we played mediocre at best today. i reckon we played really well from the start of the match until blackburn scored. we kind of moped around after that. although we did pick up again towards the end of the half. we play okay second half. great work by arteta on the goal. i don't know why carsley started. pienaar/jags should have started instead of him. assuming the two signings are all sorted out by next weekend, i reckon the starting lineup should be: -----------------Howard------------------ ---Neville---Yobo---Lescott---Baines--- ---------------Jagielka------------------- --Osman/Pienaar---Fernandes---Arteta-- --------Yakubu-------Johnson-------------

we took ten shots, six of them on frame. we just need to finish better. yobo didn't even get on target from inside the six yard box. i say put pienaar in, give him a chance to do what he did for ajax. i'll be surprised if he doesn't get put in at least sometime the second half. maybe we could do with anichebe in there also.

why didn't pienaar start? i reckon he should have been in for carsley

i read somewhere that he wants to end his career at his "beloved everton" dunno if it's true, but as to would i accept him back i'm still undecided. he'd need to give a huge public show of faith to everton.

he's actually started the last two games coming off in the 62nd minute in the first and completing the full 90 in the second. but i see what you mean about the media overcovering the situation

just an update on his progress in the US: Becks made his first start for the Galaxy against DC United in a Superliga (4 Top MLS teams, 4 Top Mexican League teams) match. he scored a goal off of a free kick from about 25 yards out and assisted the another as the Galaxy made it through to the final by defeating DC 2-0. The Following Saturday, David made his first MLS start against the New York Red Bulls. He had two assists within the first 8 minutes of the game off of a corner kick and a free kick from the right side of the box. He also had another "uncredited" assist as the Galaxy fell 5-4.

definitely see your point it this. could be some truth in it as well. if someone of yak's skill had mikky and timmy (fingers crossed on manny as well) supplying them from behind and partnering with johnson (who we all know is class) and maybe even vaughn and vic then we'd have one of the best groups of strikers/attacking mids in the premiership

he was quoted earlier in the summer saying that he would love to move back to the premiership after failing to break into the first team at barca

A post on football-rumours.com seems to think that Jerome Thomas is a probable Everton signing. WTF?!?! this is the first i've heard of this as well as the first i've heard of the player (don't mock me, i'm still learning!) what are your guys' opinions on this???
