  1. I'm afraid I have absolutely no hope in an Everton victory in this game, partly due to the poor performances in recent games along with Spurs having won more than twice as many games as us so far this season.

I'm guessing 1-2, a scrappy first half 0-0 at half time with Everton opening scoring before 55th minute but Spurs dominating rest of second half to win 1-2.

A good percentage of the Everton fans will leave the ground when the second Spurs goal is scored.

  2. Wayne Rooney has revealed he wants to continue as a manager after his playing days are through. Strange though, he doesn't wish to manage Everton or Man Utd.

    From The Sun;

He said: "I would like to be a manager. That would be my ambition when I finish playing.

"You see the players who have played for Alex Ferguson and gone on to be good managers — I am hoping to do that one day.

"But I wouldn't like to follow the manager here, or start at an Everton or Manchester United.

Can he not think of anything other than his next million pounds?

  3. With an apparent jump in form to draw against Chelsea how do people on here see the game against Wigan?

With Wigan's atrocious goal difference, -15 worse in Premiership, I can see us taking all three points. Providing of course Moyes doesn't play silly buggers with the team selection!

  4. Simply have to win as mentioned.

My team would be similar to Matts:

    ----------Howard

    Neville--Jags--Distin--Baines

    ---------Heitinga

    Vic/Seamie--Rodwell/Bily--Pienaar

    -------Cahill

    --------------Yakubu

I would happily see any one of Rodwell, Bily, Pienaar or Cahill play in the two more attacking roles in the midfield. I would be most tempted to keep Cahill as the most further forward because he has been doing well.

I would definitely sub Saha and Arteta. Although if Arteta was played in a more attacking role then I would keep him there but dropping him wouldnt be a bad thing IMO.

We have the quality to beat West Brom, but the can also score goals and play well. If Yakubu starts we win, if Saha starts we lose.

Certainly not today it wouldn't have been!

  5. If DB came along would Everton continue to play as a team or would every ball be hoofed in to the general direction of him regardless of where other players were? I don't doubt the skill of the current team I'd just be fearful they might fall into the 'Beckham is the best' pit that the media seems to believe constantly!

  6. I think Bailey has hit the nail on the head with this one, 'If Yakubu starts we win, if Saha starts we lose.'

I'm very nervous about this game as WBA, despite having the same number of points as us, have one more victory under their belts. If Moyes chooses a team similar to what Matt and Bailey have suggested then we might just sneak it, providing of course DM doesn't wait until the 80th minute before substituting any players who aren't giving it their all!

  7. I would love to see Goodison redeveloped and it's capacity increased but with houses only 10 metres away on Gwladys Street and Goodison Road and a school alongside on Bullens Road that only really leaves the south side. With the proposed £9m retail, leisure and business development I can't see any ground development being possible without buying a street or two of houses!

  8. After my initial optimism with this game I am getting more and more nervous about it as we get closer!

I'm hoping the recent insecurities at Anfield will have longer lasting effects than their PR is trying have us believe and the international break hasn't slowed our momentum, I'm still thinking we can win this one but it might be even closer than we can imagine!

  9. Well, this is very slightly better than losing but only just.

We might just finish high enought to play in Europe next season but it seems now the result of the Carling Cup tie against Huddersfield will give us a better idea of how the first half of the season could go.
