You'd think Moyes would be hoping to recoup some to most of what he got from Bily and Victor has just about turned into a must sell while we can get anything for him. Damn shame, watched him in a game against Villa last season and he terrorised them, thought he had turned the corner then. Otherwise our best hope is Bill sticking 'Cats' back on for another season and having Vic and a few others in the team star in it.

Was as gutted as anyone with the Villa result but if two of the many near misses we had drop and we are singing an entirely different tune. Dont think you could argue that Friedel made some top notch saves as well as his goal leading a pretty charmed life. Backing us to get it together this time 2-1.

Can i play devils advocate for a second here and ask why there has been so much criticism of Arteta? Watching the game (mind you through bleary eyes at 1am on a Monday morning in Perth) I couldn't be overly critical of his performance, particularly when compared against the rest of the team. His delivery for the 'yak back' goal was fair... Timmy missed a fairly straight forward chance from a corner... i think you have to criticise our finish rather than our delivery on this occasion. I actually thought it was one of the few times, if not the first, we have looked the better side on the park for the majority of the match. We only need to play similar to the borough game and finish our chances to put Wigan away comfortably.

Mate i'd love Cana at the club, just the right amount of mongrel and skill to really make a mark with us. But the Arsenal interest worries me. It screams Arshavin all over to me. 13 mil rated player gets interest from Arsenal, Spurs, Barca and starts demanding 20 odd. I like the fact M'bia has been our baby for a while now and sounds keen. 5-7mil is about the right coin. Our speculation is hypothetical i know...And you probably prefer a proven player like Cana... But M'bia has scope, and you have to back Moyes judgement. Financially he might be the better option moving forward.

Just a thought... BBC site has Moutinhio Milito and Mbia listed as real chances. Should we sign these 3 before Blackburn, would the last 6 weeks of checking the gossip rags, waiting and hoping for the big signing be all worthwhile? Would all sins be forgiven? All 3 are class players... proven record and probably the positions we need to fill the most. It's a big if i know... but for positive thinking's sake?

I would think that with the side the way it stands that any addition across the midfield would be a good thing. And 3mil in the current climate of ridiculous transfer fees is not a huge amount for a young player with Eureopean football experience and, you would hope at least, the possibility of him still being on the up.

Should we get 15mil for him and throw that back into a Bentley at the same price it seems a pretty fair result... a fair few 'if's' there i know.
