  1. So on Mersey side would you say it was a fairly even split between Everton and Liverpool with a smattering of Tranmere fans or like Manchester, proper scousers everton fans with a lot of Liverpool coming from elswhere hang on the shirt tails of former glory, Because there seems to be a fair few of those about especially around here, there's one in my Office, born and bred in Ipswich talks like should be selling fertilizer but Loves Liverpool FC, he'd never heard of Ian Rush or Steve Highway and has only been to anfield twice. I was thinking because your 2 grounds are really close, isn't the potential for violence more present, if Tottenham and the Scum were that close it would be kicking off all the time
  2. Spot on, a very nice bloke, at the time he was Norwich's youth team manager and and he lived in the same suffolk village as me and, he used to help out with the local kids team, at the time I had no idea that he would go on to manage Narch and Everton and no idea that his son would go on to play for my beloved Spurs
  3. Yeah I Appreciate that I guess I should have said that I come from the Tottenham Edmonton area hence why I am a Spurs fan, I just can't understand why other than the success he wants to Support them fuckers, traditionally you supported your local team, so for us now it would be Ipswich or Colchester, ok I admit occasionally they play attractive football, but so do the Scum, I was 11in 1976 when we moved to this area and was the only Spurs fan at my school, and most of the other kids were Ipswich fans partly due to them having a fairly good team under bobby Robson, and there was a handful of Leeds and Liverpool fans in the school because at that time they were the 2 best teams, but Forest a couple of years later won the league and the European cup and I don't recall seeing any Forest fans outside of nottingham And I have taken him to few Spurs games and even tried the Local Colchester united and he still wants a fucking united shirt with either Rooney or Nani on the back, he even wants me to take him on the stadium tour of old Trafford He's never been to Manchester He probably has no idea where Manchester is only that it's up north somewhere and that Lowry painted some depressing pictures of life in a cotton mill in manchester only because he did a project on him in school How would you feel if your son wanted to Support Chelsea just because they won the league ?
  4. Obviously our big rivals are Arsenal who we refer to as the Gooners, Scum and all manner of un-savoury insults, some begining with C And I would say it certainly is not friendly banter, and Derby day is not very nice But I have always thought the Mersey side derby a bit more friendlier with no violence and all Jovial banter which is how it should be Now I put this down to it being a southern / Northern thing, everybody knows that generally Northerners are more friendly than southerners and Londoners are generally more aggressive than anyone else ( this is fact by the way ) But how do you view Liverpool ? My dislike for them stems from the late70's when every bloody year they won the title and you would see Bob Paisley and Kevin Sodding Keegan Grinning from ear to ear after another success I would also like to add that I personally bear no supporter of any team any Malice Even arsenal or chelsea but maybe Ipswich
  5. How wrong I am I have just multimapped it and from my house on the coast in Essex to Old Trafford it's only 250.6 miles I would have thought it was much further than that how small this country is I wouldn't wanna walk it though
  6. 65 miles fromWHL to be honest I have no idea how far Manchester is from here but it must be about that I used to drive from Clacton to the Wirral a few times in the early nineties and always used to go down to london then the M1 and M6 as the A14 wasn't there then and it used to take 4 - 4 1/2 hours
  7. Cheers mate There is a lot of pessimism among the Spurs fans this year I am not sure why we bought Peanut, as the world and his wife knew we needed a striker, still do Your'e Jagielka fella would have been a better buy, although he looks like Dawson too much and some of our Chav fans from south essex are easily confused. We have had some great games over the years and one of my most enjoyable moments at the lane was in the mid 90's, we were 2-1 down with 5 minutes to go, when we pulled it back to 2-2 and Darren Caskey came up with the winner well into Injury time, I think around that time the both of us were flirting with relegation I used to talk to one of your old managers, as he was goal keeper for Colchester United at the time. and his son played for Spurs Can you guess who he is ?
  8. I like City as we all ways manage to beat them and we got Mark Hughes the sack. Hate United with a passion well any team in red really My son supports United and we live 400 miles away from manchester glory hunting little toe rag. I have to suffer him wearing a bloody Man U shirt, and what makes it worse is them bastards always beat us, we can play them off the park and they still win

    Hello

Hello From a Spurs Fan living in Essex I Joined as I am friends through Spurs 101 with Rubecula who is a valued contributor to the Spurs 101Forum and and despite being a Spurs fan I hope you make me as welcome here as Rubes is on 101 I see Tottenham and Everton being similar as we have both had glory a long time ago and have to put up with red neighbors that see themselves as better than us but in reality most of them are deluded glory hunters Everton have always beaten us in important a games F A cup semis and one game I remember in the eighties when we actually had a slim chance of winning the title and you beat us at the lane 3-1 with I believe Mr Andy Gray Scoring ( he then went on to sexually harass any woman that took his fancy). Bizarrely there are quite a few Everton fans round here and I am going to Barbecue at ones on saturday, so I am hoping the game is postponed so I don't have to suffer the indignity of losing the first game of the season. I wish you all a good season and currently my I deal season would be Prem 1 Spurs 2 Narch 3 Toffees Relegated The Scum (Arsenal Obviously) Chelsea Man U I would like to see Colchester promoted By the way I've never liked Liverpool and wasn't that impressed with Anfield good atmosphere at goodison mind you that was in the late Eighties,
