im sure we could put distin in left back if really required, however, we need the big man in centre
-
Yeah if he stays fit then this will do him the world of good, he is well able to cope with the challenges of the championship in terms of physicality (is that a word?) lets say a prayer as it will be like a new player when he comes back in 3 months (if he does come back!)
fully agree, the more strikers the better, hopefully he will come back with a lot more experience and the drive to make the first team. only 3 month loan though, not sure this will happen

Looking forward to tomorrow! I think we can win our next 6 games.
For tomorrow I think we should go with:
...........Howard.............
Hietinga..Yobo..Distin..Baines
......Fellaini..Rodwell.......
Pienaar.....Cahill......Billy
.............Saha...........
If we are winning second half osman may come on, and yak will prob come on for half an hour.
I will go with 3-0 Cahill, Saha and Yakubu
Coyb
I like this team, not sure about billy, may come on as a sub if hes not fully fit
I think fellaini and cahill played excellent on thursday, normally have to pick between the two.
Cahill worked his socks off and fellaini didnt do any rash moves
You can tell they are all fighting for places now
-
what a stupid topic, we have cover for both centre back positions and right back, fighting for places is what we need, gosling played excellent against AEK on thursday
-
Yobo played excellent on thursday, no faults.. as of yet
-
i gave it fellaini, really showed his worth last night, billy cant half pass the ball and has great vision, rodwell controlled the midfield with cahill and pienaar was running wild. good performance
-
adebayor was a nobody before arsenal, they made him the player he is, now hes a money grabbing twat
-
yeah lets hope billy gives us 100% and gosling in defence
come on the Yak second half
we just need to maintain our motivation in the game, dont get a goal then sit back until they up the tempo
-
yeah the yak will come on after 60-70mins, i just hate Jo so much, so over rated, runs forward... without the ball.
he doesnt think goal, but get it away from feet
-
yeah i wouldnt have blamed him either, honest footballer and has the experience we need to take no messing around from the opposition
-
yeah he plays centre and right back, cover for right back i guess. only like him playing for the aussies.
greedy player as per
and he is nowere near better than jags. jags will slot straight back in to the team when hes fit
-
been a good player the times ive seen him play and he has the experience, more numbers in the squad the better
-
Distin for me. Neville got the armband as soon as he entered the club, thus Distin should get it as he is a solid experienced pro. Cahill isn't inspiring enough, and Howard is way too quiet to be captain. Yobo? No, not for me.
I suppost I do agree, I just hope he gets on well with the other players, dont want him to be quiet and not speak his mind if he is made captain. Most experienced on the team now
-
To be honest, id say Arsenal a few years ago
I cant remember a team passing so beautifully and beating every oponent. shame they sold vital players
-
your right bill
im fed up of hearing, no end product from pienaar, do you watch or go the game? You wil see pienaar works his socks off to not only win possession back for the team but he also starts attacks aswell. He will take the ball and pass it on, the most effective pass is a simple one, around 8 players on the pitch for everton dont comprehend this fact. When pienaar recieves the ball 3/4s up the field, when hes not having to covers baines arse, he will get to the line and put a ball in, failing that he'll hold posession and bring other players in.
I fully agree, he will get a few vital goals this season and he is always providing assists. always remember he wil drop back a little too, let baines run down the wing. im just not too sure about switching him to the right if billy plays. i think baines and pienaar work very well together

Heitinga is ineligible until January and Hibbert is suspended!
I obviously wasn't paying attention, thought we were on about prem games
-
Heitinga will probably be selected now Nev is out, hibbert will stay right back
Billy should have come on for Nev, let rodwell sit back a bit more defensively.
We just didnt have any ideas to get passed fulham in the second half.
-
its going to be an exciting season once we get jags and arteta back. I hope the Yak makes the impact he always has done. Jo just doesnt seem to want to run towards goal with the ball, gets knocked off too easily, whereas Yak can control long balls played to him
-
ask bily for hes cos he aint gonna need it anytime soon
HAHA love it
-
Yobo is bound to get the armband. Maybe when jags is back he may, does talk a lot and gets the players in to the right position
-
I would think Heitinga would be played again as a defensive midfielder.
Some goods passes against fulham, just needs games to mark himself in the team
I know hibbert isnt the best, but this season hes getting forward and showing he derserves a place in the starting XI
-
Arteta cant be replaced so easily so my answer is NO.
Rodwell and arteta is a very exciting partnership in the future.
Rodwell is a good holding midfielder and with arteta next to him I think this is were we will see him shine most.
I would say Arteta to be captain if he comes back and nev is still out
-
IF THEY WERE ALL FIT OF CORSE;
HOWARD
HEITENGA.JAGIELKA.DISTIN.BAINES.
BILLY.RODWELL.ARTETA.PIENAAR.
CAHILL.
SAHA/YAK.
-
if we get Heitinga our defence is prettty much sorted for this season
Heitinga Distin Jagielka Baines
Yobo and hibbert for cover

If we have no injuries we will have a really good squad, lets hope joe cole remains fit for the left flank. can put gerrard behind rooney then.
Spain will be very tough to beat with the squad they have, says it all when fabregas is always on the bench
