just an update on his progress in the US:

Becks made his first start for the Galaxy against DC United in a Superliga (4 Top MLS teams, 4 Top Mexican League teams) match. he scored a goal off of a free kick from about 25 yards out and assisted the another as the Galaxy made it through to the final by defeating DC 2-0. The Following Saturday, David made his first MLS start against the New York Red Bulls. He had two assists within the first 8 minutes of the game off of a corner kick and a free kick from the right side of the box. He also had another "uncredited" assist as the Galaxy fell 5-4.

Reports that Boro although reluctant to let Yakz go will do so to the tune of £12 million. The price is high but worth it in my opinion, he is a proven premiership goal scorer and if he can bang them in for a shite club like boro imagine how many hed get for the bluez!

definitely see your point it this. could be some truth in it as well. if someone of yak's skill had mikky and timmy (fingers crossed on manny as well) supplying them from behind and partnering with johnson (who we all know is class) and maybe even vaughn and vic then we'd have one of the best groups of strikers/attacking mids in the premiership

A post on football-rumours.com seems to think that Jerome Thomas is a probable Everton signing. WTF?!?! this is the first i've heard of this as well as the first i've heard of the player (don't mock me, i'm still learning!) what are your guys' opinions on this???

No doubt i'd love to see another class midfielder, but under the circumstances we're in, another midfielder is the least of our worries right now. I'd be more than happy if we could sign this guy under other circumstances. But what i don't understand is if we can splash the cash like this (if this is really true) then why are we not spending 10mil on an AMAZING striker?!?! Midfield is our strongest area right now and with the impending arrival of Baines our defense should be complete. Nothing against the player because he's an absolute wonder, but our money is in the wrong place right now! And why was this money not there when we were bidding for smith?!?!
