Well it's not like Bently could slot in for Modric. More likely Jeans will get more time.
Modric is an attacking left sided midfielder and Bentley is an attacking right sided midfielder. In our team we have Pienaar (who is a right footer) on the left. Also as we all know Osman is not a right mid but he gets played there as there is no one better. Jenas is a central midfielder so I don't think it's out of the question that Harry could play Bentley out wide left for them, I can't think of any other natural left sided players who could play out there except maybe Bale who is probably injured.
-
Do any of you think that Harry might be less willing to sell now that Modric has broken his leg? Admittedly it's a fracture rather than a kind of Eduardo horror injury but still would mean he will be out for a while.

Howard - 6. Made a good save, could do nothing for the goal.
Hibbert - 5. Was at fault for the goal clearly, but did do some good tackles and crosses also. But out of depth.
Distin - 6. Quiet but solid, great block near the end.
Yobo - 7. Good today, but still does silly mistakes.
Baines - 6. Fault he was poor by his standards, but good pen.
Osman - 0. Who? Was he playing?
Neville - 5. Also out of depth in midfield, poor touch and awareness, needs to be right back or bench.
Rodwell - 9. Outstanding, controlled the middle with drive and focus. Future captain.
Pienaar - 8. Another industrious performance, get a contract for him NOW!
Cahill - 6. Hustled but not really there today.
Saha - 7. A constant threat, hail King Louis!
Felliani - 6. Nice touches and inter play, but he seems so slow.
Jo - 5. I like him and he won the penalty, but the two missed chances is making it harder for me to back him. He needs a goal but hasn't time on his side.
What do you mean time isn't on Jo's side? It's 3 games into the season and we only have 2 fit strikers, he is going to get his chance. Also thought Distin was better than Yobo today as you said Yobo makes too many silly mistakes.
-
Got away with that one.
in the end we had the opportunities to win by 2 or more but most of the game we were very ordinary. Have to say that the subs probably changed the game.
Havent always been impressed with Fellaini but he impressed me today. Will be surprised if he doesnt start next match. Pity we didnt get to see much of Billy.
Only thing is who will Moyes take out of the team Rodders played well so he shouldn't take him out. I would say Pip should be benched and play felli with Rodders holding but we all know as club captain Neville will always start. Could drop Nev to RB and drop Hibbo though I can't see Moyes doing that either.

Stewart Barlow was terrible, and Gareth Farrelly was terrible too. Seriously the morning of that last match against Coventry I thought we were going down as Farrelly had played awful in every other game. 'That goal' was the only thing he ever did for us. The only one I questioned in my lineup was Madar, to be fair his scoring record wasn't bad admittedly he wasn't a good player but as a striker you judge them on goals. I think part of everyone's dislike of Madar comes from him being French and having stupid hair. I was considering swapping him with Tommy Johnson (even though he was only a loan)
-
Surely everyone has made an Everton worst XI out of players that we have seen rather than simply having a best XI. Hard to name just one terrible player but my worst XI woould probably be:
Baardsen
Earl Barrett, Carl Tiler, Per Kroldrup, Mark Hottiger
Claus Thompson, Mitch Ward, Gareth Farrelly, Scott Gemill
John Spencer, Mikel Madar
Subs: Paul Gerrard, Mark Hughes, Stewart Barlow, Alex Nyarko, Eddy Bosnar (never saw him play but thought he deserved a mention)
Now if this was our team we would be challenging the top 4 this season!
-
Fully agree. I dont rate Distin so Villa are welcome to him.
Maybe we are being really clever and pretending to be after Distin so Villa gazump us which we knew they would because as soon as we show an interest in someone they show up. In the meantime we are actually going after Taylor/Shawcross/Huth instead.
Doubt it tho, we don't seem smart enough to do that.

Turner will leave but I hope we keep Ruddy. Lots of talk about Ruddy being a very good keeper and Turners hip being long term injury doubt. That said, we do seem to have an obsession with young keepers
Simonsen (Though this deal was very dodgy), Turner, Ruddy the list of young keepers that we ruin goes on. According to the Mirror we will sign Smithies link As someone else said any young keeper is mad to come to us. Also apparently Turner was shite when on loan at Forest and is now crocked again so I think he will be going. Don't know much about Ruddy though think he was on loan at Chester for a while and did OK.
-
The loan repayments are too high and the player wage to income ratio is too high.
Also if you watch moyes post match reaction to the Arsenal game here he says even the two loan deals he had planned are now off. I read today that Almeida has said that one is off so I guess that might be one of them. Anyway pretty miserable news on the transfer front

hahaha i meant VDM! hahahaha
but for a person who never ever ever plays i think he is taken the club for a ride for too long now, ive always hoped he would come good in the end but now for all i care he can feck right off.
Only 5 months or so till he does now.

This performance really showed up the folly of not replacing players before you ship them out, we had nobody to protect the back four, how we could have done with Carsley today. Baines once again showed his lack of defensive nous and makes Lescott look like a novice, its time to revert Jags back to centre half and Lescott to full back.
No pace in attack, Johnson might not have been the perfect finisher but he would have put in a better stint than either of our attackers.
None of the new buys were available so once again we have had 3 months to strengthen the squad and now its another 3 points shamelessly given away without a fight.
We will be lucky to finish in the top half this season, and unless a couple of TOP class players ( Moutinho and M'Bia ) are brought in before the window closes we might find ourselves in the botton 6. Golden opportunities have been squandered, it has taken Moyes 6 seasons of hard work to get us where we are, but it will only take one bad season to ruin it all.
Just got back from the game and have to admit certain parts were pretty shit but this finish in the bottom six is reactionary bullshit. Problems today I agree we need a centre mid but thought Rodwell did ok even though he wasn't very adventurous. Baines was exposed a lot defensively but there was a ten minute spell before their second goal where he put in some cracking crosses. Also people who have been saying play Lescott at LB I completely agree I don't give a sh*t about where he thinks he is best he is a liability at centre back. Jags needs to be back there but I can understand why Jags wasn't playing in defence because of our lack of options in Midfield. Also thought Arteta was out of the game for long long periods but I did think this was also a result of every attack we had going down the left. Sure there are problems and I doubt we will finish top six somewhere between 8 and 12 I reckon; but it could be worse we could be Derby.
-
please tell me why on earth you would play 4 5 1 with the amount of midfielders we have fit, everyone is raving about gosling but id never throw him strait into the first team, Neville needs to stay rightback if he has to play because in midfield we can't keep the ball for 3 passes.
------------------HOWARD--------------------
NEVILLE-----YOBO------JAGS-----LESCOTT
ARTETA------OSMAN----RODWELL----BAINES
--------------VAUGHAN----YAKUBU------------
I think thats the best we can hope for myself.
I assumed Vaughn was suspended and Jukewicz has looked a bit crap in the pre season games I have seen.

I'd plump for this team:-
Howard
Neville Jags Yobo Lescott
Arteta Osman Rodwell Baines
Yakubu Mr Testicles.
Mr Testicles parterning Yak upfront may seem like a contraversial choice for some, but having a big load of bollocks heading the team at the moment seems fairly apt.... still probably better choice than smith though
This made me LOL anyway as I said elsewhere I reckon would play
------------Howard------------
Gosling-Jags-Lescott-Valente
------------Neville---------------
Arteta-Rodwell-Osman-Baines
------------Yakubu----------------
Bench
Yobo, Baxter, Turner, and umm maybe Mr Testicles

is this like one of them game shows this is what you could have had!!!
Yep no powerboat or caravan for us this summer Moyes will be lucky if he gets his bendy Bully and his BFH.

Yeah poor guy hope the 4.5m helps the healing process.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/7553678.stm
OK basically this kid who was playing in a Man Utd reserve game at 18 got injured and can't have a football career (boo f**king hoo) has now been given 4.5m  This is totally absurd, he got injured playing a game in which he knew he could get injured and because of the possibility that he could be a decent footballer he has been given 4.5m!!! This country is completely insane!!! If I was going to Uni to become a surgeon and then broke my hand meaning I could not operate does that mean that I am now owed all possible future earnings as a surgeon. He was only 18 ffs!!! Just get a proper job like anyone else accidents happen stop thinking the world owes you something!!! Must keep profanity to a minimum but what the f*ck was that jury thinking?
-
I would nominate Bardsen for shittest and one of the shortest careers. Also Bjarni's has been pretty short tho somewhat protracted. Anderson still wins I think, how many minutes did the rodrigo play for, can't have been many.
-
Ian Gwyn Hughes not cos I particularly dislike the man just because we always get stuck with him on our highlights, and it's blatantly obvious if they have sent him Match of the Day intend to give us a five second spot right at the end.

... after Liverpool 08 a lot more people of minority backgrounds will be coming to Liverpool.
Do you think this will necessarily be the case I for one had never heard of the capital of culture scheme before it went to Liverpool and everyone went nuts over it. Do you really think it will be promoted widely around Europe that Liverpool is
CAPITAL OF CULTURE!!!!!!! <_<
Or do you think most people will go "meh" I mean maybe I just haven't been paying attention but when this has come around before I haven't heard of it. Can anyone here honestly say that they knew what the previous Capitals of Culture were before Liverpool won the bid. I am betting no, I am sure that some people might know them now because of all the promotion there has been after Liverpool won the bid. I am not saying it will not be a good thing for Liverpool because it will bring investment into the city which it sorely needs but I don't think it will result in Liverpool being viewed any differently in years to come.

You missed out VDM and Pistone Craccer
Could also add Tiler Ward Ginola Gascoigne and Farelly to that list maybe Williamson and Barlow too
-
Oh ok. I couldn't do it but maybe i was just being a spaz. Did you do it on the 360 version?
Yeah it is the 360 version I did it on, always used to play Evo on PC but now my PC is getting old so I play it on 360 pity bout the crap premier league licenses tho

You can edit the lineups for national teams just go to edit teams then choose England for example and you can register players, I know cos I have put Barry and Richards in the England team.
No Fellaini Vs Wolverhampton?

I read about Fellaini's dental work last week and assumed it had been done before all of this kerfuflle. If I knew about it last week surely Advocat must have also known he was due for it. I don't really see the point in this anyway, we pay his wages it just smacks of spitefulness to me.
