AGENTSMITH
My brothers ex-girlfriend used to work at G/P in the restaurant & I remember her telling me years ago that she had overed heard execs talking about re-developing G/P but it wouldnt be possible due to the school and the houses near by as it would cost more than building a new ground?? Louis
It probably would cost more overall but my understanding is it could be done in 'bite-size' chunks i.e. when it could be afforded. The Council's leader has said they'd be closing a school in the coming years and if Everton wanted the land, it'd make the decision on which one to close easier. AGENTSMITH
I think its alot of revenue to lose if its done bit at a time. For example if Top Balcony, Family stand etc are closed thats like 20000 tickets -/+ not avaiable for sale
Louis
It's closer to 12,600, but I'd imagine if it's to be done, they'd enlarge the smaller stands first to get more money in first. There are some people who have looked at it in detail and come to the conclusion that in some cases a new stand can be built behind the existing stand to reduce the time that the existing stand is out of use and closed to fans. jcrawfor
there's been loads of threads on this. club is trying to redevelop GP with minimal impact on ticket revenues...could reasonably be done without taking to large a hit.
