  1. I agree MikeO, the idea to move the final to 5:30 is completely unnecessary.Having it at it's usual 3pm slot has not affected people watching it in the past, so there would be no need for such a change. I think their idea for seeding teams is to give lower league opponents more of a chance of drawing the bigger clubs. If the top clubs are seeded then they cannot face one another, increasing the odds of someone like a Crawley Town drawing Manchester United more often. Of course, it would probably mean that the majority of the time, the quarters and semis will be contested by the usual suspects, which certainly would kill some of the romance of the cup.
  2. Hi all, Hope you're all well. I just wanted to know what your thoughts are on the proposed changes for the FA Cup? Reports over the weekend claim the Football Association is looking at radicalising the competition, with suggestions such as moving the time of the final to 5:30, scrapping replays, seeding teams and giving the winners a spot in the Champions League. What do you think of the ideas? Are they necessary? Having just done a feature on the subject, which you're more than welcome to have a look at (if you get the chance of course) it will be great to hear your feelings on the matter, whether they're viewed on here or on the site. The feature can be found here: www.shoutsfromthestands.com Many thanks!
  3. Hi all, Transfer deadline days are usually mediocre affairs that promise a lot of drama but deliver little. However, this one looks set to be the exception to the rule. Chelsea look set to potentially complete a British transfer record deal to sign Fernando Torres, Liverpool are splashing the cash to get Luis Suarez to join as a replacement, while Spurs seem to be running around Spain with a pot of gold to try and sign a top striker. Having just done a feature on it, it would be great to get your views on what is sure to be a day where we're all glued to Sky Sports News and our club websites being refreshed every 30 seconds! The feature I have done can be found here: http://www.shoutsfromthestands.com/ Many thanks lads!
  4. Hi all, Following the recent controversies that have arisen from footballers using Twitter, such as Ryan Babel's photoshopped picture of Howard Webb "wearing" a United shirt and Aldershot striker Marvin Morgan telling his fans that he hopes they die, it made me think of the kind of impact that the social networking site is having on football. Having just done an article on the subject, it would be great to hear your views on the issue and whether or not the use of Twitter is good or bad for the game, if you get the chance of course. Feel free to leave your views on the comments section of the article. Many thanks, and all the best for the rest of the season http://www.shoutsfromthestands.com/
  5. Hi all, Hope you’ve all had a nice Christmas. It’s been a fantastic year of football in 2010, with many highs and lows throughout. Myself and my mate run a football website called ‘Shouts from the stands’ and we have come up with a review of what the past 12 months have come up with in the game we love. It would be great (if you get the chance of course) if you could take a peek at our review of 2010 and see what you think. You are also more than welcome to leave your views on the comments section of the blog on how you’ve viewed the past footballing year, and what you think will happen in 2011. Many thanks, and a happy new year to you all! http://www.shoutsfromthestands.com/
  6. Thanks for all the feedback lads, much appreciated. Its great to see how despite all supporting the same side, there are different dislikes for different sides. Thanks again, hope you all have a happy new year
  7. Hi all, It crossed my mind the other day about how rivalries play such an important part in our lives as a football fan. But while many fans of the same club will have the same dislike of a rival side, others may view another side as the team they want to beat the most. Not only that, but everyone has their own reasons for why they consider that particular side to be their main rival, or most disliked side. I have just done a blog on a football website called "shouts from the stands" which explores how rivalries are born by a football fan, and it will be great to hear from you (if you get the time of course) as to who you view the team you dislike more than any other, but most importantly why. Many thanks, and I hope you all have a Merry Christmas http://www.shoutsfromthestands.com/
  8. Cheers MikeO, great to hear that Everton fans such as yourself like it, as you are the ones that care the most about this issue. Hopefully it will be a happy ending and Pienaar will sign a new deal, but loyalty seems to be a rare quality in football these days. Thanks for the feedback
  9. Hey MikeO, What did you think of the article? Thanks for your help by the way
  10. Yeah definitely will do, should be on the site on sunday, so will post the link on here then Thanks for all your help!
  11. Hi all, I am looking to do a blog on a website called 'shouts from the stands' on the current situation regarding Steven Pienaar. Now you will all know about the situation better than i do, and how he looks set to either leave in January or run his contract down and leave on a free transfer in the summer. I just wanted some feedback from you, the Everton fans, before I write anything about it so I can gain a better understanding on your frustrations regarding the contract issue. I personally think he's being rather stupid and should sign a new deal at the club where he has blossomed, but it's your opinions that matter the most, so if you get the chance then feel free to let me know what you think. Many thanks, and all the best for the season
