  1. Sadly that's just standard practice for Chelsea. Whenever they win it's 'we were the better side', whenever they lose or draw its 'we blew it ourselves'. Theres never any recognition or credit given to the other side. It's like they think they play amateurs each week.

I think United are very similar to be honest, only it's their fans more so than the players/manager.

And its no coincidence that those are my two least favorite teams. Who's head is bigger - Mouhrino or Van Gaal's? You need computers to measure that one.

  2. Is it me or does anybody else find it slightly bizarre that TH is a commentator in the BPL? In the states, he did the West Ham/Man U match yesterday on MSNBC (along with Arlo White). It's just, I dunno, weird. The other annoying aspect is that I don't want to hear a yank calling any BPL games - I hear enough of people every day of my life - Brits need to call the matches! I love the guy, but just stick to saving goals.

  3. I never thought I'd choose Joel over Tim a few weeks back, but I see no reason to take him out at the moment. He is developing quite nicely and the more he plays, the better he looks. His confidence has grown substantially in a short amount of time. The guy looks good!

Unfortunately, I think seniority is going to rear its ugly head and we will see TH back in short order. I would bet large sums of shillings that the clean sheets will be a thing of the past, too. I hope I'm wrong.

  4. On the whole, I'm ok with this. We didn't deserve to win, and it would have been harsh to lose.

I'm pleased with how we have gone back to basics. We've solidified at the back. The confidence will grow from these clean sheets, and from the lack of goals conceded overall recently. Stones and Jags it is. I'm not too fussed on the amount of direct balls getting played from the back as most of them end up being intercepted by the oppositions back line.

The down side to solidifying the back line is the lack of threat up top. Hopefully the right balance will come in soon.

I thought most of our players had tidy games today.

I wasn't too surprised to see Mirallas go off. And thought Lennon did quite well. Coleman looked much more active once Lennon came on. And actually, we came out more once Mirallas went off. Not sure if that's a coincidence.

We really really should have put much more pressure on Sakho. He's atrocious.

Lukaku's offsides really frustrated me. Happens to often. I'm also in the camp wondering what this stuff about pace is all about?!

Barkley looked nifty once on but should have come on at least 15 minutes earlier.

A decent day at the office. Nothing special.

Oh, and Stevie G was shite.

    What he said.

  5. I really like what I'm seeing today lads! Not setting up superb chances, but some nice passion and fire in the 1st half so far. Night and day from the style of play over the Xmas season.

LETS KICK THESE BITCHES DOWN THE BLOCK!!!!!!

  6. 1st 5 or 6 minutes was exciting to watch.....then it was like watching snails copulate. Can't say they were great, but they took the 3 pts. Ultimately that is all that matters.

Sometimes they have momentum like a speeding Porsche or AMG, then they hit the brakes to take a detour down a side street to find a different way to the destination, and most of the time usually get lost (get dispossessed). FFS take that car in speeding - yes you may hit something but at least you will sometimes get to where you need to be! I think this is the Martinez way and frankly its boring, predictable, and we lose valuable chances. Maybe a terrible analogy, but its what I was thinking about watching this match.

  7. Terrible game !

The problem with Mirallas, is going to test Martinez, we've lost the two players capable of splitting defences, Osman and Pienaar, now Mirallas looks like a walking time bomb.

Boring football once again served up.We deserve more. The captain of England in centre defence, one of the games brightest prospects next to him.Two full backs apparently worth £20million each, Englands best young talent since Rooney (Ross), and assorted other bloody good players, Lukaku, Naismith, Besic, Mirallas......where's it all gone wrong !

Mr Martinez, don't take my beloved Everton down.

I can't even say we are too good to go down, becuse going by Mondays showing..........we aren't.

I disagree with Barkley being the best English talent since Rooney - have you watched a match with Harry Kane recently? Ross is a joke compared to that lad. I don't buy the hype surrounding that kid - actions speak louder than words.

The entire team just looks so poor - I can't even believe it. They are becoming a parody of the 13-14 Everton FC.

I am at a total loss. Palace, Liverpool, and then Chelsea. I can't even imagine them mustering up 3 points combined from what they have displayed.

  8. I love Everton FC but they FUCKIN' SUCK. Sorry. My local high school team can play with more urgency and spirit than that display of moose diarrhea they showed tonight. How many chances does it take to even ATTEMPT a shot on goal? WTF.

This thing just keeps getting better and better - the only thing you can do is to laugh at it.

  9. We haven't played bad under Martinez. Recent games we have, not going to lie. We haven't managed to test the opposition. Other games though we have played well and either drawn or lost. We have been unlucky but I do believe in Martinez. He said himself in a news conference that the players aren't enjoying the way we are playing at the moment but it is his job to get them motivated again. We won't get relegated.

Re: relegation - don't be too sure. Its nice to have a positive attitude, etc but LOOK at the way we played against Hull. That wasn't Real Madrid, Barca, PSG, Bayern....it was Hull. Everton looked like dogshit, and I might be being kind. Enough said there. I love this team, players (except Barry lately), and even RM, but to think that we are safe at this point is false and overly optimistic. If the lads continue to play in the manner they have since the first match this season, there is no reason to think we won't be relegated. Things need to change, and change quickly.

If we go down the next two matches (and one of those is very likely) and the bottom teams muster wins, we are looking at a VERY scary position on the table. Only two matches.
