gravesen goes first - SCORES
-
spurs also gone to penalties
-
ok..........anyone else chicken-shit like me and not planning on watching the shoot-out???
-
Use Yahoo.co.uk live scores or skysports live scorcenter
or www.xscores.com -- very good
-
gravesen on for johnson
obviously to take the pen, but would have thought johnson would also be one of the five?
-
Certain...
"if the two teams score the same number of
goals at home and away, extra time of two periods of 15 minutes shall be
played at the end of the second leg. If, during extra time, both teams score
the same number of goals, away goals count double (i.e. the visiting club
qualifies). If no goals are scored during extra time, kicks from the penalty
mark (see Article 16) determine which club qualifies for the next stage."
....hopefully it won't apply .
I was there, we missed the first one as well....and we had teflon in goal.
thanks for that, still think it's illogical though...
was also at the bristol city game, tough place to find a pub for away fans...think we also missed a pen in ordinary time
-
2nd half extra-time just started - anichebe on for pienaar
-
don't forget we took care of bristol city on pens a few seasons ago!
-
Still applies....if they score one we need two.
you 100% sure? always thought it fell away after the 90 minutes -- unfair otherwise that we only get 90 minutes to get the benefit of an away goal, but they get 120 minutes to do so? negates part of the advantage we're meant to get from having tghe 2nd leg at home...
-
extra time to follow........please no pens!!!
-
omigosh, yakubu heads a foot wide!!!
let's just see out injury time and finish them off in extra-time without the fear of the away goal rule
-
agreed that the comments were way out of order in the context of the rules...
however, I think the rules are a bit stupid too: not being allowed to criticise refs is ridiculous, just as a booking for taking a shirt off is...
also I agree with Dodge -- utd were hard done by and that was a definite penalty; we bitched and moaned when carragher got away with 2 earlier in the year, let's not be hypocrites by ignoring utd's claim (even thought they a bunch of pricks )

I'd love to see:
howard
jags yobo lescott baines
arteta pienaar osman
cahill
yak johnson
won't happen, but that's the most attacking we can get and at least go down giving it a real go.....
still, I reckon 1-1
-
just a reminder to everyone who thinks we've got anymore than a slim outside chance of turning this around:
they score 1, we need 4
I expect an improved performance (of course it can't be any worse) just like against dinamo but without ever looking like winning the tie -- 2-1 to us yak and arteta
-
Moyes was havin a belt buckle when he said we can win the cup!
WE believed it, but he obviously didn't given tonights tactics
-
Note I said with that performance, not how we know we can play
okay then I do agree!!!
-
We'd struggle to compete with Sunderland with that 'performance'.
my opinion is summed up by disagreeing with this comment: against sunderland we will at least TRY to play football, not the negative crap that we saw tonight. and when we try to play football, we actually aren't too bad!!! unlike the fucking shambles we were tonight.
Fiorentina (home) 2nd Leg
in Match Days

guess if we EVER got pens in the league, we'd at least have had some practice...
still the guys did well tonight, I for one gave us no chance of getting back into the tie...
we all know penalties are 50/50, bollocks to that
