  1. So my attitude that we have vastly reduced the first team squad and in 2 months have only brought back one loan signing is negative. I agree it is negative but I am not causing the negativity I am reacting to it.

Who did we lose that contributed to the first team though?

Either Gosling or Wallace could manage the small number of games van der Meyde, Nuno Valente or whoever played last year? No point in complaining about numbers diminishing if the players lost were never used anyway..

The squad is looking frightfully thin, that's plain but I'd rather give the younger players a chance than someone like van der Meyde. (Even if I did have hopes he would turn everything around for himself when he came here).

  2. But, they had shite for a manager. Moyes is brilliant. I would love some investment...not to be filthy disgustingly rich.

To be able to sign a 2-3 5-8mil players a summer and one big (15-20mil) player plus a loan here and there would be utter bliss.

The thing is, if we had the money to sign 2-3 5-8mil players a summer even that would be a pleasing thought.. a transfer budget around say 15-20 mil a season without us having to sell players to reach this would do wonders if Moyes could continue to work his magic. The problem is, we don't even seem to have that much, add to that the inflated transfer sums and we don't really have a chance to compete in the market.

  3. he was still working for the club back then at least.

Keith harris must be looking for investors under the couch, other clubs have found them!

Or maybe its because they want investment, bk never mentions selling the club, just someone to pay for his little fairy tale to last a bit longer. If i had billions i'd buy the club, but i wouldnt be giving money to someone like bk

    And the saga continues..

  4. He is a very akillfull allround midfielder with great set pieces and is by far the best player in the swedish league. My one worry with him is that he is not exactly a rocket. Perhaps he can be caught for pace in the prem?

He was named in Kalmar's squad for tonight's game at BP in Stockholm so no negotiations today..

I really hope this deal comes through, he's very mature for a player of his age and vision and passing that is singular in the Swedish allsvenskan. Hopefully he can take some of the creative responsibilities from Arteta and mature into a class player. Should be something of a bargain at 5£..

  5. I assume you read LIVERPOOL RUMOUR MILL at the top of the story...... DIRTY RED........ ....... they also call him a TOUCH tackler..... LAZY AGAIN

Yeah, but I've read these rumours on Real and Liverpool forums on a larger swedish football fan site, but this was the first paper link I've seen at all.. Makes you wonder what they're getting it all from..

  6. Latest news I've read is that Groningen are set to keep him after contract talks broke down after this weekend.

I still don't rate Berg as good enough for the EPL still though. He's always struggled against better opposition and frankly for 10£ there should be better alternatives.

I'd much rather Moyes looked into Rasmus Elm, he's class week in and week out in Allsvenskan, had a great impact on his debut for the Swedish national team and was great in the U-21 Euros. I think the going price as stated in swedish press is around 5£..

  7. as for kallstrom i say as if for 2 reasons. 5 mil? you're having a laugh, this is a player at lyon and a full international. secondly, it's not even being taken seriously, it's like a football manager rumour.

i rate him as a player, but he's not the type of player we need.

Sad but true, he's not really established himself as a regular in the national team though.. that's more of a testament to Lagerbäck's obsession with consistency though.

I'd love to see him as a long term replacement of Carsley as a hard working balance player which he's proven he's capable of at Lyon. We'd probably be better off looking at less expensive alternatives though, there were rumours in swedish press this summer about Valencia planning a bid of 7-8 mil which were rejected out of hand. That was before they signed Manny though.. :D
