  1. Kinda off topic but it relates to the Rooney issue, has anyone else seen those reports about that DVD that was being sold from when Rooney came back first time? It was on North West today on BBC about 'The battle of Everton Valley' cos supposedly the people who have been making these DVDs have got their hands on actual police footage of the incident. Good on Moyes for suing Shrek but I just hope this doesn't turn into some news story splashed across the back pages again that could cause the yob element to see the Utd game in a few weeks as an ideal time to renew old hostilities.

  2. My mate saw Trivium supporting Maiden and said they were crap, however some of the younger people who used to do work at the office where I worked over summer (around 15-16) thought they were amazing. Never heard them myself tho don't mainly go for Metal cept Tool, speaking of which I saw Mastodon supporting Tool in Manchester and thought they were crap future of metal my arse :P

  3. Some good points there Ruff even tho it does make us feel all inferior we aren't really the 'big boys' of the prem. I would be happy if we can consolidate this position of being amongst the top 5 or 6 cos according to Kevin Nolan on Sky Sports website today he thinks Bolton will be in the Champs league in a few years (Yeah Right). The fact is tho that teams like Aston Villa and possibly City (in future) are coming into some money and they think that in a few years they will be challenging for a Champs league place. My point is that not all of these teams can break into the elite set of clubs at the top of the Premiership, so do you think that teams like Arsenal or Liverpool will may face stiffer competition in future from these types of teams, or do you think despite all these clubs with new owners proclaiming they will challenge at the top the status quo will remain? If this is the case which I personally think it will be I think it would still be an achievement if we manage to finish consistently around 5th 6th cos even with the best will in the world I can't see us breaking into the top four in the next few years. The only thing that is possible is that now Dein has left Arsenal, Wenger could go and their little empire could crumble cos without Wenger they wouldn't be half as good and they aren't as rich as Liverpool Utd or Chelsea, plus they have that big new stadium to pay for.

  4. As I said I can't do much until May 16th when my uni exams are over but after that I am up for a game on Vegas, most people also have gears of war so we could play that 4 vs 4. Don't think I would be good at hosting as our broadband connection is shared between a few of us in our house, anyone got a really super connection?

  5. Now that Everton Lad seems to have got Xbox live there seems to be a fair few of us with Xbox live. I know I am only a silver member at present I have a one month card to use but am waiting for the Halo 3 beta on May 16th. Just wondering what games everyone has, and if there is a common game that everyone has so that we could maybe organize a TT game on something on Xbox live preferably after May 9th when my final uni exams finish. Anyway games I have that would be ok for a game on Xbox live are:

    LOST PLANET

    Texas Hold'em

    Virtua Tennis 3

    UNO

    Jetpac Refuelled

    TMNT 1989 Arcade

    TigerWoodsPGATOUR 07

    Gears of War

    PGR 3

    GRAW 2

    Rainbow Six Vegas

    G.R.A.W.

Crackdown - Can't play this more than 2 player but will give me access to Halo3 beta :)

Btw mods I posted this in the off topic section rather than the games section cos this section isn't exactly overflowing with new topics at the moment and if I put it in the misc games section no one would read it anyway. :P

  6. Would have been nice to get a win but Bolton is a difficult place to go and I would have probably settled for a point before the game, I also hope Vaughn is ok tho 5 live seemed to think it was a gashed ankle rather than a break so hopefully he should be ok.

Edit: On Score Moyes has just said he severed an artery in his ankle but not sure how long that will keep him out, at least it isn't a break.

  7. I bought an original nintendo DS for about £75 from Ebay, was quite happy till I noticed it had about 3 dead pixels on it. Put up with it for about 6 months then sold it for about £65 on Ebay was then able to put an extra £35 to it and get a brand new DS Lite. Was pretty happy considering I was able to sell it for only a £5 loss after about 6 months. Also dead pixels are really really annoying if anyone is thinking about buying a monitor online find out what their policy is regarding dead pixels. Some companys say you need about 5 or something for it to be considered faulty, if I had just spent £300 on a monitor I wouldn't be happy with that. SAY NO TO DEAD PIXELS

Sorry, this has turned into a rant about dead pixels but yeah most expensive thing I have bought a DS that I sold again 6 months later :)

  8. Yeah but Twix isn't using the word in the sense that it means between you are not essentially saying I am going to the shop to buy a 'between' the actual meaning of the word is irrelevant. It's like when you buy a mars bar you are not saying I am going to buy a bar made from a small red planet.

Twixi could still be a possibility or even Twixen :)

  9. Can anyone here say for sure what the plural of twix is. I say the plural of twix is still twix i.e. "I have many twix." However my housemate reckons that it should be twixes. I say this is wrong because if you have a single finger twix you have a twix but if you have a dual finger twix it is still a twix. My housemate claims that dual finger twix are called twix because twix is derived from twin. If you are using this logic this would make a single finger twix a twi.... or something. What do you reckon?

P.S. I realise that this is a pretty inane topic but I have work to do and thinking about this is distracting me.

  10. I can see a case for standing but I am naturally lazy and don't really want to pay £30+ to stand up for 90 minutes maybe if standing offered lower prices it would be a good idea but I doubt the supporter would see any cheaper tickets. If there was a standing section it might also mean that some of the people who insist on standing for 50% of the match would go there instead of in the seating sections. Even though I have voted against it I can see how it would have benefits but as I said I doubt you would see any lower prices and people who can't get in the standing area would probably continue to stand up in the seating area so I can't see it solving anything. I don't have any problem with people standing up at corners etc but it is annoying for example if some bloody 6ft guy is standing up and you can't really stand up because it is really harsh on the 4ft kid who is sat behind you. Also nice new logo Louis ooooo :)

  11. My housemate from two years ago is a Birmingham-born Indian he supported Liverpool. I asked him why not Villa or Birmingham City, he said he likes Liverpool and doesn't know why.. needless to say I hated living with him when they won the Champions League. I was the only Evertonian in the house, three didnt like football but all supported Liverpool because of the name.

I also think that they will fill their 80,000 stadium with ease. It's a sad time to be an Evertonian.. Liverpool opting for 80,000 all seater yards from their current stadium and it's bitter pill to swallow when Everton opting to move out of the city for 60,000 all seater (less than 20,000 seats). It's a crying shame.

I only know one Indian guy he is a cockney and he supports the shite too. Is quite funny if you ever watch a game with him tho specially standing in a pub in Manchester for Man U v Liverpool whilst he shouts Fakkin ewww come Liverpawwww in his cockney accent. Don't half get some funny looks tho understandably :)

  12. LOTR was going to be published as one book, but due to the time it was taking to write and the feasabiltiy of distribution it was split into three.

Exactly, the time taken to write it meant that it was split into 3 books. Calling the Lord of The Rings one book is like saying all of the Harry Potter books are 1 book, sure she may have already had the concept of what was gonna happen in the 2nd, 3rd etc one but they weren't written by the time the first one was published so you can't say they are the same book. The same goes for LOTR

  13. Technically LOTR is one book, it was only split because it was awkward to publish.

That is like saying star wars is one film yeah it all relates to one story but he completed fellowship before he completed two towers and then return of he king and each was published before the next one had been completely written so I don't think they count as one book. Also Ian if you could only take 5 albums meaning these are gonna be the only 5 albums you listen to ever again (or at least for a long time), would you take 2 Oasis and 2 Libertines albums? Seems a bit limited to me :P

  14. 1. At The Drive-In - Relationship Of Command

    2. Sigur Ros - ( )

    3. Nine Inch Nails - The Downward Spiral

    4. Tool - Aenima

    5. Godspeed You Black Emperor - F# A# Oo

    Luxury - Football

Book - Bret Easton Ellis - American Psycho

Also on the subject of the Lord of The Rings books I would probably take the Two Towers however this was my least favorite of the movies weird huh

  15. Very very bad news, we've got to hope his replacement steps up.

I thought the metatarsal was in your foot?

The metatarsal is in your foot but it's my understanding that you have several metatarsals depending on which toe you are looking at.

Also I thought "Cahill is broken" was a better title
