  1. I'm not alone! I'm 24 and I can't grow anything resembling facial hair...I've seen old ladies with more formidable mustaches that what I can muster.
  2. And Aussies with Timmy Cahill. He's a national hero after that Japan game in Germany 06!
  3. My vote went to Cahill purely due to some key defencive headers and the closest thing to a goal we had all game. Donovan was also good as was Johnny. With the exception of him giving the golden boy a body check in the first few minutes Neville was woeful and I cringed every time the ball ended up at his feet...most of which were passes from Donovan. But at least Donovan was trying to do something with the ball the best part of the game.(like how he got past the defence in the 2nd a few times) Didn't see Neville do shit. Peanut clearly toned down after dodging a red card and that combined with Fellani getting injured didn't seem to help... All in all, very deflated after watching that...especially since the missus is a Reds supporter.
  4. I imagine that there'd perhaps be more opposition to this from Liverpool since they reckon they could still have a good stadium if they went it alone? Can't see it getting approved by the members if it weren't a deal that had each team with an equal share.
  5. How far along are they anyway? I know they've put it on hold due to the credit crisis thing, but I'm guessing that since they haven't starting digging up Stanley park that they can't be too far progressed in their plans and that changes would still be made. The biggest issue I can see is that LFC could end up being the larger stake-holder due to their better financial backing. Could this be where the Liverpool City Council or the Goverment could step in with funding and even out the share? I would think that with the World Cup potentially coming England that the Government would be willing to help fund any stadium plans. I'd like to know what, if anything, came out of that meeting EFC had with the City Council...the press release was very lacking in details. Most likely intentionally.
  6. I dislike all forms of Rugby(Union isn't as crap as League though), which makes it all the more difficult living in Canberra(Australia). However, I do strongly support the mighty Essendon Bombers which are a Melbourne Aussie Rules team. 16 Premierships and counting! In terms of soccer/football, I don't support any of the A-League teams here...I'm holding out for the FFA to give Canberra a license to have their own team. I've even paid my $200 to be foundation member...but the FFA are cunts and are fucking us around so who knows when that will happen. In the mean-time, I'm supporting any team that plays against Sydney FC. ...and obviously being an Australian I support the Socceroos. Kind of a given though mind you.
  7. Hey, I'm a long time lurker, first time poster...just wondering what you guys think of potentially sharing a stadium with the Red side of town? I'm an Aussie by the way, so I don't have much of an idea of opinions of the supporters up your way and if the sharing option is frowned upon or thought to be a reasonable proposal...especially since the whole Kirby plan fell through. From my perspective, I think it wouldn't be such a bad idea. Would mean both teams would end up with a much larger stadium than if they went it alone, which should in turn mean more profits and would certainly assure that World Cup matches are played there if you guys get 2018. I guess I'm less inclined to think of stadium sharing a bad thing, as here in Australia we've got a number of teams sharing large stadiums across the country for a number of different codes of Football. For example, the Melbourne Cricket Ground(100k seater) has 4 Aussie Rules teams using the stadium as their home ground and just across town, the Docklands stadium(40k) has 5 Aussie Rules teams, an Association Football team using it as their home ground. I also think that if a shared stadium was to happen that it could be themed similar to the Allianz Arena in Munich: But as I said, I've not got a good understanding of the feel on the ground and how either teams supporters feel on the issue, hence the poll above!
