After not being granted a work permit, the Brazilian midfielder was loaned to Malaga CF for 6 months initially which was later extended until the end of 2005/06 season. He is expected to be granted a Spanish passport by the end of the loan deal, which will mean he is no longer required a work permit to play in England.
