  1. Blue Norwegian here!

I had different feelings when I saw we're linked with Trond Olsen.

He's not the kind of player we need right now (a striker), but he's a quality player indeed.

If he's good enough for the Premiership, I don't know. We've all seen Kristoffer Hæstad fail miserably at Wigan, and he was supposedly good enough.

But Moyes does have a way of bringing up players and maxing their potential,

so in the long run, I think Olsen would be a great add.

The Norwegian league is not very expensive buying from either. It would suit even Kenwright ;)

He's very quick on foot, technical, and scores a bunch of goals.

But that is in the Norwegian league. I've seen him play for Bodø/Glimt this year, and I've been impressed by what I've seen. I would definately have him play in a Blue shirt!

By all means, I'm not talking South American technical qualities. He is a Norwegian after all.

And us Norwegians are not exactly known to be the most agile and technical players.

We all seen Tore André Flo. But Trond Olsen is kinda the opposite to the "true Norwegian" in his playstyle. Olsen has also made it to the national team in the recent games. Good and cheap add :)

  2. How anyone can dismiss French players is mistifying .

Take a look at French players who have had great success in our leagues .

Have we forgotten the legendary Eric Cantona , or Didier Drogba ?

Here is a list ( out of date but so what ) of French players who have had careers here , and we can add some on top to bring it up to date

Arsenal (5) Gilles Grimandi, defender/midfielder; Thierry Henry, forward; Robert Pires, midfielder; Patrick Vieira, midfielder; Sylvain Wiltord, forward

Swansea city (2) David Romo, midfielder; Mamady Sidibe, midfielder

Although the above list is well out of date , it highlights players who have had careers here , and some of them have been top of the tree .

Add to it French players who are currently playing premiership football , and there is no mistake that French players can make it here , if not , like some have done , become actual stars of the premiership :)

among all those players... how could you forget our own Mickael Madar! played for us in the 97/98 campaign.

and also we've had Ginola in our squad.. when was that? and now we have Louis Saha.. that should make three!:)

    have I forgot someone?

  3. Hm.

My question is how hard can it be just to sign another Championship player like with Jagielka, Cahill and Lescott??

    They've done brilliant!

Sign SOMEONE..! doesn't need to be a £15 milllion pound guy with a stupid agent and a world famous renown..

Moyes is the master of buying players.. Championship-players can't be that hard to come by??

sign....huckerby!! or someone... for the numbers...

  4. I am watching Ireland's game versus Norway.. and watching Finnan..

what do you think of him? Presumably unsettled at Redshite, and I think he'd become a good right back for us..

    better than Hibbert.

How much do you think he'll be valued at? £3 mill? max £4 I'd say..

    So.. fire away :-)

  5. I start to get kinda anxious about the lack of signings.. so I was just wondering...

how hard can it be just to sign one or two squad fillers just to be sure we won't lack senior players for the start of the new season?

I mean.. transfers don't HAVE to be top quality all the time! at least not in our (I think) desperate situation.

    How hard can it be?

I know that Moyes only wants the "right players for the club".. but shouldn't we fill up our squad at least?

All the other clubs in the league have signed squad fillers this far. But we haven't.. I just wonder.... why?

Just another player.. don't care who. Is that really so hard? :-/

  6. I thought Pienaar did well for us on the left wing last season, how could you forget him.

Hm. well. what I actually thought was that he's not a pure left winger. he can also play right and central. but so can vdM. I guess I just forgot about him. but he's absolutely better than nothing :-)

  7. I so much want him in our midfield! Him, Moutinho and Fletcher! please bring all three of them in!

Then our midfield is complete, and we only need a right back, Ochoa and another striker.. Bent?

We still don't have a left winger, except van der Meyde yet,though...

    Say

    Cana £5 mill

    Fletcher £3 mill

    Moutinho £15 mill

That is £23 mill on our midfield.

Than we could probably not buy Darren Bent.. and Ochoa will be expensive too. Around £5 mill I guess.

Bent on loan could work... Milito on loan...?

  8. Why so sceptical about Darren Fletcher? He's a play who fits Everton's bill perfectly! Hard-working Scot!

There's always a reason he is a Manchester United-player for the moment.. and £3 mill is nothing for him.

We need numbers in midfield.. Fletcher, as I see it, would be an ideal replacement for Carsley. no doubt.

Secure him and Moutinho. then we can start the season.. (with hopefully a few more ;) )

  9. This is the worst I've ever heard.... selling McFadden... selling AJ... selling Baines...

are we selling the whole freakin' club!?

Baines has only been here one year and has struggled with injuries. He will shine in due time!

We don't need to trade players (Baines for Warnock)! We need new signings ASAP!

  10. Moyes did a great job getting Fernandes on loan the first term. This term he has not been very good,though.. for some reason I don't know.. so I think Moyes knows what kind of quality we need in the middle. He just needs to get that hard working, goalscoring, paced winger..... what about giving Kanchelskis a second try?

  11. We desperately need a creative winger in order to succeed.. I watched today's game. It was not very good. Arsenal did not play very well, and neither did we. There's a pure lack of creativity out there. Passing the ball to Arsenal-players, holding the ball whenever we get the possibility of a counter-attack. what's wrong?

    Are the players tired? Maybe..

Injuries? Maybe.. Cahill and Arteta are out..

But why not use Baines on the left?? Put Neville down as a right-back, Hibbert out, and Baines up on the left wing side. At least that would bring us some cover for McFadden and some creativity. Right now, there's not much joy in watching our beloved Toffees. Yakubu missing every chance he gets. Johnson running after the ball.. yey! very much fun to play football when you just run after a ball. No wonder the rumours are circulating.

And Fernandes. I don't get him. He's not very solid, is he? I don't think I'd buy him this summer. Will probably cost a lot as well. Let's go for Arshavin as a right winger and Källström as a central midfielder. And maybe Sean Davis as a replacement for Lee Carsley. I still wish to see Lee Carsley next year, though. IF, and only IF, both him and Phil Neville don't play midfield. Only one. So we need another midfielder. Maybe two.

And what about another striker as well??

  12. I'm so sick of all the mourning over Fernandes, blaming the board for being a smokescreen for the move to Kirkby!

And when people start new posts about "what midfielder are we going to sign now?" and the like,

it always boils down to the same: "couldn't care less. he's not as good as manny anyway."

    STOP IT! PLEASE!

I agree. Manny would've been an excellent aquisition to the club. Probably a world-class player in the near future. And I don't like the fact that he signed for Valencia. Understand him, but don't like his decision. Playing in Champions League is better than in the UEFA-Cup, so I have no problem understanding why he did what he did.

And was it the board's fault? Do you really think that the board would not do everything possible to sign him in?? Of course they would! But we all have to face the fact (and we all should know) that Everton is a lesser club than Valencia! He made his decision. Don't let your anger out on the board, David Moyes or anyone else involved in the conflict. The official Everton-site even said they had sorted the deal out with the FA. Apparantly, even the FA can't be blamed.

Don't you think Moyes and Kenwright want to add to our squad as much as we do?

And I think they're doing a great job! Get over Fernandes! We have Baines, a future England-star,

Jagielka who can cover for Carsley in the future and Pienaar who probably will add another dimension to the Everton-midfield. I think Pienaar will be great when going into Europe.

    About that...

I know we need another midfielder before the deadline. Up front we will probably get Yakubu on Wednesday. But we desperately need another midfielder. Creative? Yes, if we can get one.

But we don't have much time to finish a deal now. I bet Moyes and the staff are doing all they can to secure signings! They know as well as us that we need a bigger squad to fight in Europe.

And about that "couldn't care less. he's not as good as manny anyway"-quote; you have now seen how long it takes to conclude a deal in these days. No club would want to let go of a world-class player now, just a couple of days before the deadline. That would at least cost us a lot of pounds.

What we should do now is focusing on getting a couple of players (including Yak) who can fill up our team. One midfielder and probably one extra striker. And we already have a great team, guys. Stop crying!

But, for the last time, get over Fernandes! He's gone. We're Evertonians for crying out loud..

don't get your expectations up.. no matter what! That's what I've learned, at least!

Again, don't let your anger out on the team we love so much! And when I say team, I also mean the staff. They're as much part of the team as the players.

And to all you Liverpodlians... I'd rather walk alone.... :-)

  13. The Nugent-deal is gone.

    The Smith-deal is gone.

    The Braaten-deal is gone.

    The Vogel-deal is....put on ice?

    The Gonzales-deal is...a risky deal.

i dont understand any of the above. when did we attempt to sign smith, nugent and braaten ? surely unless the club say we have bid for players, we are not in for them ? the vogel deal could be completed this week for all we know, the club dont need to inform us of progress.

Why is buying a midfield playmaker with european experience risky ?? everybody has been crying out for midfielder to take the pressure off of arteta and he could be the one. Also, AVDM could well be a huge asset next season

If you take a look at the goals scored last season, apart from AJ, most of the goals came from the midfield which shows our midfielders are happy to push on and weigh in with the goals.

sometimes we do try to grind out 0-0 draws but whats wrong with that ?? chelsea hardly go out all guns ablazing neither do the RS, they finish in the top 4 every season !! you cant win every game

Well. David Nugent was a hot topic earlier this summer. But we didn't get him. Maybe just as good. I think £6 mill for him is a bit too much. To Alan Smith I'm also a bit sceptical, but I think he could've added depth to the squad, at least as we need another striker. Braaten was just a rumour. As a Norwegian myself, I don't think he would be a good addition, but he rumour was cool enough. hehe. He's been to much on the bench in Rosenborg. He will probably be a flop at Bolton, but I hope not:-) Vogel I really hope for.. I like him. And I would like him to be an Everton-player. But maybe not if we sign Lucho Gonzales? With "risky" I mean it would be risky to use such a great amount of money on a midfielder when we already have plenty of them. Why not use £11mill on a world-class striker?

But anyway. Lucho is a world-class midfielder. I really hope we'll get him. But we also need a striker.

And I say that is the number one concern...
