  1. i agree adam. if he is going to leave, which judging by the numerous reports since january then we can only let him go if we replace him instantly. Our priority is to improve and increase the squad as with the expected extra games our small (yet very efficient) squad simply won't be able to fight on 4 fronts.

We lost cahill and AJ for large parts of the season and we were only really competing in 1 competition!!!!

  2. VDM could produce the goods but 2 years is a long time to have waited to have only seen flashes of brilliace. he is a winger which is what we need but i think he needs to produce regularly and quickly and have a damn good pre season

i'm a beattie fan. like his passion and work ethic. i personally don't want him to go, but again he has to sort him self out, stay fit (and slim) and start banging shit loads of goals in pre season. i think he's found it difficult because we want our strikers to run onto the ball whereas he's more about being a target man.

Having said that if somebody offers a decent fee then for both we would and probably should take it

  3. if this were true it wouild be an excellent signing, which pushes us in the right direction. a player for now and the future who also has premiership and international experience. Just the kind of player we need.

Are we really in the market for him or is it the papers deciding that because he's a scouser we are interested??

  4. 17 goals for £7 million. thats an waful lot don't ya think?!?

from what i've seen with better players around him (england u21's) he seems quite good. the fact he keeps our very own vaughan out the team must say something about him.....or does it?

i'd be happy to have him but not gutted if we didn't. Sunderland will pay top dollar for players becasue they need to and they have the financial backing. So in this respect i admire DM for not paying whatever asking price any club wants. I think we should break the bank for the right player but not for a decent championship player who's not played in the top league or europe yet.

Having said that he'll prob win the premiership golden boot now just to spite me!

  5. Went to a few games this year and heard the 'new' song for mikel arteta, just wondered if anyone could fill me in on the words. tried to get a grasp of it at the time but couldn't. the entire lower gwaldys seemed to be singing except me and the mrs!!

  6. John Ebbrell - not sure why, but he was my favourite player as a kid. Possible cause he's like me, not great....but can do a steady job (kind of)

    Peter Reid - Everton hero

Kanchelskis - greedy, but superb player

Nev - agree with the above sentiments

Hinchcliffe - what a great left foot

Can't remember our proper glory days so most of my choices have to be 'modern'

  7. if the price was right it would be worth a go. it would give us another option, plus its another young player who would hopefully improve as time went on. At the moment i don't think he is the answer week in week out, but as DM seems to be able to spot ability/potential really well, i think he could do very well for us.

Sadly any transfer will have to wait until Big Brother finishes, cos thats not his cousin in there............its him in drag!! :P

And i've never seen them together before (a bit like Anita Dobson and Brian May sharing the same hair) Coincidence?

  8. A player who holds 'iconic' status amongst the Goodison faithful. And whilst i was a fan (when he was fit and hungry for it) i can't help have my good memeories overshadowed by his terrbile injury status (and consequent lack of games) and the amount of red cards he received. being passionate is one thing but 'regularly' being in the ref's bad books is hardly the mark of a team player who would do anything for the club.

Scored some great goals, scored some importnat goals.......but too infrequent for me. A fit Duncan ferguson could mess about the best defenders in the league, sadly fitness or temper all to often prevented him from doing so regularly. Shame really. but thats only my opinion......what do i know eh?!?!
