Jimmy the blue Posted September 18, 2008 Report Posted September 18, 2008 Have you had any problems with this company either joining or cancelling your membership. I'm having enormous problems trying to leave them as they continually fail to cancel the standing credit card payment. I called them on the Ist July to cancel and I'm still not shut of them. It seems that it is not good enough for a customer to come along and say I don't want you any more I've gone elsewhere they just keep on taking £17.99 a month and its pissing me off Quote
DangerMouse Posted September 18, 2008 Report Posted September 18, 2008 Ive had this trouble with many ISP's..... Its all down to the small print when you set up your apparent "direct debit" In future never give "anyone" your long card number when setting up subscriptions (direct debits) to anything They end up taking your payments off your card and not as a direct debit as instructed.... The Bank wouldnt help in my case and advised that I informed "freeserve" of my intention to cancel and then cancel my card... which I duly did........ My bank wouldnt even block payments to freeserve..... its a joke and a big con to get around the terms of a direct debit. All else fails put it in writing and threaten to seek legal advice ( a bit pointless) or make a huge complaint to Trading Standards.... Id have a go at your bank too... make a big deal about your account not being secure and that even after informing them that someone is "iligaly" taking money from your account as its not autherised by you.. they still allow it and refuse to stop it happening again..... I like this one the best...... Quote
