  1. Moyse plays 4-5-1 because it is the system that best suits the players at his disposal, its as simple as that

Moyse has done an absolutely unbeleivable job at Everton and that is why he is regarded so highly in the game and he has more than earnt himself a shot at a big club. Sir Alex Ferguson knows a hell of a lot more about football than you or I and if he thinks he's good enough to be his successor then I think that speaks volumes

Wonderful appeal to authority, however, just because Fergie has a knowledgeable opinion on Moyes, doesn't mean his thoughts are worth more than mine. Shit, there a few biologists around who still deny darwinian evolution because they have a opinion not related to the facts. Fergie's opinion of Moyes may have been valid 2 years ago, and then I would have agreed, but since then he's not earned such high regard from such reputable authority. Moyes' failures to learn new tactics, figure out how to make an effective sub, win a cup game at HOME to a lower div team, etc, show he won't cut it at a big club like ManU. I'll give you he's a good manager, but until he wins something or puts us in the CL again, his promise doesn't mean fuck all.

  2. I'd like to see

    Mucha

    Neville Heitinga Distin Baines

    Fellaini

    Coleman Osman Bily

    Cahill

    Beckford

I'll be annoyed if Anichebe gets the nod above Beckford as only the latter has scored a goal. Fuck, Vic has been worthless this year. Give Mucha a shot against these lot as well as Osman to see if that ruffles mikel's feathers enough to find some fucking form.

  3. How the hell do you know what was going through Pienaars mind! He wanted more money/to leave at the begining of the season. His team mates knew exactly what was happening, ie an unsettled player, a player destined to leave must have a bearing on some things. Is the grass greener, that's not something you want your players contenplating.

Pienaar has been an excellent player for Everton and more often that not gave his all, but contract disputes will always get in the way.

Pienaar played his best untill the derby!!.......if you say so

He was our best player last season, if I played along side him I'd be unsettled if I knew he was leaving. It was obvious Everton weren't going to increase his wages, he's been on his way all season.

This may only be a small contribution to Evertons poor season, but a part it surely is.

I disagree completely. I don't see a shred of evidence to suggest that Pienaar disrupted things amongst the other players, or between him and DM up until the Derby. Surely, that must be forgivable as his transfer (and future) was in the balance. He played well this whole season and his form was no better nor worse than any other player who is still here (bar Felli and Coleman). Nothing in his play, up until the derby, gave me any reason to think he had stopped trying. You must separate form from effort, Pienaar surely was giving bucket loads of the latter regardless of his intent to leave.

You called it a saga. That is definitely not the right word. It was a transfer. Pienaar wanted more money than the club was willing/able to offer him so he moved. Simple as that. A saga demands drama. Show me evidence for a shred of DRAMA created by Pienaar wanting to leave. He left professionally and did not make a fuss in the lead up to his departure. I'm sad he left, but that is no reason to lambaste him or what you suppose his effect on the team was.

Also, love that you exclaim so passionately that there's no way I can have any idea what Pienaar is thinking, yet you are in tune with the entire squad's psyche(see: bold).

  4.

Finally, yes, 13th place is poor, we have been inconsistant, but just two of those many draws as wins would put us 7th.That's 7th even in a poor season, which is really down to not scoring enough.

We've had a couple of really poor games, West Brom and West Ham spring to mind, but we've also out played a few teams this season and only drawn with them, it's a fine line we tread and we are at the moment the wrong side of it.

Sure, it's easy to say that had things turned out differently, we'd be 7th. but, we're not. The argument that our squad is so good and ought to be challenging for Euro or CL places is utter bollocks until they actually do. Good squads put away lesser teams, something we've not done this year.

I hope we turn it around, and I hope we beat Chelsea this Saturday. But, somehow I just don't see it happening, especially with no one coming in this January.

  5. To be fair Arteta was superb out wide and Piennar was equally impressive on the left, Kilbane was signed as a wide man and he was a great signing for us.

He also brought in Donovan last year so you cant really say hes done nothing about it for 9 years

Kilbane is gone. Donovan was here for 10 weeks. Pienaar is gone. And Arteta is not a winger. Moyes hasn't done a thing about getting a proper winger in 9 years. Outside of Coleman, who is meant to be a RB, he hasn't BOUGHT a single winger since Kilbane. Loans that don't lead to a purchase surely can't be counted as doing something about solving our width problem. Our current midfield staff doesn't have a single player with pace.

Back to topic. I like Bily, a lot. He's definitely not a 9mil player, but he's the only player on our staff who will take a shot. His (shooting) technique is unmatched by anyone in our squad except maybe Saha. If Moyes can figure out how to work him into the squad, I think he'll "come good" as so many here put it. Bily won't be the workhorse Cahill or Pienaar are/were but he has a place in our squad.

  6. Stop the moaning, and look at things positively. We arn't far from Europe and the teams ahead of us are performing above expectations. We have some good players, they will come good. Felli will dave us. COYB.

What the fuck have we got to look t in a positive light? This team is utter bollock. Apart from Fellaini, Baines, Disitn, Neville, Coleman and Ossie the whole lot can fuck off. Moyes and the players need to figure some shit out soon or we're going down down down.

  7. Well not really, but how many of us would that actually surprise. I do believe that since 'arry has been in charge of Spurs, they've been linked with most every player we have. From what I recall I've read links with Rodwell, Arteta, Fellaini, Neville, Yakubu, Pienaar (well, he's there now), Jagielka and those are just what I remember. I know journo links are tenuous at best, but it's odd that Spurs seemed to be linked with Everton more than any otherclub. And if they're not being linked with one of our players, it's one we're meant to be after. Fuck me if Redknapp actually has his own transfer strategy.

  8. Ohh an a mention for van der farts. Best signing in the prem by far! He's like a Cahill with good feet but without the head, 8 million my word! Saying that Cahill 2.5 million that was in the old market tho, I wonder what he would have cost in today's market.

I was quite please when we were linked with him. Too bad we're too fucking skint for a steal like that. He would have been a wonderful buy at 8 mil. Pissed that he's at spurs though.
