Why am I the only one who would prefer a second place finish?! That would be an extraordinary achievement and guarantee CL football.
Because the others all get you champions league, plus a title. In my mind, 4th-2nd are the same for most intents and purposes. I would obviously prefer 2nd to 4th, but it's not worth close to a title to me.

I like this player, breaks up play really well. It's not anything special, but he gets the job done incredibly consistently and that's what you want from a squad player.

Welcome, from yet another American. You've picked the best club in the world.

What got you into Football?
Really always have been. It was the first sport I was ever paying, both organized and unorganized and continued to play for club and school for many years. I think some if it has to do with my dad's family being from Spain. He's enough generations removed that he doesn't really speak spanish or visit Spain often, but it meant I grew up in a house where soccer was the sport. It wasn't strange for me to enjoy watching it or playing it; it was what I was already surrounded by. Soccer was incredibly popular as a youth sport, so it wasn't hard for me to find other people to play with either.
What American sports do you enjoy?
Soccer is easily the sport I most enjoy, but I follow a decent amount of other things. I enjoy watching basketball and baseball. These wouldn't be American sports, but I played competitive tennis and squash as well. Absolutely hate american football.
Will football (soccer) finally become a major thing in USA after the exploits of this world cup, in your own opinion?
It's already relatively successful. I think that's partially due more to the success of TV deals than anything else. Just this year I know many more people watching EPL games after NBC picked them up. It won't ever surpass american football, but as the MLS gets better its popularity will continue to increase. It's often seen as a kids sport, but as others have said those kids then usually go on to be multi-sport athletes or switch to something else. Once soccer gains a little bit more legitimacy that will happen less and then the youth infrastructure will already be in place.
Which are the most popular EPL teams in USA (Or Canada for that matter)?
Man U, Chelsea, Liverpool. Some Arsenal as well.
This is not EPL, but I see a lot Barca around too. -
Keepers do not create movement in my trousers. Let me know when he gets onto messi
It sounded like he thought messi was pretty good, I don't know though, that may just be me.

practical question: Is it pronounced "Day Oolofay oh" or "Doilofay oh" or "Dyoolohfay" or whatever else you can make of it?
first one.

The awareness is definitely growing. I'm a lifelong American everton fan, but now when I wear my stuff around people actually recognize it and will start a conversation. That never used to happen.

My pet team on Fifa is always celta (like to bring up lower league teams), so I've played with him significantly, but never seen him in real life. For what it's worth, he was probably their best player.

I like In Bruges, haven't seen the others. Good to see someone else who liked the man who wasn't there, I've also met few people who really did, although it's more unknown to be fair.

Raising Arizona stands out for me
Really? I had a teacher who said the same thing, but I just don't see it. Granted it's good, but not on the level of lebowski, fargo, o brother where art thou, the man who wasn't there, and true grit for me.
-
Yeah, the Coen brothers are awesome. It's in my top, but I would have a hard time choosing. What would you say yours is?
-
Lebowski is amazing, definitely worth watching.

I consider myself somewhat of a movie "aficionado," but I have never really been able to get too in depth in Kubrick. Strangelove is one of my all time favorites, but for some reason still haven't gotten around to clockwork orange and 2001.

I think vic was extremely solid for the first 25 minutes or so, when he was hustling everywhere and getting involved. After that, though, he seemed to drop off, which I attribute to the heat most likely.

I was there and had a great time. There seemed to be far more everton fans there and those that attended were certainly more enthusiastic than the dc fans. I mostly agree with Bailey's analysis, although I thought bily was worse than he admitted. Mcalaney also really impressed me.
-
I live in DC, so pretty pumped to be going. It is just a friendly, so I'm not expecting much, but it's only the second time I've actually been able to see everton live, despite being a pretty huge fan. Will be sporting the everton apparel proudly!

Weevil, have the capitals had a major re-branding in recent years? Plus have they acquired some investment? They seem like they're becoming a major player in todays game but prior to my limited knowledge of the game anyway, i hadn't heard much about them.
They did have a huge rebranding after the lockout. Changed their team colors, symbol, etc.. They also got ovechkin with the first draft pick in that year and he promptly won MVP (most valuable player) multiple times. So because they finally had a star player and were rebranded they started getting a lot more ticket sales and interest.
-
Washington Capitals. I've lived in DC my whole life, plus they're the only good team in our city so everyone loves them. And Ovechkin is the best player in the league. And yes, Mike, it's very difficult to watch on TV, but the games are unbelievable live. The atmosphere is amazing.

I think it has to be distin or howard, but between those two it's pretty difficult. Howard was insane towards the end, so I'll give it to him.

There was nothing wrong with Nani's goal. 100% gomes' fault.

Just want to point out that I'm American and not like this at all. I'm not a very patriotic person and could not care less about the national team. I was more excited to see lukaku score against the US than I would have been for the US to win.
