  1. Well personally Ithink this would be a nightmare, and I cant think of any player anywhere in the world who could replace Arteta and who would be available for £15M

I agree, but if we are going to lose him someday, Manny + £15M sounds like a really good deal; Manny's value might go up quite a bit once he gains more experience in the Premiership.

  2. This is from wikipedia, not always the most reliable source, but it explain Fernandes situation well.

"Global Sports Investment owned 50% of Manuel Fernandes transfer rights and hence, this is one of the reasons as to why his potential transfer to Everton FC, had become so complicated. Another reason is because the English Premier League did not agree to the transfer as Everton would only half own Fernandes' contract. Everton were not too happy about this as the Premier League had let Anderson Luís de Abreu Oliveira, Carlos Tevez and Javier Mascherano move to other Premier League clubs under the same agreements.

However, on August 26, Fernandes opted to sign a six-year contract for Valencia in a deal worth up to £10 million to Benfica, with Global Sports Investment keeping their 50% share"

If GSI still owns 50% of Fernandes, it will be difficult to bring him unless it is on loan.

  3. From SkySports

    "Transfers

Speaking of potential transfer targets in the January transfer window, Moyes outlined his plans.

"We're a little bit short maybe in one area and if the right player was available I'm sure we'd look to do something but it would be more likely to be a loan player than a buy," he said.

"I'm very happy with the players we've got. The way they've played this season, they are getting better."

It sounds that we should not expect much transfer action this Jan.

  4. Everton will sign Niko Kranjcar and Manuel Fernanes in the January transfer window for a total of £25 million. Mcfadden is on his way out of Everton to Celtic for £6 Million. Steven Pienaar will sign in the Summer for £2 million – what a bargain.

With injury prone defenders and four others off to the African Cup of Nations, Everton will strengthen with Dario Simic, Manuel Fernandes and Eddie Johnson – all loan deals.

That is from http://www.football-rumours.com/, the biggest joke site. Everyday they write something different, they have already written that Everton would sell Yakubu, Anichiebe, Vaughn, johnson, Arteta, Cahill, Neville, McFadden. They've also linked us with half of Europe. I am sure they will end up getting it right, but what is the point in reading or posting their crap?

  5. I agree with CraccerC, I dont think Riquelme would be a good sign, he would want a massive salary; it would take time and patience for him to adapt to English football, and not to mention English language and lifestyle. We also won't get 100% commitment all the time. So in my view there are more bads then goods in signing him.

I'd still like to see Fernandes here, Hoyte would be good.

Anichiebe for Lita??? that would make no sense at all!!

  6. We are one midfielder away from being a top 4 club, i really believe that, lets wait till january to see if Kenwright and Moyes want to push on to the next level.

One midfielder? Did you watch the game yesterday against Chelsea? It felt like we had no midfield and we could only come close to Chelsea's goal with long balls. I'd say, we are 2 midfielders away; I know Arteta didn't play yesterday, but we can't just rely on him. Osman has played well, but I think this is as good as he will ever get, he has good finishes but we need someone more creative, better on one on ones, and better passing; we have to get someone else better to move him down and put him on the bench. Same goes for Pienaar, he has surprised me and adds depth to the team, but to be a top 4 club, we need better. Not to mention right back, Hibbert is just not good enough.

  7. oh my god Diego would be top notch,

and diarra was a snip at £2m

You can forget about Diego, if he leaves Werder most likely to go to one of the big clubs, Real Madrid, Milan, and they're ready to pay top money for him.

Everton should've gone for Elano, look what he's done so far! £8mil, would've been the perfect guy to play next to Arteta and just behind Cahill!!!!Still in Brazil, there are some really good guys, Lulinha, 17, from Corintians (Totenham interested), and also Kerlon from Cruzeiro. Not to metion Renato Augusto, from Flamengo, that Liverpool is already trying to buy.

Moyes should go for them while they are still in Brazil, but he won't!! I should just stop dreaming, and go back to reality, we got Osman, Hibbert, Neville, all starting!

  8. People are forgetting how well Yobo played in the first half. If it wasn't for him, Everton would've been down at least by 2 going into 2nd half. He kept us in the game, and gave us the chance to at least get a point. Well done Yobo!!

  9. For those who dont know him, Vagner Love, 23, has been getting a lot of calls for the Brazilian national team since Dunga took over, but in my opinion has not done much (I'm brazilian, and been watching him closely). In 19 games, he has 8 goals. He had only 1 goal in the Copa America, and he played 90mins in every game except one. He might grow to be a great player, but probably not soon. If Everton decides to buy him, I hope he proves me wrong, and I hope they don't spend too much money, as there are better strikers out in the market; but that is just my opinion.
