  1. Shows the difference between US and UK fuel prices Joe....costs me very nearly equivalent of $150 to get to Goodison and back, and I can do that in not much more than six hours (just short of 500 miles)...only 1600cc engine also, hardly a gas guzzler. Think autos are used far more in the states for some reason, very few on the roads over here.
I always knew gas prices were more expensive there but didn't know by that much. It almost seems doubled. You are right about cars being far more used here. Thats the only real thing people use to get around this big country, if they aren't flying. The public transportation here isn't very good at all, which is a shame.
  2. NY to SF would be a great drive. I have never been to the east coast so maybe one day I will get a chance to do it. Spent probably a good $150 in fuel but atleast I didnt have to pay for a hotel. Thats funny it was your first time driving automatic Mike. I cant drive anything other than automatic :( . It was a good drive and I get to make it again in September when I go back to school.

  3. ^^^ I definitely agree with the midfield. For us to do well in Europe our midfield is going to be the key. We already have a great core to work with we just need to add on. Hopefully we will be able to get a central midfielder and a winger this summer. Both would be very much needed for Europe.

  4. It is Canadian. Can do no harm I guess and maybe raise the profile a bit more...what's the footie scene like in Canada? Joe would probably be the man in the know....or Leesa or JD come to that. Report please, we're clean out of Canadian TTers I think.
I actually spend a lot of time in Canada since my girlfriend is Canadian. The scene is good but small. The sport is covered a lot more in Canada than the U.S, in terms of on tv and in the papers. This is the first year a Canadian city got a MLS team and the support is going great. If im not mistaken I believe it is the most popular sport played by kids growing up. For the size and location of the country they are producing some good players. The sport will continue to grow and I think it is a great we are looking there. Who knows maybe there will be another Owen Hargreaves out there.
  5. Reading between the lines He's waiting to see what offers come in, it will all depend on how much wages the Clubs can offer, so that leaves us out.

I think Moysey made the choice between Bartons baggage and the problems he might bring with him, or the professional integrity and versatility of Jagielka.

I'll settle for any one of those two, but i will be a bit pissed off if we dont get either of them.

I totally agree. A few weeks ago it seemed like we had a lot of options to explore with the likes of Barton, Nugent, Jagielka ect... The more time that goes by the less confident I am about this summer. I just want Moyes to bring in some quality players that will help improve the club, whoever they may be.
  6. Saw on toffeeweb that we are interested in a 3 million pound move for Frankie Simek. Although he is an American, I havent seen him play that much. I know he got voted Sheffield Wednesday's player of the year and he plays mostly right back. 3 million sounds like a lot but he is slowly starting to get some call ups for the national team.
