Everton (from): Roberts, Cummins, Barnett, Murphy, McCarten, Peterlin, Orenuga, Akpan, Codling, Sheppard, Dobie, Davies, Kinsella, Thompson, Garbutt, Donegan, Watson.

It seems that the majority of players from the Youth Cup team won't be featuring at all. Maybe they're being rested for the quarter final game against Blackburn.

  3. I know they've had a fair few clean sheets but that video doesnt do alot of favours for our young keeper? whats he like normaly Noddy?

I haven't actually seen many games, but from what I'm told, Davies is a solid keeper. I think a big part of the clean sheets is the quality of the defence too. They've been tight at the back for the most part.

  4. This is still Bilyaletdinov's first season so it's probably taking him time to adapt his game, but he has certainly got ability. Personally, I don't see a problem with a player who is used to playing several positions - let's not forget that Moyes has had a nightmare with injuries and having players who can play several positions is a big help.

  5. There are many strong rumours surrounding are potential signing of Senderos who in my opinion will never set the world alight. If we do sign him it will send a very poor message out to the likes of Shane which I think is wrong move.....give the kids a chance especially when they are as good as this lad

It seems Senderos has officially signed on loan. I guess this allows for Shane to continue playing games for the youth and reserves (he had a decent game against Brighton there, scoring a penalty in their 2-0 victory), or alternatively he could go on loan.

  6. great to see the support for the young lad... his dad said shane was nervous before the game, but setttled into the game well, i thought he didnt look outta place, loved the free kick he floated into jo, then another great ball out wide!!! he can only get better and stronger!!! well done moyes for spotting the talent!!

Aye Mark, that free kick to Jo was brilliant, as was most of his passing in the second half, when he settled into the game.

  7. Was it just me, or was Coleman limping a bit toward the end of the AEK game? Has there been any official word on the fitness of the injured players?

The midfield will have to work extra hard to limit Spurs' chances, especially with the weakened defence.

I think Hibbert is riding the crest of a wave at the minute. In one of his interviews he sounded like a philosopher! He commented on how he loved the 'art of defending' and would relish the task of marking Crouch.

  8. Yeah you're right Grarghsies, I think the FAI needs some new blood too. Delaney is a bit of a clown. Did you see the video of a press conference where Pelé was talking about 'Henrygate' and through the whole thing, Delaney sat there with a perplexed look on his face while he proceeded in his attempts to catch flies with his mouth?

Need to shake up that under-age set up as well - Don Givens is managing the 21s into the ground and Seán McCaffrey isn't exactly the most inspiring manager. Either that, or the youth isn't talented enough... GET DUFFY IN THERE!! :D

  9. Don't envy you lol

Aye, bit of a terrible situation with Derry at the minute, but I think it could be the right thing for the club. New blood and it will force Kenny to pick and give contracts to some of the very talented young players that actually come from the city instead of paying ridiculous amounts of money to average players from Dublin and places! This generation has seen a fair few talented players from Derry move to England and Scotland. Darron Gibson is probably the biggest one, he's at United. Patrick McEleney (Sunderland), Dean Jarvis (Aberdeen) and young Cormac Burke (Ipswich) are all friends of Shane's and a few other lads have been getting attention, like Darren McCauley, who Blackburn and Celtic are looking at. If Derry could harness the talent that's there, they'd be doing well!

  10. A classic thread eh MikeO? I'm glad I'm a part of it Haha!

StevO, I gave up supporting English football teams a good while back and the only club I'd really support now would be Derry City. Saying that though, I still watch English football and obviously, since Shane is playing for Everton, I've been following them with quite some interest over the past year. Half the family are Liverpool and United supporters though, so they'd need to see sense and start following the Blues!

  11. I think I was more nervous that Shane was tonight. Glad to see him give a good account of himself! Seamus was excellent tonight as well! Hibbert was solid too - he may just be a better centre half than right back......
