  1. oh you have a sense of humour too, did your son give you that one?

    No not my son but my father. and the holy ghost gave me this one;

WHY DID JESUS CROSS THE ROAD???.........

    ?

    ?

    ?

    ?

    ?

    ?

    ?

    ?

    ?

    ?

    ?

    ?

    ?

    ?

BECAUSE HE WAS NAILED TO A CHICKEN.

(how many hail mary's does that warrant?).

  2. Beware! I'm usually good at this.

    1. ARSENAL (deserve to be top as they play the most attractive football)

    2. MAN UTD

    3. CHELSEA

    4. BLACKBURN (looking quite solid this year)

    5. ASTON VILLA

    6. LIVERPOOL (Jammy! they'll deserve to finish about 8th but with refs on side will be further up the table).

    7. EVERTON (depends on how we do when African Nations Cup is on)

    8. MAN CITY

    9. PORTSMOUTH

    10. NEWCASTLE

    11. WEST HAM

    12. TOTTENHAM

    13. READING

    14. SUNDERLAND (had a bit of bad luck but I like the look of that Jones lad, great header of the ball).

    15. BIRMINGHAM

    16. FULHAM (dont like 'em but they'll prob stay up).

    17. MIDDLESBROUGH (again might just scrape through).

    18. BOLTON (may end up 4th bottom but I dont like them so hope they go down).

    19. WIGAN

    20. DERBY (arent they relegated yet).

  3. I'm very glad to see most people here have the good sense to realize religion is a load of garbage. If you believe so be it, just dont try and impose it on others (not saying anyone is here mind).

AND to any religious types, answer me this. If The Devil is the "great deceiver" how do you know that the person you pray to and worship isnt the Devil and he's just been conning everyone for centuries?. Given that religion has been the cause of so many wars and bloodshed it sort of makes sense that the Devil is running the show. Dont you think.

Didnt the Holy Roman Church start around the same time as the Roman Empire collapsed? Coincidence? I think not. Its just another business full of bullies designed to keep the masses under control by instilling fear into them (about hell and such).

    I think I'll stop now.

  4. Has to be Mourinho if The FA are serious about wanting to win something. Love him or loathe him, he is the best.

As for the not allowed to be England Manager. Probably more like not allowed to be England manager while at Chelsea which would now be null and void. Or maybe he signed something about not managing another English club, but England is a different kettle of fish.

Croatia played England off the park. All we were doing was lobbing long balls in. And at 2-1 down with about half an hour to go (plenty of time) we were running round like headless chickens as if it was the last minute. Terrible.

After Sven most wanted an English manager, now we see how crap they are. So lets get Jose in.

  5. i heard tonight there is a small possibility of a repeat vote, and there is growing pressure on kenwright to take more notice of potential buyers, and its BK and KW feeling the pressure for a second vote.

and a little "i told you soo", take a look at the accounts, particularly the advertising section and the turnover section.

I think a second vote is completely justified. If these tesco pictures were released when the 1st vote took place I am certain more people would have voted NO and I am even more certain that those that were sitting on the fence and chose not to vote would have been motivated by these pictures to Vote NO!

Bestway / Loop site despite appearing fanciful is looking more attractive by the minute.

  6. From what I've seen Vic and Vaughan seem to be our best strikers but it is true that Vic does perform better when coming on as sub.

Yakubu has done OK I supposebut looks the least likely to score out of the 3.

Then theres AJ. More of a work horse than a finisher. The way we play suits the other 3 by far. If we play 2 up front then AJ is useful. But if we play 1 up front then it has to be one of the other 3 (preferably Vaughan or Vic).

  7. right you think thats bad. i work in chester cathedral and we order our xmas stuff in january, it arrives in august and we put it out mid-september. and the church complains that xmas is commercial.

The church stole the Christmas holiday period from the pagans so it seems fitting that its stolen back off them (albeit to capitalists).

  8. Not at all, I couldnt care less where the council boundry lies.

We are making a massive mistake business wise by moving from a city under major redevelopment to some waste ground on the edge of town. Boro, Derby, Bolton all horrible places to go and once you loose the passion in your crowd in a new stadium it all falls apart. Look at Bolton's 18,000 attendance last week!!

We must keep everton an active part if the city not an outskirts spectator watching anfield get a string of sporting events & concerts. They are the bastard son's of Everton why should we surrender the city and give them all that earning potential??

I hear what youre saying but Goodison is hardly "In the City" as such is it.

Makes the loss/mismanagemant of Kings Dock all the more painful.

  9. Generally its pretty quiet with regard to the stadium move. Are LCC actually trying to sort something out for EFC within the boundaries?. And more to the point, would EFC bother to listen to any proposals anyway?

It seems to me that the main gripe Evertonians have with Kirkby is the fact its within Knowsley Borough Council and not LCC.

NOW I have just read something on Toffeweb that I didnt realise which was that the land for the proposed site is actually owned by LCC and not Knowsley.

So, HYPOTHETICALLY speaking, IF the LCC boundary was extended to include the site but the running of the site (including any financial benefits) was somehow handed to Knowsley BC, would this appease us? Would this be a suitable compromise???.

Maybe its a silly idea but sort of works for me. However I dont think the 2 councils would compromise, or would they?

  10. A man has been placed on the sex offenders’ register after being caught trying to have sex with a bicycle.

He is not the first man to be convicted of a sexual offence involving an inanimate object, however.

Karl Watkins, an electrician, was jailed for having sex with pavements in Redditch, Worcs, in 1993.

Not the first person to have sex with the Town Bike

As for the other bloke, He was just sick of women treating him badly and for a change wanted somebody that he could walk all over.:rolleyes::rolleyes:

  11. What did we learn tonight...?

Anichebe - not our most sophisticated forward but most effective possibly.

McFadden - worked very hard but clearly isn't a target man (unlike Big Vic)

Graveson - some lovely interchanges with Mikel but headless (surprise suprise). Off the pace but to be fair hasn't played much. Disappointing.

Pienaar - good little player, some nice touches

Lescott - show me a better attacking centre back in the country?

Baines - quality going forward gives us a totally new dimension. Can get caught out of position in defense though.

Arteta - thought he was a little flashy tonight without much end result. Does some amazing stuff but thought he was playing about with it a bit too much tonight.

Osman - I'm his biggest critic but he was good tonight. Kept ball very well and awesome goal!

The goal we conceeded. Stupid. Unlike Howard to be so daft.

I really felt in the second half we were lacking a captain (and not shitty Neville). We really need a Viera, Keane type player.

Final mention is to Carsley who is without a doubt our best defensive midfielder. We are so much more solid wih him.

What!! No mention for Cahill :o Theres a saying "Credit where credits due'.

For me he was excellent tonight. Did in 14 minutes what AJ took about 500 minutes to do this season and played a big part in the second goal. A bit of a cliche but He gives us a different dimension.

And to think there were idiots on this forum in the off season suggesting that we sell him to get 2 midfielders in his place. Cahill is worth 3 Nevilles, 4 Jagielkas and about 8 Van der Meydes.

  12. I too had a dream.....well more of a nightmare because we totally outplayed them but Arteta missed a penalty and Gerrard won it in the dying seconds. :@

But I still think we'll win this one 1-0 Yobo,Neville or Hibbert with the goal to shut everyone up :D

I had a dream an all. We won either 1-0 or 2-0, and there was a penalty in my dream too (except Howard Kendall took it???).

But the match was abandoned because some players crawled under a fence? EH!!!?? What the fuck that meant I dont know. AND NO!! I havent been taking drugs.

I woke in pain as I had cramp in my left calf.

Back to reality, we have a great chance to win this one and I expect Everton to scrape through just.

I hope Tim Cahill gets a run in this one, our midfield needs someone like him and I expect Yakubu would benefit from having him in the side.

Dont forget to wear your lucky undies today!

  13. CLOCKWISE,

I fail to see how it could be seen to got the other way.

The article says most people see it going Anti-Clockwise but a recent survey of the toffetalk forum sees 80% see it going clockwise, 20% undecided and 0% see it going anti-clockwise.

    Feel gozzy now.

  14. This is a pointless exercise but I've got to amuse myself somehow.

The Q's below are mainly of significance to those that remember the 1970's.

Not exclusive that you swung one way or the other but most of us from that era had a preference. What was yours?

    1- Tiswas OR Muti-Coloured Swap-Shop?

2- Grandstand with Frank Bough OR World of Sports with Dickie Davies?

3- Radio City OR Radio Merseyside?

4- The blonde OR the brunette from Abba?

5- Headers and Volleys OR 'Wembley' OR 2 touch?

6- Gerald Sinstadt OR Brian Moore?

7- The Dandy OR The Beano?

8- Roy of the Rovers OR Billys Boots?

    9- Subbuteo OR Striker?

    10-Giant Haystacks or Big Daddy?

    11-Bruce Forsythe OR Larry Grayson.

    Me? well 1-Swap Shop. 2-Grandstand. 3-Radio City. 4-The Blonde. 5-Headers and Volleys. 6-Tough one..er, Gerald I think.

7-Liked both..maybe Beano but couldnt stand Corky the Cat. 8-Billys Boots. 9-Again both good but probably Striker. 10-Definitely Giant Haystacks. Big Daddy looked like he might have smelled funny. 11-Deffo Brucie.

Well that fucking wasted 5 minutes of my life!

  15. Should we have a Home nations tournament?

Seemingly the fa have already shot themselves in the foot - http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/i...als/6981446.stm

England should not have names on shirts until we qualify, not many other countries do :|

ABSOLUTELY, as a young lad the home internationals were actually a bit of a highlight of the summer holidays. Kept us football fans going during the off season.

  16. Just trawling through the internet and found this, just thought I'd share it.

When aksked with his Midlands roots and home in Germany, where his heart lies-

Our Big Bob said "I might have started at Birmingham," he says, "but my soul is at Goodison."

    What a legend!!

Also read that Andy King is one of our scouts, is this true?????????????????

  17. I came into work this monring and read thw whole metalist thread from last night and you people who call for moyes to be sacked are a joke!!!

We weren't rubbish we were avreage and we did enough to get through!!!

I wouldn't mind if everyone slated the team for playing bad but you pick out players like Yak and Jags and say they aren't worthy to wear the shirt. B@llocks!!!! they had an off day and now you want them dropped when last week when Yak scored against Sheff wed AJ needed to be dropped.

The biggest joke is the slating of Beattie. He worked hard for the team but couldn't get a goal so he had to go. Now Yak doesn't work hard but scores the odd goal he isn't worthy.

Grow up and support your team. they are currently winning despite your crap support not because of it.

Cant believe I missed this topic.

How can you say we werent rubbish?????. Did you watch the game? The first half display was prob one of the worst Ive seen us play.

Yakubu was crap, Jags was crap. If you couldnt see that then I believe you probably dont get football and were probably last to be picked for the team at school or wherever.

You say "Grow up and support your team". Does our motto NIL SATIS NISI OPTIMUM mean nothing to you??????????????????

Perhaps Nothing but average is good enough in your eyes but some of us want nothing but the best.

  18. (1) EVERTON

    (2) Liverpool

    (3) Southport, Blackpool, Chester. Simply because we used to go on days out to these places and I developed a soft spot for the places rather than the teams really. I agree with some other people on here about Arsenal, got to respect their style of play.

Also developed an irrational dislike for Torquay purely because it annoyed me that just about every week during the classified results, their result was a "latest" score due to a Late Kick off. (See, I said it was irrational).

  19. Whether its the kids fault or not. Gerrard should be held liable for injuring the young kid and must be charged as well.

Thats the single most idiotic statement I've heard from anyone for a long time.

What you are basically saying is even if it is the kids fault Gerrard should be held liable and charged. :o

Surely the people at fault should be held liable and not the faultless ones.

Imagine this scenario; A burglar breaks into your house and slips in your kitchen and breaks a limb or cuts himself on a knife you left lying about. Not your fault but you should be held liable and charged. You should be locked up, but mainly for your stupidity.

  20. 2. In your posts here I read some insulting things like "mentalists" and stuff like that. Do you know how our fans welcomed yours?- I bet none of you would dare to say something bad!

That was a harmless play on words and I'm sure wasnt meant to be offensive in any way.

Put it down to humour not translating.

I think the MENTALIST joke stems from a comedy show I'm Alan Partridge.

    Here have a look

    or the full version

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u3YUlcyPXLo

Honestly, no offence was meant, its just a funny term and happened to be similar to your team name of Metalist.
