  1. You know what moyes is... A world class number 2.

Send him to watch opponents, look at players, scout, take training (once he's been told what he is to drill them for) - he is a great organiser. I know someone who is friends with the lad who does the analysis and moyes leaves no stone unturned - he works his staff hard, and I mean hard.

Unfortunately I think this is moyesys undoing, he works so hard - so when someone like Royston ticky shows up with not a care in the world but a sack load of talent, a heavy sack, and can't get out the sack it pisses him off!

Busby was a great manager, and best was the biggest pain in the backside to manage - did he drop him??? No, he knew it wouldn't change him, would ferguson have saved gascoigne??? No. Maybe he wouldn't have been so destructive to his own talent but ultimately these players are what they are because of who they are and their genetics. Moyes will never be able to manage a drogba, Rooney, van persie, tevez, Suarez, and probably even messi. They know the game, they know that what they have can't be coached by an ex second rate centre half but moyes can't handle that. He has to be "the man"

Totally agree, Harvey was a brilliant No2 but not manager, ok, the players were leaving for Rangers but he couldn't handle Cottee.. Haf, in all the matches in the mid to late eighties and when Royle was manager the one thing we never did was except mediocrity, play for a draw or try to hang on to a 1 -0 lead..

  2. When has Moyes done it before?. We are a mid table safety team with the odd excursion into the Europa league, losing the defining matches.. Yes we finished fourth, what? seven years ago? The reason for that was our performances before Xmas, We sold Tommy G and went backwards..We were the kings of the 1-0 win. It doesn't matter how much cash you have if your default tactic is defend. Our ambition as a club is to avoid relegation.. Don't want to hear how we needed him after Walter Smith, christ, coco the clown would have been an improvement.. But, ten years is long enough, especially as we can't even manage a Carling Cup final, never mind a win. Whats to happen when Heitinga doesn't return after the Euros or Chelsea bid 20m for Jelavic.

  3. The overiding issue is it was the RS.. We NEVER beat them, we always roll over. It's been that way since 1892. Why are we suprised?. The last player who didn't read the script was AJ so we sold him.. We scored from a mistake then sat on it Howard was wasting time 10 mins before half time. Bringing Coleman on is not an indication the we're going to have a go. The whole ethos is different..In the league when they where three up they brought on two strikers, we'd take 'em off for a nice rest, pot of tea and a digestive..

  4. Yeah, I know Haf.. Moyes does well with what he's given, or not, as the case maybe.. The issues you listed last summer are all still valid perhaps more so as the season progresses.. Personally, I do not trust Kenwright, as a person I find him creepy as a businessman I think he's a liar.. Of course he knows what the club is worth, he's onto the banks everyday. Johnson used the club to shore up Park Foods, I wonder what the current board use the club for??.. The £25m "other expenses" for example.. It's the lack of trust more than the lack of money which I find an issue..

  5. Moyes would have been sacked as soon as we lost a corner, we would still have all our off field assets but we would also still have a shite squad full of ageing has beens and probably be facing Wycombe away on April 14th instead of runing out at Wembley in another FA Cup semi-final

You keep harping on about the asset stripping and the increased debt, but what would you rather he had done? Peter Johnson was taking us towards certain relegation, BK is taking us to Wembley again. Johnson a better chairman? To quote Jim Royal ....My Arse!

I was hoping the upturn in form and fortune on the pitch would have improved the atmosphere around here but its still the same old doom and gloom bollocks

Yep, beginning to think there are many who can't be satisfied.. We could win the league by 10 points but then we'd be reading posts like " if we hadn't drawn with Wigan we would have won by 11".. After all the problems of the 90's when we basically imploded, It's amazing we're still around and haven't done a Charlton or Soton or Leeds. Ok some will say those clubs aren't the same as us but to their fans they are.. We are in the best most competitive league on the planet, capable of beating anyone by spending what in modern game terms is pocket money.. I personally think we're doing bloody well, yes we capitulated in the derby, but, when don't we? christ, when we were "good" we used to loose to them

FFS we've spent less than SEVEN MIllion, we're SEVENTH and in the FA SEMI.. nuff said..

  6. They where there for the taking, no confidence, can't score and hadn't won a league game since Jan.. Can't believe he left Peinaar on and two strikers replaced with one..

Fuck this shite, i've got work to do.

  7. I thought Peinaar was brave returning. With the injuries Spurs have he probably would have got a few games there now. Why compare him with Drenthe?, they have two very different styles plus Drenthe isn't exactly screaming "I love it here offer me a contract please!".. Peanuts can hold the ball, offering it wide, maybe behind Jelavic with Drenthe and Donavon on either wing?

  8. Fair enough pal, but you and a few others have been saying it for ages though, and it will still be said next season as well, it's a rut we are in and only one guy can get us out of it, Jesus it's like sitting in a pub to a drunken old sod who goes over the same conversation ten times ( not you Regs, I mean Moyes) opposition was up for it, the pitch, our injuries, players still finding their feet, the money teams have to spend, well let me tell you it has fuck all to do with setting a team up to win a game. Those players should be in the tunnel pumped up to fuck, look the opposition up and down and think '' yeah we are gonna smash four past em''! I'm banging my head against a brick wall saying our manager needs to front up, grow a pair and accept that things are not working for him at the mo. Don't go looking for excuses Davie lad, nobody is listening. Win ugly not loose prettily. He is getting serious money to change things around which he ain't, and if he wants some tips on how to set his team up then Toffee Talk is only too willing to help!!laugh.png

Have to agree, £18m+ over five years.. Sometimes I wish we were just as patient with negative players earning a quarter of that?

  9. Norwich and Swansea are above us, thats got nothing to do with spending, more to do with attitude and tactics. The Club didn't bother showing interest in Demba Ba, that says a lot considering his wages wouldn't have been an issue.. We keep playing the likes of Saha who is useless, that sends a message to the other players "we don't have to perform to play" I would rather pay off his contract and get shut rather than buy another midfield squad player.

  10. I suppose it's easier to lure youngsters. Jeffers was evolving well until he started believing his own press.

Foreign players were always more attractive due to currency value and the ability to pay on the drip. Our rules stated teams must pay 50% of an English players value with the balance due in 12 months, thats changed now making English purchases more affordable.. Maybe the new rulings have a lot to do with it, we are all aware of the off loading Man City must do..

Sorry this getting off topic but, has there been rumours regarding the three foreigner ruling and the number of Eu players?

  11. Hypothetically speaking, unless I'm wrong, Kenwright owns around a quarter of the shares. What is for sale? Just his shares, or everybody's shares? If his shares were worth 30 million, surely that then makes the club worth £120m at the time of purchase. If it sells for £150m, is that not only a profit of 5 million for Kenwright? I can understand it if it's only his 25% for sale, and he wants £150m, but that isn't the case, is it?

Yeah, see your point.. I think a few are being a little unfair with BK. Maybe one or two (blue union) are targeting the wrong board member. Kenwright has never come across as a shark, he took the reigns when no other would and he has invested his own money unlike others.

  12. Avin, hasn't BK always maintained he would only want his initial investment back?.. I appreciate he would expect some profit, thats realistic, but, to expect massive returns for a business which is struggling financially doesn't make a profit has sold its assets and has zero investment from board members is just plain wrong. I agree he was the right choice when PJ owned us, I agree he is a devoted Evertonian, he had already devoted his life to the club before borrowing the cash to buy it. To me me he's loosing his immense credibility by being greedy. If he only had the clubs best interests at heart he would sell cheaply allowing the new owners more flexibility.. We have no money to invest in players, i'm amazed Fellaini signed a new contract which just maintains his value so when we sell him the banks say thankyou.
