  1. They both need visas, but since Arshavin is a first team National Team, it should not be a problem to get one. As for Dudu, he is brazilian, and also needs a visa. He was a regular in the National team last year. I read somewhere that if he was to come to the EPL and there is an issue with his visa, Dunga would help out by writting a letter.

Having them both at Everton, would be amazing!

  2. We should buy Thiago Neves, he currently plays for Fluminense, Brazil. Great midfielder with a great left foot. Instead of spending money on Fernandes or Käsltrom, buy him. He's someone with a lot of potential, and in a few years will be worth some serious money. Another one is Renato Augusto, but I think Man U or Liverpool are already getting ready to buy him.

  3. Age 31, at Barcelona now. Had a really nice run at Atletic Bilboa but hasn't really figured for Barcelona. I don't know if it would be a free transfer or a loan but I don't see Moyes paying big money for him. I can imagine he'd like to play and if his wages aren't ridiculous I'd think we'd have him for the season.

I think he would come on a free transfer as he is out of a contract in the summer, and he is not really in Barcas plans for the future.

but do we need another striker??? i dont think he is going to come to sit on the bench, i'd rather give play time to Vic and Vaughn.

  4. me too, I agree with Yorkshire as well. I'd rather bank the money from McFadden and pay whatever it takes to get Appiah, someone who genuinely would give us that driving force in the middle of the park - he and Fernandes could be awesome together. Cahill's goal record is phenomenal and he has more to his game than that, Arshavin is totally unproven in this league and most people on here have probably hardly seen him play. Cahill has proven time and time again how important he is to Everton and he has basically (with help) turned our season around, since he's come back into the team we've been absolutely flying and winning games left, right and centre. I can't believe the mentality of some fans, Cahill is brilliant for us, there's a lot more players in our team who need replacing before he does.

    Well said!!

  5. JUST LOVE TO GET THIS FELLA £8M SEEMS A SNIP. dont try and tell me he wouldnt do Cahills job better

Cahill in 15 games has 8 goals, and some of those games he played in the midfield in the 442 position, and his best position is just behind Yak. How can you say Arshavin would do better job then Cahill?? Also, Arshavin has been playing all his life in the Russian league, against russian defenders, dont you think he would need time to adjust?

  6. i cant believe anyone would want to replace timmy, and questioning his work rate? i am baffled!

I agree. Why would you be thinking of bringing a replacement for Timmy when there are other positions that need improvement.

I'd say only bring Arshavin if he is a good option for the midfield.

  7. Two new names from Miscreant Man on the betfair forum.

We know these guys from Chelsea and Portugal. What do you all think? Maniche has only played 24 games since 2006 for Atletico Madrid and Tiago is not a regular with Juventus either which surprises me. On loan deals they would be shrewd business the pair of them, tidy on the ball and good technically. Tiago would be a good holding midfielder in particular, and both aware of what the Premiership is about (albeit Maniche with only 8 games).

Personally I would be quite pleased if these lads came in on loan deals, would see us through nicely and add more depth.

I think it would be a waste of time.

  8. Andrei Arshavin (Russian: Андрей Сергеевич Аршавин) (born May 29, 1981 in Leningrad) is a Russian international footballer. He is the top player of the Russian Premier League team Zenit St. Petersburg. He can play both as a midfielder and as a striker.

Andrey Arshavin graduated from Smena football school. In 1999 and early 2000 he played for Zenit's farm club, Zenit-2, in the Second Division.

In 2000 he was included in Zenit squad. He played in various positions on the field, starting as a right midfielder, then as an attacking midfielder and finally as a striker. He won the Russian Premier League Award for the player of the season largely because of his ability play well as a winger, playmaker and as a striker. He is known for superb pace, dribbling qualities, vision, technique and passing. These attributes and his hard working nature have turned him into one of the most important players for club and country.

Arshavin scored 11 goals in his 25 matches for Zenit in the UEFA Cup. He debuted for the national team on May 17, 2002 in a match against Belarus. On March 24, 2007 he was the Russia captain in a Euro 2008 qualifier against Estonia.

    Taken from Wikidepia (where else)

I've put in bold the attributes I believe its exactly why we should be going after this lad as well as the points I made previous up top!!

Yeah! he is a guy who can win one on ones, good passing and great finishing.

There are loads of videos with his highlights on youtube, just search for his name.

  9. Pienarr and Arteta arnt fowards are they even if he is versitile he may be poor in midfield + theres the cost around about 11m which is our recored transfer and we probably dont have that much.

I dont think we'd be getting him to play as a forward; and I think he would do great in the midfield. I thought we were bidding around £7m or £8m, if they want £11m then i dont see this happening.

  10. he looked good for zenit @ Goodison, he played off the striker then if i remember correctly?

is that his natural position, or can he play wide?

Apparently he is quite versatile and can play wide.

Would be an awesome midfield if we had him along with Arteta and Manny, but I am probably dreaming. Newcastle also wants to buy him.
