  1. lets get it straight.

hibbert fouled ellington outside of the box.

their keeper handled the ball WELL outside the box... red card, especially if its martyn committing a similar offence.

Today, evertons midfield looked light weight. No excuses, NOT ENOUGH FIGHT, NOT ENOUGH MUSCLE, NOT ENOUGH BOTTLE.

we were sandbagged by the referee. diabolic decisions and there is really no excuse for that kind of thing. i dont know what can be done about this problem, maybe technology can help the refs make the correct decisions.

weve gotta a lot of midfield players but your right we need a strong player who can hold the ball while the 'attack' gets positioned.

maybe carsley can do that job? and marcus missed a couple of opportunities. he's a hard worker and i admire him for that but he isnt a finisher unfortunately.

  2. Pierluigi Collina has explained why he controversially disallowed Duncan Ferguson's 'goal' for Everton in their UEFA Champions League qualifier with Villarreal.

    http://footballmsn.skysports.com/list.asp?...nel=premiership

Everton felt the decision, last August, cost them their chance to get back into the tie and, ultimately, a lucrative place in the group stages of the competition.

"It was because I've seen a foul made by another player - Bent," revealed Collina.

  3. i dont know what the cash situation is for buying but we do need another striker.

the more interesting question is who DONT we need?

mcfadden, osman and kilbane arent premier quality. I'd also add bent, he's a good hard working lad but..... but we dont have much upfront at present. what about lie ti? is he any good?

duncan ferguson and nigel martyn are at the end of the line. i dont see their contracts being renewed. pistone's days are over too i suspect.

  4. 7 out of 9!

and we're starting to look like the Everton of last season. battling for everything going and running non-stop.

beattie and vdm both looking good. and nigel martyn doing a brilliant job in goal.

and we still havent played our best side. naysmith, carsley & vaughn are all set to make a return this month. :(

  5. Thats basing our season on the last two games, why not base it on one game and say we will be champions, 100 % record 3 point from 3 points

because last season is over and done with we have concentrate on this season and i think that, at last, we are getting it back together.

also its recent form that counts. some people are totalling up points from games played over 6 months ago, that is irrelevant.

weve better against chelsea than any other english side. look what they did at anfield.

its time to stop looking over our shoulder all the time and judge the team by its current form. :P

  6. Can't we grow up?

Liverpool are a great side and have been an asset to merseyside for decades.

they dont have our history or class, but if they were crap brain dead dingos wouldnt waste so much time on gratuitous, childish rubbish worded with the playground expletives of a dumb 10 year old.

    this is an Everton website.

    and dont forget it!

  7. We are the only premiership side to take points off chelsea, we've won at birmingham and our loss to middlesboro of 0-1 looks pretty good now theyve stuffed manu 4-1.

Everton are a great club and deserve better support than theyve been getting from certain quarters. its when a club is having a tough time it needs its supporters and its then you find out who the real supporters are!

all the bellyachers who've complained about the manager and the team over the past month or so, (their mantra - 'excuse me for having an opinion'), are the kind of supporter NO TEAM NEEDS OR WANTS.

feel free to go & support chelsea.

most of us kept faith with moyes and the boys. and they are showing their commitment and what they can do.

and its moyeses much criticised new boys that are doing their stuff. this is just the start.

WE'RE BACK AND WE'RE NOT GOING AWAY!

  8. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/t...ton/4179494.stm

"Roma's Italy defender Matteo Ferrari is expected to complete the formalities of a one-year loan switch to Everton on Friday, BBC Sport understands.

The 25-year-old joined Roma in 2004 from Parma and made 35 league appearances last season.

"Ferrari will play on loan at Everton," his representative Giovanni Corci told Italian radio station Radio Incontro.

Corci added: "We are only waiting for club administrator Rosella Sensi to ratify this move."

Everton will have the option to buy the player's transfer rights next summer for £3.7m. "

roma and italy! he sounds like he's up to the job.

    AND IF THATS NOT ENOUGH!

"But he is expected on Merseyside to sign on Friday, with Everton also poised to revive a move for Inter Milan's Holland winger Andy van der Meyde. "

SOUNDS LIKE THE BOSS HAS BEEN BUSY!

  9. according to the sky report :

"Stubbs had a clause in his original four-year contract at Everton, which covered the illness, but The Toffees were only prepared to leave it out of the new deal if the 33-year-old visited an independent cancer specialist."

that sounds reasonable. why wouldnt stubbs want to see a specialist if he wanted his contract changed and an existing clause removed from it?

  10. for once luck was with us. it was a tough game that took a lot of grit and mental and physical toughness to get thru.

thats what was lacking against manu, i'm glad to see it back again. it was fighting spirit that won us a lot of points last season and gave us 4th spot.

big dunc was his usual self and it was good to see him play the full 90 minutes for a change.

yobo looked good. he seems to have recovered from last weeks mistake and he played well in defence.

phil neville looks like being a great buy.

even if they manage to get thru the defence theyve still got nigelmartyn to deal with.

a lot of teams will be happy to get a 1 - 0 win at the reebok.

  11. If we want to be taken seriously we have to move for someone like michael owen.

if we get a high profile hitman he will attract bigger gates and that will cover the cost.

baros was lpoops topgun last season. he would be a good buy.

i'm glad we didnt get bellamy. he's more trouble than he's worth.

there isnt much on the market and the top players will take a lot of persuading to move to Everton.

but only the best is good enough!

  12. I'am certainly not gonna fool myself that all is well at EFC because it clearly isn't but i can perk myself up with the fact its nowhere near as bad as this time last year .

right. were in better shape but for the current injuries. i fancy our chances. we did over achieve last year but people seem to be ignorant of the fact that we under achieved the season before.

because of that theyve underestimated us.

we are better than they think.

the manu game was gifted to them. i hope that wont happen again.

there was a lack of fight in the second half and that bothers me, becuase our fighting spirit was incredible last year.

if moysey can restore that we'll have another great season. :P

  13. To be honest, this game will be a good teaster to see how we are progressing.

First away game against a good but beatable team. I don't think we have played as bad this year as two home defeats indicated (we have played a couple of very good teams)

Winable, but a score draw againt the team who finished 6th last season will be a good result for us.

2-2 with Bent and Cahill getting a goal each.

i fancy Everton to win this one. the game against manu was gifted to them by silly mistakes.

    that wont happen again.

    2 - 0 for Everton. :P

  14. obviously green is something of an ignoramus. he hasnt done his research properly, or at all!!!

    http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/t...ton/4668911.stm

"And while Moyes says they must build on that platform, he is also realistic enough to appreciate how hard it could be to achieve.

"Everton have spent a lot of time just surviving over the years so it will take a while to shrug that off," he added.

"We can't suddenly build a squad overnight and become a top-six side every season - it will take time."

sounds like moyes has very realistic expectations.
