For me it would have to be Riquelme. The ultimate playmaker and top quality set piece taker. He is woefully slow and you have to build the entire team around him if you want to get the best out of him though.

What??????? Gerrard is not one of the best passers of the ball in europe. He's not even one of the best passers of the ball in the Prem. Scholes, Fabregas, Carrick, Hleb and hell even Lampard all pass the ball better than Gerrard. In in europe theres Xavi, Deco, Van Der Vart, Pires, Totti, Pirlo, Yaya Toure, Messi, Sneijder and Guti. I could go on, claiming Gerrard is a great passer of the ball just shows ignorance about world football.
