Think the first one especially has too much white on the only home kit I haven't bought over the last ten years was the one 2 one kit with loads of white on it I thought that one was godawful tho looking back on it that one with the little stitched white bit around the collar and the yellow blue and white stripe across the middle sucked pretty hard also. Tho I did buy that one back when we had good players like Farrelly Tiler Ward Williamson etc

Said it before and I will say it again it's bad but it isn't as bad as the Everton shirts first had a shirt that only lasted one season cos they had existed for 125 years or something then the next year it was 100 years in the top flight. Ever since then we have changed all of our kits every season and we no longer have stupid reasons for doing so. I think we are the only team that does this, I used to think Utd were the rip off merchants with their multiple kits for Champions league but now it seems we are worse. Mr Wyness buy a couple less pies and pass the profits on to us by keeping a shirt for more than 1 season!!!!!!!

Northampton Town have snapped up Everton youngster Mark Hughes for an undisclosed fee.

The Cobblers moved for the centre-half after seeing Luke Chambers leave the club to join Nottingham Forest, with Hughes penning a two-and-a-half year contract at Sixfields.

Town boss Stuart Gray told the club's official website: "Mark is a player I have known for a while and he is highly-rated.

"That is confirmed by the number of clubs who have been chasing him in this transfer window.

"We are very fortunate to have got him and I am sure he will be an asset for us.

"Everton were keen to offer him a new contract, but he is at the age where he needs to be playing first-team football."

Although there has been no official confirmation from Goodison Park, it looks as though Everton have secured the services of Manuel Fernandes but only until the end of the season.

An announcement on Benfica's website says that the 20 year-old signed an extension to his current contract that will keep him with the Portuguese giants until 2011. That would seem to suggest that they want to keep the international midfielder and that the Blues will have to find an rumoured £12m if they want to sign him permanently in the summer.

Nothing new there, except that Benfica's decision to extend his current deal for another four years is either an expression of their desire to retain him over the long term or a means of ensuring that they can name their price in the summer should David Moyes come knocking for a permanent transfer.

The loan deal provides David Moyes with another midfield option and gives Everton a chance to run the rule over the player before deciding whether he is worth such an enormous outlay — it is assumed that Benfica still only own 50% of Fernandes' registrations, the other half being held by Kia Joorabchian's Media Sports Investments group.
