xsaint
Cardiff have turned down two bids from Everton for their highly-rated defender Chris Gunter, BBC Sport understands. The 17-year-old made his full international début for Wales in the friendly draw with New Zealand in May. Gunter was handed his début for the Bluebirds in a League Cup tie in August and went on to make 16 first-team appearances for the club. His performances for the Championship side have attracted interest from a number of Premier League clubs. Gunter usually performs at right-back but has also filled in at left-back for the club because of injuries. The Newport-born youngster is rated highly by Cardiff manager Dave Jones and he was also recognised by the Football League when he was awarded their Apprentice of the Year last season. Jones is keen for the player to continue his development at Ninian Park. Chairman Peter Ridsdale has already turned down bids for some of their players, but with the club looking to finance their new stadium he has admitted he would be willing to sell at the right price Source: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/t...ton/6229236.stm
