your right they are class players im not denying that. but i consider a golden generation as a generation who won things or at least looked like they were going to win things. when can you say the likes of rooney gerrard Lampard etc looked like they were going to win the world cup or a euro.

i think bridge has been decent, in a poor city defence. but not a patch on baines.

 

im thinking more about carlton cole, hes done well for west ham, but he is a sign to me that the golden generation of english football is coming to an end.

the golden generation was the one in the mid to late 60's and maybe the ones of italia 90 to some degree

the current lot have done nothing to warrent the title of 'golden generation'

i remember pissing off a geordie rotten not so long ago. he was claiming that newcastle was by far the bigger club than everton are. again he used the whole we got more fans a bigger stadium blah blah blah. so i just said the following

if we were the only club in our city we would have more fans

and very probably have a bigger stadium

not too mention that we have had better league placings than them for about 5 or 6 seasons now

and finally: in the 90's when the club was nearly relegated on more than one occasion we won the FA cup and you had one of your best decades and won fuck all.

Pretty much the team that I would have too with a few changes (above: Grarghesies XI) I would like to see Pienaar in that free role. He runs like mad throughout the game and he would suit it well. Arteta needs to be further up in the middle for me. He woulden't work well alongside Neville. I would play him just in front of Cahill and Fellaini.

 

Would love to have Owen in that team.

I've finished all my Uni work and now I've got to revise for my exams, with my first being onthe 5th May

my first Uni exam is friday. shitting one right now coz im not ready for it. despite me cramming 3 to 4 hours a day for the past week. cant seem to remember any of it

COD:WAW was awful, COD4 is miles better, new one out at the end of the year is going to be modern warfare again which I think is epic, cannot wait for it.

i agree WAW was just a re skin of COD4 which was rushed out for the holidays imo. i much prefer COD4 and cant wait for the new one

if we win the cup it should be the known in history as the hardest FA cup route in history. im so gutted that hes out.
