  1. That from the Everton site? I'm talking about the interview on CH. 5. He looked like a man who had reached the end of the line.

I've got to agree Romey, I've started a thread in the general discussion to ask what others thought on it and who would replace him if he were to go...

  2. I watched the aftermatch interview on CH5 and, reading between the lines, I got the impression that all is not well in the Everton household. Now, I know his team had just been knocked out of the cup but he was certainly getting a bit tetchy when asked about his contract, saying "yes, something may happen in a given timescale" (or something along those lines.

I'm wondering what the general consensus is regarding DM. Do you want to see him fired for our terrible start, no wins at home, no clean sheets at all and out of two cups by October, yet he's still demanding a lot more money?

If you answer 'Yes', who could you see coming in to replace him and what money would you expect the new gaffer to be demanding for the priviledge?

Me personnaly, I would like to see him stay and sort out the mess he has got us in. I don't think he's become a terrible manager overnight and I just cannot see there being a better option in regards to managers out of work.

    osman castillo cahill osman

    yakubu saha

Subs: nash, lescott, valente, rodwell, fellaini, anichebe, vaughan

    Everton 3-1 Liverpool

    Cahill 18 ---- Torres 39

    Yakubu 64

    Saha 77

Jesus, Osman is going to have his work cut out!!!! And couldnt you be a bit more precise with your predictions!!!

I'm usually an optimist and my glass is always half full but tbh, I can only see one outcome here. I'm going to predict a 3-1 win for the shite am afraid and it wouldn't surprise me if we went ahead only to lose three goals to school boy errors. Also, if I were a betting man I would throw at least 50 quid on Keane to bag his first league goal. :angry2:

  4. What is it with our defence in Europe, Yobo is consistently brilliant in the league but in Europe last year and tonight he's been shocking, they could have scored more goals. The first goal was abysmal from Lescott but where the hell where the rest of the defence when the guy was tapping it in? Yobo and Jags just stood watching. Then Yobo let a guy totally run away from him and we somehow cleared off the line, then the own goal was just criminal, he should have got a shout but still, it was pretty bad from Yobo as well. We've actually played well going forward, Arteta has been superb, always probing always keeping it on the deck. Osman has made a difference as well, lovely first goal. We look dangerous when we keep it on the ground, could be a very exciting team once Pienaar is back again. Just like to say well done Anichebe, looks a different player this season, full of energy, good stamina and workrate - he and Vaughan could provide a big boost up front throughout this season. Oh and brilliant goal from the Yak, no surprise there as he is brilliant.

What is it with our defence in general of late. How can such a solid unit from last season become so sloppy after having a summer break. I thought they were supposed to be back refreshed and rady to carry on where they left off.!

  5. Before I have all the Lescott fans deriding me, I am a huge fan of his, but, I think that maybe he has become complacent and needs dropping to the bench for a game or two so that he picks up his game.

We have strong competition now, especially across the back when all fit, and I dont think it is right that Lescott is an automatic pick just because he's done so well for us in the last couple of seasons. I say drop him for the Hull game and make him work extra hard in training to prove he is worthy of a starting place in the Derby....

Anybody have anything to add to that? Anyone agree/disagree?

  6. 16.000.000 euros is 13.000.000 pounds ------- not much more than we paid for Yakubu. What bothers me is the salary thats quoted (90.000 euros), thats just over 70.000 pounds a week, thats a lot of money for us.

I think its a done deal. All these papers are quoting a 5 year deal, the fee, and the wages.

I read it was 90,000 Euros a month (net) so probably around £30k a week gross....

  7. hmm i'm a little disappointed at the moment but 35 mins left and here's hoping we've kept it all quiet and announce 2-3 good quality players that we've signed through the day at midnight....after that I will keep to my word - forget the last 3 months and focus on supporting the team we have.

Thinking with your heart there Johno, not your head in regards to transfers but I'm with you on the second part of your post. Whoever does or does not sign, come tomorrow, we'll still be behind the blues...

  8. Line up pending transfers:

    ------Howard------

    Jacobsen---Yobo---Lescott---Baines

    Messi---Arteta---Castillo---Robinho

    ------Yakubu----Obinna-----

Bench: Turner, Moutinho, Zigic, Vaughan, Neville, J Cole, Anichebe

I reckon there's enough there to see off Stoke

I just heard from my mums hairdresser that Messi has turned down the £8.50 per hour we were offering (greedy bastard..) and Robinho wont come because he's worried he may only get a handful of starts with all the amazing players we have here at the minute.!!
