  1. Yes. Then we are left with Jags - who will have recovered from a *major* injury - and Distin. Yes, JH can play there so then what - back to Hibbert and Coleman as the only natural RB's? Sure, Neville can play there and Gosling can fill in but Gosling will be needed to cover attacking positions since that is where he is best.

    THEN

What if Jags, Distin or JH get injured then we are even worse off and oh, btw, this is just after the busy Christmas period so injuries are very, very possible.

I just think that we could be left very vulnerable at the back. Maybe we can get a loan or a free agent in there for cover?

  2. What team would you play? This is mine.

    1.Howard

    2.Heitinga

    3.Baines

    4.Yobo

    5.Distin

    6.Neville

    7.Pienaar

    8.Cahill

    9.Saha

    10.Felliani

    11. Billy

Give Rodders a rest and first clean sheet of the season 0-2. Saha and Cahill

I can't see Billy or Heitinga starting yet, sadly. Other than that I agree with the line-up.

Well done Trev numbering the team like we where back in the sixties ... 1 to 11, nice one. ;)

    --------------howard-------------

    heitinga--- yobo----- distin--- baines

    billy--cahill--neville--fellaini--pienaar

    ----------------saha -------------------

Yeah, i'll go with that team, the bench is looking better

Subs --- NASH- OSMAN- HIBBERT- RODWELL- JO- YAKUBU. :o

The bench is looking great isn't it Bill? Though can't we have seven subs in the Prem now? If so what do we think, one of the youngsters like Baxter maybe?

There is something that I notice with that subs bench, though, is that there is only one defender there so if you add Jags then we're still very stretched unless Moyes thinks the 17-year old Mustafi can come through.

  3. Tell Cesc Fabregas about size and strength.

Now I'm not saying Baxter is as big, or as good as Cesc but this perception that you need to be a particular size or have so much strength to play in something like the League Cup or even early FA Cup is something of a falsehood IMO. Especially if you take into account the possibility of him playing off a lone man up front in a floating role.

Hopefully Moyes will have the testicles to give Jose his chance in the two domestic cups this year.

  4. I get that nagging feeling that Felli is carrying an injury, which could be part of the reason for his fitness levels not looking to good but either way I think that once he sorts that and his tackling out (even the best player in the Prem - Essien - had to adjust his tackling in his first couple seasons) then we could very well see a true star of world football playing for us. I genuinely believe he has that potential.

  5. Did I just read someone saying Cahill's passing and control is poor? I mean, I'll admit it is not the best of the best but I've seen it live in a Blue shirt and it is most certainly not poor IMO.

As for Felli - nonsense to the money, he is still just a kid and it is my personal belief that he will go on to be a very good player for Everton FC.

  6. Moyes is still learning. Even Guardiola and Mourinho have faults and DM is still a relatively young manager, especially when you consider the ages of the 'top 4' managers . . .

Seriously, look up that little fact and tell me what you see.

So I think he can improve, yes, but for what he has done for our club and is still striving to do only convinces me more and more that he could be a top class manager for us. I just feel sorry for him whenever I think about the state of the club's finances.

  7. England can win it for one reason - Capello.

I am so happy to be able to legitimately support Holland in a competition :P

Brazil look pretty awesome when you consider that they're not playing in the most spectacular fashion just yet - also, I would be overjoyed to see Ronaldo and Adriano return!

Spain. Well, Europe's strongest hopes probably but I get the feeling their old stage fright might return.

Got a sneaky feeling that Italy might pull off something, maybe even a Final appearance. I mean, they've got arguably the best goalkeeper on the planet and ze Germans got to the final with the same thing seven years ago.

Here is a bloody thought, though -

The World Cup without Messi or C. Ronaldo.

Very possible but so, so strange eh???
