Matt
http://www.voetbalkrant.com/nl/nieuws/lees/2012-03-24/everton-en-sampdoria-scouten-bekerfinale Many scouts send a scout, but some notable names are Everton, Leverkusen, Lille,Sampdoria and Roda JC. From Belgium, Anderlecht and Lierse send a delegation to Brussels. The winner of the finale comes right out in the fourth and final qualifying round for the Europa League. In comparison, the number three in the playoff I need two rounds to play. Google translate there, maybe one of our resident Belgians can translate better and explain a bit more? Steve_E
It just says that some of the more notable clubs sending scouts to the Cup final include Everton, Sampdoria, Lille and Leverkusen. And that the winner will be seeded into the fourth and last qualifying round for the Europa League while the team that finishes fourth in the playoffs (we have a weird playoff system after the regular league) will be seeded into the third qualifying round. But it doesn't say anything about a specific player or anything. And I doubt they'll find someone noteworthy. Kortrijk and Lokeren are teams that will be finishing between 6th and 9th in Belgium so they don't really have players ready to make an impact in the Premier League. Matt
cheers Steve. Anyone the scouts should be keeping an eye out for (that we might be able to afford of course!)?
Steve_E
Nah. The only half decent player either team have is Benjamin De Ceulaer, but he's 28 now and has already failed at Feyenoord. To be honest there's only a handful of players in Belgium that I'd have: Vadis Odjidja (FC Bruges), Kevin De Bruyne (Genk, but has already signed for Chelsea), Sinan Bolat (goalkeeper, Standard Liege) and Matias Suarez (Anderlecht). That's about it really.
