Witsel.
This happened a couple of hours ago : http://i29.tinypic.com/33e1wfd.gif
Don't think he'll be transferred during what will probably be a long long suspension ..
wow thats as bad a broken leg as i think I have ever seen on the field. Hope the lad recovers.
-
rodders for me, very impressive, just wish he had hit the target with that sitter
If fellaini had started and played like that all game then he would have won it hands down.
-
strange this thread pops up now as i think hes had a poor couple of games and hasnt started the season aswell as he ended it...granted not many have as its been a shocker but baines has been at fault for a couple goals if ya ask me! he is class though and needs to score a couple more i reckon! better than bridge id say though so why he doesnt get in england squad is beyond me...
I agree, while he seems great going forward, our left side has been a bit exposed lately. Might be a carryover effect from losing Lescott as he provided a lot of cover for baines.
don't see why we attack almost exclusively down the left either, when Hibbert had a few chances to send the ball in he got it spot on!
-
If its true modric has broke his leg against birmingham then I think we can forget this one.
-
surely to get a work permit their has got to be some involvement from the player, signing the bottom of a form at least.
If its true that this has all gone ahead without Valencia knowing, then moyes is the worlds biggest hypocrite.
wtf is going on???
-
We're not Liverpool or United so this will go tits up, which is shit because he'd be a good player for us to bring in .
The Croatian fella, Kalinić who signed for blackburn got a work permit and he has only played 2 national team games.

I remember Burnley signing a young ecuadorian who needed a work permit too.
Would Peterlin have needed one?
-
no don't ban him, i wanna see the reactions after do the double over them this season.

Of course what i'm saying is WOULD EVERTON HAVE DONE ANYTHING DIFERENT??? OF COURSE NOT. AND YOU AND THE REST OF YOUR FANS WOULD BE LOVING IT.
to a degree mate and it would certainly be exciting. But I am not sure I would be totally happy with the heart and soul being ripped out of my club. I have seen the team really steady improve of the last few years and I wouldn't want to replace all those guys with mercenaries.
City encompass everything that is wrong with modern football. They are not building success they are purely and simply buying it, even moreso than Chelsea did. Under Thaksin in the last two years you made a lot of big money, quality signings that really improved your team like Elano, Caicedo, Bojinov, Jo and Petrov. All those blokes have now been shown the door, how is that building success??
Yes Everton probably need investment to consistently break the top 4, but we have built ourselves into a position where really would not have to be that much. We are probably only a few good players away from being consistently up there, unlike city who are almost unrecognizable from a few short years ago.

Any idea what the off field shenanigans were about?
they involved nudity, a webcam and a lil self pleasure..
-
8 million pound asset?? This journos a donkey.
The very essence of market value in any industry, is the price people are willingly to pay for a product.. which in Lescott's case is quite clearly more than 8 mill. In a football world where glen johnsons are going for 18 and john terrys for 40, there is no way J-Lo is worth 8!
-
Some (including myself) say that one of Moyes failings has been the lack of opportunities given to the youth. Ok we can't expect a youth player to perform well for 38 games, but Coleman is 22 and looks the business - well far better than Hibbert anyway. And because we can't afford to buy a pot to hiss in it's all hands to the pump, give him a go I say!
are sure he is 22? I remember reading he was only 20 when we bought him earlier this year..
I definitely agree about giving him a crack tho.
-
The only one I would even consider selling is big Vic and that's because we have good depth and we play only one up front.
I don't know why so many people want to get rid of osman, he would be a fantastic squad player, its just unfortunate he's currently in our best 11. Scored plenty of critical goals for us.
-
The overall picture is important, but the biggest club is not necessarily the right one for me.
I hope that statement is genuine and he is not just another M'bia, wanting to sign for the most glamorous club available to him.
-
Because this way Lescott won't go til the final day and we won't have time to bring a replacement in and the money will have disappeared come January, it's happened before.
Like the McFadden transfer..
-
The thing that pisses me off about the Lescott scenario is that if we were willingly to sell him for around 20m, why did we not convey that to city when they came in with their first offer. Instead of messing around until the season has nearly started, meaning that any new players will have no pre-season.
I hope he stays.
-
I'd try and get Arda Turan here, he is absolute class down the right hang side from what I have seen and heard.
Failing that I would try and prise SWP away from city.
-
watched most of the game 2day, and he looked good, the commentators wouldnt shut up about him. his passing and vision was very good, a good throw and also puts in a good ball, he's tall as well which would help our midfield imo. played on the left, and probs is alot better on the right, he was still the best player on the pitch by a mile thou. btw he scored a well taken penalty aswell as a lofted ball which misled the keeper and ended up goin in.
papers were calling him the Swedish delap, is his throw that good?
-
does he play on the right at all?
-
If he is looking for first team football, we aren't the right club.
-
If Jags and Yobo signed new deals and we are looking at a CB, could that mean we are considering offloading lescott to Citeh?? I certainly hope not.
-
Alves and Howard are from the American continent. I'm going to think about my team and will post up in a bit. The best team, based on continent, would easily be Europe at the moment, very very closely followed by Africa. South American football has slumped a little bit recently.
I think europe would have the greatest depth, but I think you could definatlet make an argument for south america having a stronger starting 11. Kaka, robinho and messi up front would be hard to beat.
-
Which continent do you think could produce the strongest team??
-
as good as he looks, surely an attacking midfielder would be quite low on our shopping list!
-
The Pieman.....................IMO his best game for us, he scored a magnificent goal 8/10 MOM for me
So you are saying in all the time Stevie P has been he has never played better than 8/10?????

haha he vows to stay once he realizes no one is coming to save him, stayed pretty quite while speculation was rife
