  1. Rafael van der Vaart and Boudewijn Zenden were in the Dutch version of Match of the Day yesterday. The show host asked them about Johnny Heitinga and though van der Vaart only said that "he himself really liked Heitinga and would love him at Tottenham" they were sort of implying Tottenham could be interested. They were winking and stuff.

So Duffy off to Ipswich on loan, Yobo has left the country, Arsenal want Jags and Tottenham want Heitinga?

I sure hope that Beckford is a better defender than a CF as thats were he will play soon.

  2. Got me eye on Tony Hibbert to see what he's gonna do for his 1st goal celebration-think running in the gladys street and downing a pint would be fitting or a crowd surf around the ground

Would be so cool if he just blasts one into the top corner and turns around walking away, with no emotions what so ever. Cause cool guys dont look at explosions

  3. Tim Cahill has contacted Barton via twitter to congratulate him on being in the running for national duty. Why would Tim out of the blue respond to a tweet that Barton sent out? Buttering him up?

  4. I feel silly for actually entering a discussion on this, but in my opinion Zlatan Ibrahimovic has got everything you can ask from a striker. He's tall and powerful and can play with his back towards the opposition's goal and keep hold of the ball. If his team mates play a long ball he can win the aerial duel. He's got an incredibly powerful strike on goal. He's creative and has got fantastic ability on the ball. Plus he's an entertainer:

Stats don't lie either I guess. 16 goals and 9 assists in 29 La Liga games (a goal every 127 minutes) and 94 goals and 41 assists in 187 Serie A games (a goal every 159 minutes). Another interesting piece of trivia: he's been league champion with whatever club he's been at 9 times and for 8 years straight now (though he's lost two titles due to Calciopoli scandal that stripped Juventus of two titles).

Thank you, i agree. Although i might be biased as im swedish, but i think that Ibra is one of the best strikers

  5. I've been disappointed with Cahills inconsistency over the last few seasons.

Scoring goals is great, but I don't think he has a big enough impact on the rest of the game enough of the time.

Impact sub for me until he improves.

It's difficult to say who the most important player is, but we have no leadership without Neville on the pitch, and that concerns me.

Totally agree. Neville is our leader. Rodwell might be the one to take over but thats a few years away now.

  6. Belgian Marouane Fellaini is a demanding cog in Everton's defensive midfield, the Frenchman Sylvain Distin a physical monster in the back line, Russian Dinijar Biljaletdinov an irrational polecat on the left, the Spaniard Mikel Arteta a creative link between midfield and attack, and American Tim Howard all that is usually safe in case . But there is one player who makes the Foreign Legion in The Toffees complete. "As Lampard ' Australian Tim Cahill's only Tim Cahill, but on the other hand, no one else like him. 178 cm tall is he doing more goals with his head than almost any other, and 31-year-old gives everything in every race, in every duel, in each match. - He makes goals for Everton as Lampard does for Chelsea, maybe not as many, but he has done so for over five or six years now. He scores every season and is extremely important to us, said his coach David Moyes last winter. Was criticized And it is not surprising that Moyes is satisfied. Everton paid just 1.5 million pounds for the Cahill was leaving Millwall in 2004 and already the first season he became the team's top scorer. And then he continued. More durable, more targets and each time a distinctive celebration when he fires jabs against one corner flag. For three and a half ago, he was however, noticed and criticized for having begun a målfirande to run with crossed arms for the cameras before he went to the corner flag - a way to illustrate hands are cuffed and a greeting to his brother who had been sentenced to six years in prison for an aggravated assault. "For my brother" Cahill asked quickly apologized and explained: - I am aware that my celebration after the goal against Portsmouth on Sunday created a lot of attention. It was not my intention to stir up people's feelings and I would wholeheartedly apologize to those who took offense. It was a spontaneous and emotional reaction and a way to tell my brother that I think of him and miss him. Everton quickly supported the Australian and said: - There was obviously something very personal

  7. But if the commodity you want buy is worth 25 it's not common sense it's a piss-take.

Using the used car analogy (as elsewhere on the site) if I've got a 2002 Porsche 911 turbo with a book price of £25,000 and someone offers me £10,000 I'm going to laugh in their face, as I will at £15,000. At £20,000 I might enter serious negotiations.

Buy low sell high for sure but don't insult the people you want to do business with.

    Is your Porsche that old?

  8. Surely we should be looking to offload Yakubu or Yobo as part of this deal? Wigan are crap at the back with two of the worst centre backs to grace the Premier League and International football (The Caldwells) and someone like Yobo would be a perfect signing for them.

They are also shite at putting the ball in the net which Yakubu could help solve. He may not be the player he was but he is better than most of their strikers.

Ok so the stumbling block will be with regards to wages but NZogbia is going to be on a fair whack and would cover one of these easy I would have thought.

Seems like both clubs could help each other out so to speak.

Very good point. Hopefully they have offered them as part payment. Actually makes a lot of sense to both clubs.

  9. Seems a sensible and financially sound strategy to me. Buy low and sell high, the No.1 principle of business.

Good luck to Wenger for applying some logic and sense to a world of stupid transfer fee's. As long as we reject every offer below £20 million i don't really care what he does.

I agree, if you are willing to buy at 20, you offer 10 and hope to get at 15. Common sense. If we do get 20 then i say go for it. I also feel that we are covered at cb. 20 Will get us a couple of fairly big names at positions where we need them. (lw and striker) id however prefer it if yobo, ani, yak and bily were sold but jags is the best of the worst selling options.
