the cup distraction (as mentioned earlier). COYB

Never mind Villa, Fulham are just 6 points behind us now after we lost to City. At least Chelseas win means we are Guaranteed European football next season.

Still be nice to finish 5th but we hardly have a great record when it comes to the tail end of the season.

  7. I was thinking this morning I love supporting everton because we are a growing club and because we are eternal underdogs who suceed even in adversity. I also love us because our players are not all superstars and we have a maneger that turns good players in to very good players. I love that we come up against Chelsea's moneybags and are able to come close to beating them. I am not sure if we won the league every year or if we had Man city's money I would enjoy being a fan as much.

    Whats your thoughts

Eternal underdogs??. I assume you are young and dont recall the 80's. Even in the 70's when we werent successful we were always one of the favourites to win this or that.

We are one of the most succesful clubs in England. Eternal underdogs my arse. :P

  8. The runners up in the FA Cup no longer get a place in Europe even if the winners have already qualified.

My understanding was that the runner up of the League Cup no longer got a place. The FA Cup you do if the winner is in the Chumps League. SO yes we are there but I dont think Moyes will be resting players, He'll want that 5th place.

  9. Any info about Rome and KO time would be REALLY appreciated! COYB!!!!!!!!!!

    ************

Kick off I would guess to be at either 2pm or 4pm Rome time (just keep your watch on UK time and you'll know when 3pm comes).

As for a venue I remember being there and watching Man Utd v EFC (1st game of the season when Rooney departed) at some bar just north of the colluseum. Dont have address but managed to find a bar and didnt know where I was going at the time.

I saw a few bars that showed football but the game I saw was on a Sunday and therefore was more difficult but on a Saturday you'll have no probs.

I noticed a couple of UK and/or Irish bars too and they will surely show it (I believe one of them was on Via Nazionale) but I could be wrong.

Just ask and they will help you. If you say youre from Liverpool you may get a funny look but as soon as you tell them you support Everton and hate the R/S they will love you and look after you.

  10. Dont think you could say anyone was poor yesterday. A few average performances but thats it. MotM could go to a number of players really but my vote went to Jagielka (and not just for the winning penalty). He was great in defence and I was found muttering to myself after a couple of his challenges "fuck, he's good".

BTW how good was it that they played Z-CARS at the end with the crowd all joining in with their "der, ner, ner's" and "la, la, la's". Much better than the cringe worthy grand old team (although it does sound OK when the crowd sing it but that recording should be binned).

  11. For the 1995 final I was in Australia and went to a Man Utd supporters club do to watch the game with mate who was an Arsenal fan. I was the only blue there of about 150 (plus a scattering of the odd neutral who were blues for the night). I'm quite surprised I survived the night unscathed. Great night though, a few ales, kick off at midnight, and the odd song here and there to wind up the mancs.

They really thought all they had to do was just show up and it was their trophy that day. Nev was on fire if memory serves, Limpar had a good game too. Oh happy days. :)

  12. If you'd have said that about Christmas I couldn't argue, it (Easter) has nothing to do with any pagan ceremony but then if you have not been taught better what can people expect

    Oh dear.

Easter does have pagan origins. Something to do with the spring equinox and a fertility festival.

I would like to know how you actually account for the Easter Bunny being part of a Christian festival?. The bunny (or hare) is to do with the fertility and is directly from pre-christian traditions.

And as for eggs and resurrection its all about Spring and the rebirth of life/crops etc. (which was nicely tweaked as the rebirth Christ).

But you just keep your mind closed to such ideas, wouldnt want to upset your God with common sense.

  13. Pienaar was by no means faultless but deserves MOTM, he looked our most creative player.

Cahill was solid enough in midfield. Fellaini was good in parts. Hibbert had a bit of a torrid time, didnt deserve his yellow card (and neither did Neville) both from Ashley Young dives.

Jo was ordinary, only seems to perform well at Goodison.

Anyway, Pienaar for me (and I'm not his greatest fan so he mustve been decent to get my vote).

  14. ASHLEY YOUNG is a diving cheat. How does he get away with so many???.

The ref fell for a few but at least he didnt fall for Youngs dive in the penaly box early in the 2nd half.

By the way Hibberts yellow card in the first half was after an Ashley Young dive too. I hate him.

At least the co-commentator was on his case in suggesting Young should get the soles of his boots sponsored.

  15. In the christian calander, Easter Sunday is the holiest day of the year.

The fact that Everton were founded by a reverand should carry weight, but even if it doesn't there is also the church in the corner of the stadium to consider. Easter Sunday in there would be disrupted by a load of footy fans the other side of the wall.

You do realize we are playing at Villa Park and not Goodison dont you?
