Say this though, Michel Platini may not be flavor of the month with some, but what a damn fine player he was. If ever a player was solely responsible for winning a nation a national award, it was him with France in 1984. He was immense. Retired maybe a bit too early, 1986 as an international player, and the following year with Juventus of Turin, but I think he was a player that deserves legendary status.
