Lescott is a superb player. I'd rate him above Curtis Davies, Michael Dawson and the donkey that is Robert Huth (why everyone harps on about Huth really baffles me).

 

Lescott is superb on the ball. Excellent at reading the game and scores the odd goal too. Shame the season we went up he didn't feature due to injury.

 

You have bought a fine player. good luck for next season, you won't be dissapointed!

Just seen on the offical site that we have agreed a fee for him and he is discussing personal terms

Beattie will get 9 andy will take over BT no.8

and hopefully Huth will take weir's number 5

Read in this mornings paper he will be ok for the world cup no muscle damage to his ankle

would be a fantastic signing. IMO he is one of the best young centre backs in the league if not europe. I hope we can complete the deal before the world cup because i can see him having a great world cup and we could face a bidding war after the world cup. If we can keep yobo it would give us a very solid look - on paper at least

huth would be better because he has premiership experience and has proven himself whereas Lescott has never played in the top flight and it would take him a while to get up to speed, and one thing we need next season is a good start to the season

it got to be one of the Brazilians for me, possible Ronaldo as someone else said there no matter how fat he is, he will be be bagging in the goals at the world cup.

he was quoted as saying last summer that if he were to leave palace he would love a move to Everton where he is close friends with Beattie, i believe Beattie has been in AJ ear at the request of DM and BK. Hope it works but i also hope they have left some money over for either Huth or Lescott as we badly need a centre back just as bad as we need a striker.

But on the positive side i believe this shows some ambition on behalf of the club, we still have a lot of area's to improve on in our club but this is a start in terms of accepting this is the going rate for the players that will improve your team.

I dont see him signing for anyone today as he is back with the england squad, if he leaves the squad again for another day it wouldn't be good for his chances of getting into the final squad. Still think we have a good chance of signing him.

Good start imo. to the signings. I hope plenty more to follow. Something that went through my mind was, maybe Davey has learnt from his mistakes in the transfer market as this signing seemed effortless enough compared to his previous dealings.

quality defender imo would form a strong partnership with Yobo. Very good at organising something that Yobo probably needs beside him

I think Gera is quality and Arca is an improvement on what we got left side and Upson because we are very short at the back. With the two wingers we would also have a bit of pace which we lack just add a keeper and a quality pacey striker to that list and we will be making progress.

I think Davies will come good as well and i also think VDM will improve us next year if we can get him fit and hopefully he will be when he has a full pre-season under his belt.

Was at the game last night and i have to say it was one of the worst game you are likely to see. I was impressed by Vidarrson and Victor up front but he didnt get much help. I think that it still might be a bit early to ask them to come in and make the first team better but no reason they couldnt get a run out before the end of the season

Per has to start this one if he doesnt i would have to question Moysie ideas. We need to win this one and imo there's a good chance to pick up a result here. If we can keep it tight at the back i fancy us to nick a goal. Villa are just as bad at the back as we can be.
