  1. Anyone seen McGeady in this half? My streams crap but not heard his name or seen him with the ball.

Had a couple decent quick passes in some of our counters that fizzled out with Rom. Been pretty anonymous, but at least been decent when he gets the ball.

  2. I know Moyes signed him but he never played. My comments were in relation to the previous ones about Barkley (only coming through under Martinez)

Yes, this is fair; it definitely says something about Martinez's ability to bring youngsters through the side. However, if we're thinking that Martinez needs to strengthen our squad over the winter for our results to improve then it's somewhat irrelevant. Not irrelevant for Bobby's quality as a whole, but I do think there is a valid point to be made about how his signings have panned out.

  3. He's been shit all season mate not just the last 3 or 4 games.

I didn't say he wanted to bail because of that I said I have his head has been turnedmeaning since the summer.

Ok, I see what you're saying. I agree he's been shit all season, but for me earlier in the season it just felt like a run of bad form, not being distracted or anything. He still looked high confidence earlier in the season for me, but I guess agree to disagree on that one, since there isn't any way to know unless a move really materializes.

  4. Dunno, just a feeling I get that his head and possibly heart isn't on the job.

Tapped up maybe? Probably bollocksbut it's just a feeling I get with him. He doesn't look happy or like he's enjoying himself here.

That seems to be based on 3-4 games max where the entire squad is low on confidence. Also, against Hull he was one of few players actually working and trying to right the ship. Yeah, he's definitely not happy losing like we are now, but that doesn't mean he just wants to bail.

  5. Honestly, not sure the praise for Barkley here. He's running at the defense, but he's lost the ball prematurely every time and is letting them counter, which is what they're set up to do with Tadic, Schneiderlin, and Wanyama out. They have no central midfield at all and I think we should be trying to dominate play in that area and then spread it out to Coleman and Baines, who are looking fine to me. Barkley repeatedly making runs through the middle and losing it is not working.

  6. Has anyone actually seen Browning at centre half? Stones came with lots of Championship experience, albeit the majority at RB. But that is itself would have given him experience in a competitive league.

The way people are talking is as though Distin is shite. He's far from it.

Agreed. I think people are also a little spoiled by Stones. The kid is one of the best center back prospects in the world and still was a little shaky at times. By all accounts Browning is also good for his age, but I don't think we should expect him to be near Stones' level.

  7. I've just never seen anything to get so excited about. He has odd flashes of brilliance here and there, but then so does Mirallas and you don't see him being sold for 65m! Just looks like United are buying big names without thinking things through.

I think Di Maria is absolutely brilliant, but he's not really the right signing for United. He doesn't fit into the wingback system van gaal has been trying to implement and he doesn't shore up their back line, which is the obvious, glaring weakness.

  8.

    Not a stupid question.

9/10 will be supporting the "foreigners" I'd say, particularly when the English club is one of the monied elite. Wigan/Hull etc playing in Europe I wish then well but the "big" teams I want to crash and burn every time.

For me it depends a little more than that, but I would say it's accurate in general. I will on occasion support a team like Arsenal, for example, since I appreciate the way they play and do business. For most of the big teams this is not true. But since we're playing Arsenal this weekend I wanted them to crash and burn as well :).

Edit: Welcome to the best club in the world, badger!

  9. Feels like Jagielka is untouchable by Evertonians. Stones shouldn't be getting grief because Captain no composure losses his man. Jags is to keen to go in for the lunge and it's his partner that always gets the blame when he doesn't do his job.

Honestly, both were poor. I think you're right that Jags was more at fault for the goal because he lunged in like that. But Stones gave the ball away multiple times at the back and looked prone to making costly errors that have happened to him a couple of times now.

  10. New Everton fan here from DC. I have always really enjoyed soccer but never really made it a priority in TV watching until last year. Attached to cable after 5 years without so now I can see most games. Happy to read and chat with fellow travelers here.

Lifelong Everton fan from DC here! Welcome, best club in the world :).

  11. FUCK OFF these have to be one of the luckiest sides ever. Every bounce has fell straight to there player.

That's what happens when you can't prevent the initial ball from coming in though. Eventually the ball will bounce around and find someone if you let it come in enough.
  12. Naismith has another Mom for me, still fighting and chasing and about the only player that doesn't look scared of the ball at the moment.

Agree 100%. Only player that's been consistently in a good position, finding space, and fighting for the ball.
  13. On the bright side it looks like McCarthy is starting to impose himself more in this half. Protected our defense a couple of times and great engine to bring the ball out of the back where we look suspect clearing it.

  14.

I believe it's a combination of experience with the condition and medication.

He's also talked in the past about how playing actually lessens the effects. I know for many with tourettes pure concentration on a task can minimize the tics. I wouldn't be surprised if it's more noticeable off the field, although he has obviously learned to manage it well in general.
