  1. Hello! Just a bit of fun, hope you don't mind me asking. If you're on Facebook or Twitter, Kidscan, the children's cancer research charity, is running a little competition for you to win a pair of tickets to your local Cineworld. All you have to do is ReTweet (and Favourite if you like) this tweet and/or share our "infographic" on Facebook Hopefully I've done those links right! Winner will be announced on Monday. We're hoping to make this a regular thing so if we can get more prizes we'll keep doing it. Thank you!
  2. Love Golf? Why not take part in KidsCan's Annual Golf Tournament! Monday 9th June at DeVere Mottram Hall Hotel in Cheshire. De Vere Mottram Hall Championship golf course is set in 270 acres of Cheshire’s finest parkland, located one mile from the picturesque village of Prestbury, and was the host venue for the 2013 European Senior’s PGA Championship. The 7,006 yard 18-hole, Par 72 Championship golf course comprising of magnificent parkland fairways dotted with oak and beech trees and tricky, well-guarded greens is broken up into two contrasting circuits of nine. The front nine, with its impressive back-drop of the 18 Century Hall, gently rolls over meadowland and offers the golfer many chances to make a score. The back nine winds through some lush woodland and is a much more demanding test of golf. Click here to take a closer look. We start the day at 11:30am with hand-carved bacon rolls and fresh coffee, overlooking the golf course from the Thomas Suite. Then, teams will head out for 18 holes of championship golf. Awards will be given for the longest drive and nearest the pin. Finally, after a challenging afternoon on the golf course, we’ll get a chance to relax and socialise in the sun as we enjoy a traditional hog roast prepared by Mottram Hall’s talented chefs. We will round off the evening with presentations and a charity raffle. Join Kidscan in helping children diagnosed with cancer to survive and thrive. For more information, and to register, please e-mail info@kidscan.org.uk

  16. Just so you know what you're helping to vote towards, here's an example of what we could buy with £2,000... THREE Chromatography Columns - High Performance Liquid Chromatography Columns (HPLC) and High Performance Gas Chromatography Columns (HPGC) – used to separate, identify, and quantify compounds. This allows our researchers to analyse new and existing drugs. And ONE Thermal Cycler - This piece if equipment is used to identify children who are at risk of failing to respond to treatment for their cancer. We believe that the response of children to the current best treatments is dependant on a particular protein that is made in the body.
  17. We need your votes! KidsCan are in with a chance of winning £2,000 from Direct Debit but we need your vote! If you don't mind, could you please click this here linkand vote for us? We don't receive any statutory funding for our research so any way we can raise additional funds are brilliant. Thanks everyone
