  1. 1. After a good season last year are you expecting similar or better and does the Arsenal result change your opinion or was it just one of those days?

It was just one of those days...the game was only really killed after the 3rd goal....i will say my expectation is the same as last year with a better run in europe....but maybe it should be higher, after all, last time aresenal creamed us on the opening fixture, we finished 4th....

    2. Due to a serious lack of resources many people regard the Clarets promotion as a miracle. Now that we are in the Premier amongst the money men, Burnley have kept the spending low and capped player’s wages to 15k per week. Is this a good idea?

Yes, for this season, but next season (should you survive), the cheque book should realy come out.

    3. Which Everton player should we worry about the most?

After saturday i am not sure exactly but I will say pienaar...

    4. Are there any Burnley player’s that you have heard of and rate?

Robbie Blake is the only one...burnley legend.

    5. What position do you predict Everton will finish this season?

    6th (ahead of man city)

    6. What position do you predict Burnley will finish this season?

19th...sorry but there are too many experienced teams around the bottom i.e. bolton, wigan, blackburn, sunderland... Wolves to prop up the table come May.

    7. Finally please predict the score for our game?

3-1 Everton - continuation from our kick up the ass.

  2. Indeed, we will be starting the season with the same side that finished the last so we shouldn't panic and get too downbeat and in one sense, it should theoretically give us a better start to the season - whilst all the other teams around us tinker around trying to find the best 11 and way to play with each other we will be ready from the off (fingers crossed).

BUT....for the sake of continued progress, we must find a new 1st choice RB...the one we have at the moment is a million miles off being a top class, international standard player. We need the quality that baines brings us on left, on the right. Also, with our history of injuries, we really need cover at CB - yobo is off in January and jags may have a relapse of his injury so we MUST keep lescott and get a cover CB. If we dealt with these 2 problems, we could all rest a bit easier.....instead we are chasing an injured midfielder (o'neil)

Hopefully, we will get throughy the transfer window (which is becoming a right pain in the ass) with the players we need and the ones we have already, and we can finally settle into watching us show city how money doesn't buy you success....COYB

  3. Basically C.T.I.D, the modesty you started with in your earlier posts seems to have disappeared in recent posts. Its understandable you will want to get defensive of your team, but don't let it cloud your judgments and take over your comments. There are fans of every team that think they are the greatest team in the world and that they are going to win everything under the sun - everton are no different - but, in 'reality', I would say that the majority of evertonians are expecting a 4th/5th/6th/7th ot 8th place finish next year, whereas it seems city fans think they are gonna win the prem, fa cup, league cup, europa cup.....no wait, thats not right  .... I think the best comparison we have of a club making shed loads of 'big signings' is at real madrid - im very interested to see how they fair in a league that is as competitive as the SPL. Does anyone think they will win La liga, champs league, copa del rey just because they have ronaldo and kaka??? And don't forget, what effect/success squad tinkering has (see Ranieri and 'Manuel' Benitez)

Now, lets all just come back down to 'reality' and be friends again....after all, we have one of your rejects (jo) and you have one of ours (dunne) ....common ground me thinks.

    Peace and Respect Dude

  4. Yeah i think that was.....erm...was it you guys??? oh yeah i remember. You made it there once and you "MAY" even get there again (every 10 years or so). But you will simply never make a sustained challenge like the big4 do year in year out. And like City will when we get rolling....

....what do we think guys (and gals?).....!!!!!

  5. its just his way to cool our expectations...its understandable that to get a squad player who is good enough to be a 1st team regular, but not have big wage and transfer fees is difficult - they're not many of them. I'm beginning to accept that the season will kick off without any more signings, but we will make one or two before sept 1st (Senderos/yebda/albondo/hunt/ledly/ryan taylor?????)

  6. Sky Sports are running their 'picks' article everyday leading up to the new season. Each pick sounds along the lines of ChampionsLeague spots, Fith Place, Relegation etc.

    Further ado, Stellings'

Couldnt disagree with more of them ahaha.

    Champions? My arse!!

 Says the Hartlepool fan.....clearly spent too many years watching amateur football in the north east. chelsea champions, man u - 2nd, shite - 3rd, gunners - 4th(just).....man city 7th or 8th. Burnley, Wolves & portsmouth - relegated. Best Buy, Valencia.

  7. Ok. Look fellas your a decent bunch of fans but i'm getting a bit tired of writing something, Being complemented or just getting into a decent debate, just for some silly twat to then write some utter bollocks about City still being shit, or how Our success isn't guaranteed. Because i genuinely believe it is. if you look at our squad now just compared to a season ago. And then last seasons to the season before. Nobody can deny what is happening at City is remarkable!!! Our current first team reads....Given...Richards, Toure, (A.N. Other class CB, not bought yet but will be), Bridge.......Robinho, Barry, Ireland, SWP.....Adebayour, Tevez. plus another load of top class squad players (Onouha, Kompany, Zabaleta, Dunne, Garrido, Petrov, De Jong, Johnson, Santa Cruz, Bellamy). If you genuinely don't believe city are gunna be awsome then you have real problems. People may talk about Gelling, But be honest. Do any of you REALLY think that team won't Gell??? City are the future. Everybody knows it. But nobody will dare admit it. Is that the City fan Arrogance/Ego you all rant about???

One other point. Will for it as much as you want. Even yearn for it. But when you look at United, Chelsea, Liverpool, Arsenal and now City. Do You Evertonians REALLY Genuinley believe you can break the Top4 and stay there. Competing for the Top prizes in England and Europe year in, year out. Well actually yes. You probably do. Because you have to. But in the Really Real world.....No! without a massive Investor Pumping Silly money into your club.

And therein lies the root of why me and mine keep taking so much shit from All and Sundry. You can say what you like but we all know 80 - 90% of all abuse directed at City and it's fans is based on Envy and Fear.

So i will leave you to think i am Delusional. And be assured i think your rather delusional yourselves.

    Add your Rants below....

But there is only one team to have broken the top 4 in the last 6 or seven seasons - and they did it with a worse team than they have now, and without a massive Investor Pumping Silly money into [the] club.....can you guess who it was??????

  8. I think that he is free to play in them unless we draw man city as he can't play against his parent club. I haven't heared of any clause in his loan agreement but we will soon find out....we might expect him to play but then spurs swoop at the last minute and get him to play for them in the carling cup 2nd round.....

  9. For your info lad. I was stood in the Kippax when City were in the third tier of English football. And we were still getting 35,000 fans every game. I've been a true blue for 25 years. I was even born and raised on the very Lane that the COMS is now on (Hulme Hall Lane)

Moyes (who i rate very highly) talks about loyalty and principles. He won't allow Lescott further his career mainly for those reasons. Yet we shall see just how loyal he is when United offer him old Bacon faces job when he retires. He'll have no such issues or hang ups then. You won't see his arse for dust.

You say We are Inflating the market for other teams? Nonsense. If that was the case then Senderos (who you will get for 3 to 5 Million) would end up costing 10 to 12 Million. A lot of managers complain City are "blowing clubs out of the water" when it comes to transfers. Of course they don't like this. But apparently Moyes wants city to "Blow them out of the Water" to get Lescott!!! Hypocrites. £30 million for an average CB, Keep dreaming. Tell me one thing that We are doing that your own club (or anyone else's for that matter) wouldn't do in our situation.

We have offered good money for a lad who obviously wants to move on. That money would have gone a long way to improving your own team. Everton will regret Moyse's foolish stubbornness before City will. We will simply move on to Upson (who is better defensively anyway) Personally now i would rather burn the Money that let that greedy Scotch freak of Nature profit from it.

P.S. If you think City will only manage a top 10 finish this season you're nuts. Pretty much every one has us penned for 5th place. And to be honest. i think we can probably do even better. Everton Are Widely tipped to finish 6th to 8th.....Nuff said.

Indeed Moyes will more than likely end up at Old Trafford, particularly if we are still banging our heads against the 'sky4' ceiling, but his motivation for leaving would be more justified than lescotts given that City are not in europe and there is no guarantee they will be successful - they might, but its all perceived success whereas it's proven success at utd.

The market is inflated when a club bids £100M (kaka), £80M (Ronaldo) £56M (kaka) etc...other clubs then say 'my player is better than him (as we did with Lescott vs Johnson) so you must pax X million'.....8 million for Delph??, likewise Naughton?? are prime examples of an over-inflated market. With the lescott situation, it is smply EFC trying to out-price any potential buyers because we simply do not want to sell him. I dont think the club truly think he is worth more than what Rooney was.

Finally, i've no idea where teams are gonna end up this year - too many ifs and buts...I think we will be 6th with a good run in europe and one of the cups...city will replace fulham in the european race which will also involve villa and spurs. The papers are just mssing the fact that city are still missing a defence which i feel will ultimately cost them this season....but good luck to everyone.

On a final more quirky note, at least you know city will be on first on MOTD every week.....

  10. C.T.I.D....you asked:

You say he tries to bully clubs and acts disrespectfully in regards to our transfer policy. How so?

This is probably because with Man Citys newfound ego, they now seem to air their transfer business through the media, and it ends up that the media generate such a hysteria that the player(s) being targeted can't help but get brainwashed into thinking that a move to eastlands is what they want/need so effectively, playersand clubs are being brainwased(bullied) to submission by the media....its like the champs lge, the media hype it up so much, that people actually believe that it is a good competition when we all know its all a load of commercialised nonsense (this may cause some debate but hey, thats what a forum is for)

  11. 13.00 Skysports.com understands Hull's pursuit of Ross McCormack has been held up by the involvement of a third party.

12.50 Tony Pulis has voiced his irritation over the way agents have held up his attempts to bring in new players.

Seems we are not the only club having problems completing transfers...and maybe this is what is tripping us up i.e. naughton/walker deal
