  1. I said no because I thought he would get it right... Have to say I think I may have got it wrong. Absolutely seething about tonight total lack of ideas and passion. Burnley and Leicester are gone but we still have to play Qpr and Villa and on tonight's performance I can't see us getting anything from those games... in fact I am now looking at the remaining fixtures and shitting myself about all of them. 10 days to next league game it's now or never for Bill !!
  2. Plain and simple yes!! Devoid of ideas and passion. every team that has to play us must be thinking certain 3 points, tonight was absolutely dire!! He will take us down absolute certainty!!!
  3. Agree, he has this head in the sand mentality that will see us go down if we don't improve, Also the fact that Bill is saying nothing leads me to believe his number may be up.... I say this because any time Moyes was under pressure he came out in support, this time the silence is deafening.
  4. Totally agree, this season has been an absolute travesty.!!With the squad we have we should be challenging for top four, and that's were I expected us to be. Martinez and only him is accountable especially when he carries on picking the clown in goal... Every time a ball comes in the area it causes the jitters and mayhem due to his inability to collect. Conversely with Barry the pensioner our play becomes painfully slow and predictable... These sideways .... me to you to me passes make me pull my hair out... It's like watching a Chuckle Brothers episode.!!! If he has the balls to drop those two and add width we will be ok.... I know the argument is we will concede goals but at least we will score more. Stay as we are and we go down simple as.
  5. I understand where you are coming from, but when we have played attacking, Barry has more often than not been starting. Very few times have we played Besic and McCathy as the middle two. With those two and no Barry we are instantly more mobile and less crowded in the middle as compared to playing a three. I would rather us have a go and score more than sit back and score none, at least we would have a chance. Also by dropping Howard we might stop a few of those goals against too. We are crying out for balance and width and it's not as if we haven't got the players to do this.
  6. I want Bobby to be more positive and start going for games from the off regardless of who we play. This defensive 3 man midfield shit isn't going to get us anywhere. Ok at times we might get exposed or caught on the counter but that will be outweighed by a more attacking threat. We won't win every game but I want to see us having a go and asking the questions rather than sitting back, conceding early then deciding to go for it. My team line up if available would be: Joel Coleman. Jags. Stones. Baines Mirallas. Besic. McCarthy. Oviedo Barkley Lukaku Better balance, more attacking threat and mobility and more importantly players in their own positions.
  7. I really want him to turn it around, but at present so many things are going against him chiefly the insanely high number of individual mistakes!. But he does himself no favours by ignoring the fact we are in a dog fight. Constantly praising the team when they don't deserve it is starting to affect his credibility. The stark reality is if he doesn't turn it around and soon, we could be really sucked in!.
  8. The fact he is still being stubborn and actively praising his team after countless inept and toothless performances, will only end in disaster either for him or us! The difference between the stubbornness of him and Moyes is that I don't think he can genuinely see the danger! Some sort of acknowledgement of our predicament would go some way to dispelling this head in the sand vibe he is giving off. If we don't manage at least 4 points from Stoke and Newcastle we will have no choice but to get shut.!
  9. Great shout that , but could only see it if he had a genuine desire to manage in England. I keep thinking Bilic may be a good replacement as is doing well at Besiktas who are a decent outfit.
  10. The question I would put out there is: Who would you have to replace Roberto if he were to be sacked? I have to say I am struggling!
  11. http://www.espnfc.co.uk/club/everton/368/blog/post/2325771/stubborn-martinez-not-making-best-use-of-evertons-strengths? I was definitely in the "No" camp, but this article has certainly got me thinking!!
  12. Great article, totally spot on and couldn't sum it up any better.
  13. It's imperative we keep him and has showed his potential in the European games. As much as I love Baines I feel he is slightly on the wain and is not the attacking threat he was... plus he is into his 30's. Whilst Garbutt has a way to go to reach the attacking threat of Baines in his pomp, he is in my opinion already a better defender and so highly rated at Finch Farm they believe he could play centre half too.
  14. Being new to the forum I have looked at this thread with great interest. Everyone has some very valid arguments about Lukaku and we are all entitled to our opinions. As long as he is an Everton player I will back him 100%. There may be times when I am absolutely pissed about his performances, offsides being a prime example but I believe that we have a decent striker in our team. I hate the tag World Class being bandied around for players, how many genuine world class players are there...... Messi, Ronaldo, Neuer etc. The Premiership is exciting but there are very few of these "World Class" players operating in it....Hazard, Silva, Toure, Aguero ?. My point is that we could never afford one of these types of player so we have to make do. 28 million was a lot of money for Everton to spend on one player but after his loan spell I like many other fans, was quite excited about his signing. Ok this season he hasn't hit the heights of last, but neither have the team. When the team has played well Lukaku has generally done so too. He has missed opportunities but at least he is in there to miss them, and we haven't had too many strikers doing that over the years.
  15. I think with Gibson back in the team with his range of passing.... the Mirallas goal being the prime example. That he will score more and I expect him to get at least 15 league goals and hopefully a hatful more in the Europa.
  16. Not got a problem with the substitutions which actually helped the balance of the team and our attacking play..... It's his constant faith in a shot goalkeeper which is irritating and baffling me ?? !!
  17. Good post and spot on.What he brought on against Leicester was the urgency and forward passing we need and been desperately missing......Let's hope he stays fit as I think he will create more chances for Lukaku et al.
  18. The next three games will tell us we're we are going. I just wish we could translate our European play to the League, I know we probably get more time and space in Europe, it's just the difference in the speed of our passing and movement that I just can't get my head around.
  19. I far from a doom and gloom merchant and normally a glass half full person, it just frustrates that the best squad we have had in many a year is floundering. I understand all the arguments ... second season syndrome etc, I would accept that if there was some fight in us. Admittedly there were some positives, but the negatives far outweigh those at present.
  20. I love your optimism and really hope it happens but in my nearly 40yrs supporting this great club I have rarely felt so down. I know we have had poor teams and seasons in that time, but after a great 13/14 and some good acquisitions pre season I felt that this may be a great one for us. I just get the feeling Roberto knows he is in over his head at present.... Hope I am way off the mark.
  21. I know what you are saying but even then you always felt we could fight our way out of any trouble.... Can you honestly say that now? And that was the season that we completely stopped after attaining enough points to be safe.... Something which never happened again.
  22. I agree with this, for all Moyes's issues we were never really in a relegation scrap so Kenwright just left well alone. This though is different Roberto can't seem to engender any response from his players. How many times this season have you really believed we can turn a game around??!! The next 3 games are both massive and difficult, and possibly some of the worst to face in our predicament. If we don't get at least 4 points we are really in the mire, I will always be positive and keep the faith but I genuinely believe we will only get one point after which his position may be untenable.
  23. The problem I have is his total disassociation with what is happening in games. He constantly praises players saying they are "Special" , " Phenomenal " etc and he's seems blind to the fact we are in trouble, his recent comment " we don't look at the table " just infuriates me!! I do and I am worried just like most Evertonians, two league wins in 14 is a disgrace and most managers would be gone with that record. So please Wake up Roberto !!
  24. This season has been like amateur time and it all started with piss poor preparation from possibly the worst pre season I have seen. The seeds were sewn then and we have since reaped what we deserve from that. Compare that to last season playing the likes of Juventus, Valencia and Real Madrid and playing well and we were flying into 2013/14. This season we got trounced by the likes of Celta Vigo and Padderborn and couldn't even beat Tranmere!! As my old Grandad used to say "fail to prepare , prepare to fail"! Making me very angry this topic!!
