  1. It'll definately be interesting to see which teams go down this year, could be a few bargains to be had in the summer. The way things are going it wouldnt suprise me to see Sunderland go down, and despite their utter utter shitness this year, they do have the odd player which could work well in our system ( Bent, Turner etc etc). Same applies with Bolton, it would be worth a punt to try and get gary cahill if they go down....hmmm two cahills in one team, what are the odds?!! Hypothetically aside, I would like to see cover for Baines, and if we can't sign Donovan then at least he's shown us what we've been missing for so long, a pacey natural attack minded right winger. Its a shame Johnson went to City, he would have been an ideal, and not budget busting, summer signing.

With regards to players going out, I wouldnt be too upset if Anichebe went ( 4-5m possibly?!). sadly I can see some of our current in-form players attracting alot of attention towards the end of the summer...Pienaar, Baines, Saha, Heitinga. Lets just hope we can keep hold and keep everyone fecking injury free for the start of next season!

  2. Looking at the Daily Post pictures of the squad training, Jags has got the same colour bibs on as the rest of the "supposed" first team and senderos has another colour with the normal subs. He couldn't play could he.........

Ha Ha, I honestly think he will. After seeing the comments made by Neville on the OS, and indeed what Moyes has been saying today, I think he will AT LEAST get 25-20 mins in the second half, or who knows? Maybe even a spot on the starting line up with the view to being subbed later. Neville said he's been training "with us", which surely means first team contact training, for 3-4 weeks. Compare that to Arteta, who had only a few days training and it looks more and more likely that we'll see the almighty Jags back! However, I think when we get back into the Premier League matches he'll be used more sparingly until some form of match fitness is regained, and to be honest I'd hope that was the case. the last thing we need now is a cause for concern in ANY position with the run we're on. and before anyone says it, I know Distin is ALWAYS a cause for concern!!

  3. Watched most of the first leg again last night. Only real threats from them were Izmailova, Veloso and that mad man of a Keeper. If we come out guns blazing though I don't think they'll be able to contain us. 1-0 up early and it should become easy. I see a 3-1 finish.

    -----------Howard------------

Neville--Yobo--Senderos--Baines (I think Neville will offer enough leadership and organization to sort out any lapses)

    The Don--Arteta--Osman--Pienaar

    -----------Billy (or Saha)-----

    ------------Saha (or Yak)------

I think if we play a five man midfield it will be The Don, Pienaar and Billy swapping back and forth across the pitch. If Moyes wants to throw Yak on, which might be a peach of a plan given their under strength defense, then I think Saha sits just behind him. Think there might be a real shout to have Yak bully his way about their back line. With the form of Osman, Pienaar and Donovan I think we can cover the midfield with 4 (assuming of course that Pienaar isn't in trouble).

I'm pretty sure Izmailov has moved back to Lokomotiv Moscow (Russian transfer window is open!). Commentator said something about it in the last match, saying it was his last game for the club. I might be wrong, but you are right in saying he was their most dangerous player.

  4. Well after the good luck charm of my prediction pre-United. Im going for the same again...3-1 to us. Theres no point in me prediciting goalscorers, i didnt even get one right last time!

Will be interesting to see if Jags makes the bench, just incase yobo or...ermmm..have to be taken off. I can see our substitutions being a little more effective from now on, theres more competition for places so players will have to take every opportunity they get and work their socks off. I hope Yakubu reads this haha.

  5. I agree with wallwriters formation for the most part, but i think it would be worth giving the yak a run out at some point, he seems to have lost a few pounds since christmas ( too many will smith films and ice cream whilst injured me thinks!) and is starting to look at bit sharper with his touch. Will be interesting to see if Moyes chooses to try donovan in a secondary striker role, it seems all the new found yank everton fans on galaxy forums believe that to be his best position. Im going for a 3-1 win for the blues!! Saha/Arteta and Osman. It would be rude not to say Rooney for them:)

p.s i just noticed craigb's score prediction/goal scorers after i posted mine! maybe its fate! COYB!

  6. What a performance! shame about Louis' penalty miss but he made up for it in clinical fashion:)

It's so nice to see us passing the ball around well and Donovans runs down the wing are exactly what we were missing in the early part of the season.

    Bring on Sporting Lisbon, COYB!

p.s I don't think there will be enough humble pie to go round for all the pessimists on this site :P

  7. I hate to be a pessimist but all this talk of 40 million for rodwell is frankly ridiculous! First of all the lad isn't an England international, thats not to say he won't be, but how many young players have we seen in the premiership that have never quite made the step up? there's absolutely no doubting rodwells talents, and IF he were to go I wouldn't want to see him go for less than he is/potentially worth to the team. However, at the moment he isn't worth 40 million, not a chance. we are having a poor season, we have financial difficulties and there's no denying that. I honestly believe IF we were to sell him in the next couple of transfer windows, we'd be lucky to get 12-15 million.

Im not trying to be negative, just realistic. Yes, Lescott went to Man City for a frankly astonishing (reported) 24 million. Thats an England international ( a fringe one at that) with a few years of premiership experience, sold to a club who are paying highly inflated fees. I think its dangerous to talk about the bags of money we think we should get for Rodwell, when realistically speaking it just won't happen. Imagine if say Chelsea, Man Utd or Real Madrid publically stated their serious interest in the lad, do you really think he wouldn't hand in a transfer request?! Consequently quashing our stance to barter a higher fee for him. I truely hope he stays with us for years to come, from the bottom of my blue heart, but come on, if he does leave it will not be for more than our club can afford to reject.

  8. After watching the Shites match earlier, it made me realise how much we miss Lee Carsley in the big games, he was awesome for Birmingham, and very unlucky with the penalty decision. Even if for the most part he just throws his body in the way, its bloody effective!

  9. Dearest Phillip,

Please come back. My heart pains without you. The defenses are miserable, there is no coordination and a complacent feeling about the boys. We need you to be our rock in the back once more. I pray the day we will see you on the front lines once more is not far off. The Red (shite) Coats are not far off and without you, well i'll not yet think of that. hurry back.

    Most Sincerely yours,

    Evertonians everywhere.

Either phillip will do for me!

  10. Not to sound funny mate but a computer game bare's no weight in what a player can or can't do plus he's a winger which we have been in desperate need of for donkeys, He reminds me of Pienaar but with abit more about him im sure this wont happen but if it did he's the type of player we do need.

I agree, although CM can be pretty spot on with showing the potential of players, i seem to remember Ibrahima Bakayoko being one of the best players on the game years back.....
