I would say that if Moyes had every player within the squad fit and up to speed
in the prem then the likes of:Cahill, Pienaar, Baines, Vaughan, Jagielka and McFadden
not to mention Fernandes would be more than just looking in!
Mix that lot or two or three of them into the team were going to look better than
today.
Today was Moyes after an opening day win with what he'd got fit and ready, and he
just about pulled it off.
He can't have been pleased with all those waisted balls forward....nor can AJ.
Didn't we throw away the lead to Wigan twice at home last season?...2-2 I think!

I kinda agree with you, with the exception of Cahill. Cahill is a great goal scorer, but again wastes pocession a lot also. But in the end of the day, we need Fernandes asap!

I can't help thinking that the way Moyes sets the team up to play, is nullifying our strengths. Today game was an perfect example of a dire match, but good result. Against better teams though, long aimless balls from midfield and general lack of invention may cos us dearly! A fluid passing game, with Pienaar and Arteta pulling the strings will only improve us, opposed to the clearly lacking dogs of wars in the middle (Neville/Carsley) giving the ball happily away.

It was a typically poor Everton game, but only because Moyes likes to play it that way. Carsley must go as he simply isn't good enough, and Pienaar looks very good. But a win is a win, just hope Fernandes and Yakubu can join our ranks to boost the quality.

definitely see your point it this. could be some truth in it as well. if someone of yak's skill had mikky and timmy (fingers crossed on manny as well) supplying them from behind and partnering with johnson (who we all know is class) and maybe even vaughn and vic then we'd have one of the best groups of strikers/attacking mids in the premiership
Don't know about that but we would have a very good squad yes! Maybe we will start to play adventurous football eh?

i wud have just lee carsley and and bench phil neville although i lik him i prefer carsley as a defensive mid. moyes wouldnt bench his captain tho.
Are you mad? Neville is a far better defensive midfielder, at least he is two footed and more mobile than Jan Molby wanna be Carsley. As for a new Goal keeper, I have faith in Turner.

Spurs vs Everton, 2000 at White Shite Lane. Everton went two nil up thanks to Jeffers and Nyako. Then a series a defensive errors, poor tactics from Smith, then Hughes coming on to negate our own attack contributed to a very depressing end. Second worst was Manchester City vs Everton, when we got stuffed 4 - 0. Shocking!

i also heard that alot of the sky money went to the debt along with the installments to AJ lescott and the payment for howard. then we paid for baines and jags. so thats alot of money gone.
If thats true then the stories of ten million transfer bids are bollocks! To be honest, I would be more than happy with Yabuku only this summer.

most teams now have a settled squad and have showed their hands in the transfer market.
other teams who were after yakubu, if various news sources are correct, included pompey, spurs and aston villa.
these teams have all brought strikers and are no longer in the market for one. maybe moyes didnt want to get dragged into a bidding war and was also waiting to offload james meattie.

Come on people, let us engage the brain God give us and think for a second. The Sky TV money has been with us for two months now, yet the club was scrimping around for free or cheap transfers. Now the vote papers are upon some of us, and the stories of sensational transfers are flying through the roof tops. On my way home from work, I was listening to Henry Winter saying clubs use the press to get the fans on side. And I maintain that we can not have 19 million to spend, when allegedly we have a budget of ten million! If so then why struggle to sign the likes of Vogel! We consistently been lied to by the board, yet naturally as supporters we get excited when we are linked to great players. The club knows this, hence my deep suspicions!

Stop thinking about the past, the fact is they now have a competent manager who knows what the fuck he is doing and I imagine them having a new mega rich owner probably helped him to see that he may end up with better players around him, therefore showing more ambition. It's unfair to just say he went there for the money, unless your his personal bum scratcher or something.

How do you know Smith only went there for the money? How do you know he didn't go there because he genuinely felt they have more ambition than us?
Because Newcastle record over the last five seasons has been far worse than ours, so the only logical conclusion is he went for the money!
