dempsey and donovan are both not good enough.
dempsey has been average and donovan is just untested at any sort of decent level.
Donovan spent a spell at bayern munich last year, although I agree he's not good enough and hasn't really set the world on fire. Go for Altidore

Add me to the list. This guy would be a legend. Hope we go for him.
-
Joe Kinnaer on sky sports says we nearly signed him in January but it fell through
-
Looks like a good one for the future, but not who I was hoping would be staring pre season with us.
-
With Jags out till november I would give him a year any way. We could be playing a lot of games this year and Yobo off to the ACN we need cover even if lescott stays. Another player I would be interested in is Scott Sinclair. Cant get near at chelsea. Fast, tricky and versatile. Would be good squad player and would be available cheap/loan.

I think it would have to be Yakubu he is much better than the rest of them especially as a lone striker
Completely agree. Jo isn't a lone striker, but could prove a top player playing along side the Yak. I know it was in a piss poor league but when playing along side Vagner Love he looked quality.Could be another option especially in europe.

The united rumours have all been started by the bookies. Apparently they have received a lot off bets on it.

Peterlin is highly rated in america by all accounts but he wanted to finish his education before turning professional. We got him from a 4th division american side, who's manager is english and recommened him to moyes. He apparently impressed moyes and the coaching staff in training with the 1st team

I'd take him over Mbia if Mbia doesn't stop whining.
I'm with you on that one. At least he may come for football reasons and not financial reasons

Doyle set to sign for wolves. Press conference 9:30 today. Can't say i'm disappointed. for £6m surely we could find a better striker
-
I'm not sure hes the player we all want to see but if we do get him he will at least offer us something different up front.... assuming hes fit of course...
I was a bit alarmed with the fact that he has cost Newcastle 45m over four seasons..... scoring only 30 goals..
10 of them were last season. Maybe he's finally reaching his potential

Previous reports suggest £2m. Had a decent season last year, but would prefer naughton or hutton
-
No chance. not at that price. but we can dream. Amazing the blackburn fans don't seem against it.
-
He would be a quality signing, I hope this comes off, he has got the stature and class to be our holding midfielder for years. his price is a bit high but he could prove to be even better at us.
They say they are holding out for the highest bid. This is going to go on all summer
-
Nothing certain, just an interesting read.

Rumour on sky sports web site is he's been spotted at liverpool airport., but they say blackburn

Don't think theres anything in it. Man City are being linked with every one at the moment.
-
Could be us as Bill own 68% of the club and this would still leave him as a share holder
-
Looks like a wind up by Blue Kipper. All other reports followed this. They have gave it 5 fish, but they did the same with Kaka
-
Love to see it happen. Redknapp hasn't been full of praise for either of them and they aren't going to get much of a look in so you never know
-
rubbish. Hasn't played for sunderland for ages. About 5th choice at sunderland. Better of without a striker than signing him. Can't see any truth in this one
-
If £22m is true, then every player has his price - I love Joleon but that is silly money, saying that I'd only be happy if moyes has players in mind now, £22m without replacement is no good to us now, we may as well hold out til summer but £22m to be spent on a centre back (maybe berra), a striker, a winger, a battler for the middle and maybe a bit of change for the summer, now that would be fine by me.
I know getting a lot of players in jan can be unsettling, but none need to go straight in, we have a ready made replacement in yobo for lescott, we'd just run the risk of being caught short should we not get players in immediately with a couple of injuries.
In a perfect world I'd wish us to have a bit of money to strengthen our team who could push-on and worry the top 4 this season, but we don't and this MAY be too good to turn down.
I completely agree. I would love to keep Lescott and be able to add more faces. If he is to go, it needs to be quick so we can spend the money. We don't want another rooney situation where we sell on deadline day and don't have any time to bring in replacements

Seen this again rumours floating about again today. I know everyone is against it but I wouldn't mind him. Everyone is making a big deal of him not scoring for newcastle but I have a friend who is a newcastle season ticket holder and he says they have played him as a winger, midfielder and second striker, but not as a striker. If anyone can get him back to his best, its Moyes
-
Would definetly have him. Will be a top class player in the future. Until we get some financial backing our only hope is to buy prospects and turn them into 1st team players

"Everton to sign Seamus Coleman
Everton boss David Moyes is making Republic of Ireland under-21 right back Seamus Coleman his first signing of the window in a surprise cut-price deal.
Moyes has beaten Celtic, Birmingham City and Ipswich Town in the chase for the Sligo Rovers defender and will sort out a fee for him this week after the player agreed to join. Coleman, 20, is tipped to force his way into his plans by the end of the season.
Moyes has been watching Coleman for months and was helped by the fact that Sligo boss Willie McStay is an old Celtic team-mate of his - with the Scot coming over to sort out the move last week.
"
Perhaps he is the best kept secret in football
Why do I get the feeling one of our defenders is moving on
I had the same thought about a defender moving on. At the moment our only chance of getting top players is selling first or buying young and turning them into top players
Jo Signed On Loan!

Wigan away was november. He wasn't playing. He's better than we have on the bench. I'm all for signing him. Any way you're not gonna sign better on loan and we need to spend our money on other areas
