Oh! I totally agree with you on the specifics! I think that we don't need Bentley at all since the right side already has a number of competent candidates available.
We should be aiming for quality not competence I would love to see Bentley sign. If we had Bily, Pienaar or Bentley sitting on the bench that could only be a positive thing

The Mirror linking us with a swoop for 16yr old left winger
"Everton boss David Moyes has set up a surprise swoop for England youth winger Alex Henshall - as well as plotting new faces for his first team.
Moyes is in the lead to land the 16-year-old sensation from Swindon. Henshall dazzled in the recent prestigious Milk Cup tournament in Ireland and shone against the Goodison kids in one game.
Left winger Henshall, who has broken into the England ranks despite playing for a lower league outfit, has also been hunted by Manchester United and Chelsea.
But Everton have moved in first and hope that Henshall signs this week, with the fee to be decided by a compensation tribunal panel.
If the Swindown youngster puts pen to paper he can join Everton immediately, with the plan to push him on quickly through their ranks."
Sounds good to me.

Good keeper, but would prefer Joe Lewis. Saying that any decent young keeper would be a good move. We desperately need back up for Howard
-
We will get him lads, don't worry.
I hope we do, but like all deals won believe it till I see him on the pitch
-
Witsel.
This happened a couple of hours ago : http://i29.tinypic.com/33e1wfd.gif
Don't think he'll be transferred during what will probably be a long long suspension ..
Seen worse tackles (taylor/eduadro). After watching it I don't think there was an intent to cause an injury, but it was reckless.
-
After listening to Moyes and reading between the lines I would say we are struggling to match his wage demands
-
He definitely ain't coming then, I say let's move for Kranjicar instead.
Would love kranjicar but benega is a loan deal. We probably haven't got the money to take kranjicar and others we need

Daily mail linking us with a move on their site

According to Aftonbladet we already have signed Wheater for 7 mil. And they are also quoting Daily Mail which say that we have signed Heitinga aswell.
"09.30: David Wheater går till Everton från Middlesbrough för 81 miljoner kronor. Evertonmanagern ska enligt Daily Mirror också ha köpt holländaren Johnny Heitinga, 25, från Atletico Madrid. "
If we'd signed wheater he wouldn't have been captain for boro today
-
Apparently he's passed a medical and agreed a 5 year deal
-
Radio Merseyside just said its been confirmaed, were in talks with Newcastle over S Taylor. fingers crossed we get this guy signed for sunday.
On ssn banner. Cue aston villa bid
-
He also played 10 games pre season for valencia and is on the site talking about their game on thursday. Can't see them letting him go out on loan.
-
Spurs linked as well. Do we have a job share with scouting.
-
I live in the NE and the rumours are boro have dropped the asking price to around £4m as they need him of the wages before they can buy

http://followeverton.com/2009/08/14/exclusive-steven-taylor-to-have-blues-medical-on-monday/
An Everton site claiming an "exclusive" They claim they have a source telling them hes having a medical on Monday ahead of a £3M sale
The story now says £6m with apology for the typo
-
I would have him either as back up or to replace lescott. People keep saying he prone to errors, but so was rio ferdinand at 24.

It was written in todays edition of "Barometern" that is a local Kalmar newspaper.
They usually have correct information because of close cooperation with the club.
Cheers mate. Think we may have to chalk this one as another one missed
-
On tomorrows top game in the Swedish league (Kalmar vs Elfsborg 17.00 GMT) the following clubs have requested access for their representatives to watch the game: Dutch AZ Alkmaar, German Bayer Leverkusen and Manchester City. No one from Everton.
Does City really need more ?
Where did you hear that
-
Senderos is a big no from me, just the other day I was stating how poor he is. He is far too error prone, if AC Milan don't want to take up an option to buy at £6m and Arsenal don't want him, why is he good enough for us. Big mistake to buy him. For every good tackle there is a lapse of concentration. Back up for £2m maybe, to replace Joleon, no chance.
Because they both play champions league and we don't. And they have cover at cb and we don't. I'm not saying he would be my 1st choice, but he's better than some we've been linked with
-
I would like to see us go back for Obinna on loan. He only played 9 games for inter last year and would give us some much needed pace
-
Are they really cousins?
I like Cahill tbh and wouldn't be displeased if we brought him in.
Would like him, but think he would be expensive. When arsenal were interested in january, bolton were quoting £15m
-
If we got £25m for Lescott and could replace if with Senderos for £6m I would take it.
-
Can't see city going for bassong, as he only play the last few months of the season and isn't really a top player yet. Also city have yet to walk away from a deal because the price was over the top (they bid £107m for Kaka who went for 56M) they only leave the deal when the player says he's not interested.
-
One of the problems is the ongoing stadium issue. Who ever takes over would foot the bill for it.

If you watch the play he turns away at the last moment. I'm not saying it's not a bad tackle, or that he shouldn't get a long ban, but I believe he didn't go out to injure the player.
