  1. for some of us English is our second or third language - so please be tolerant - thanx (hehe)-

Kone should replace Jelavic in the starting line-up for the next 3/4 games - come what may - give the lad a fair chance to settle -

he is much better on the ball than Jelavic and his interplay is also much better -

I still believe he is a much better striker than Jelavic as well -

Jelavic has now played more than 40 hours with 1 goal to show for it - to me that is not a lack of form - but rather a lack of ability - sad to say

That's a lot of football and not a lot of goals for a striker, true. However, he's only played three games this season so far. I know you wrote this before Lukaku signed but all signs point to Lukaku taking over. Don't you think? Just based on what I've seen so far (mostly highlights and the full game against WBA) Kone hasn't been at all impressive. As people mentioned before there were so many chances against Stevenage he should have put away you'd think a pylon (or aforementioned "corpse") would have put those chances away.

  2. He's included in the team of the week by Sky.

This bit really bothers me though

"...the Toffees will be hoping to keep hold of Barkley in the way that they couldn't with players like Jack Rodwell"

Really... because we really missed a beat when we shipped out Rodwell to fill City's bench and the local player quota. The players we couldn't hold onto in recent years are very few far and in between. I thought we really would miss Arteta but we did okay; Pienaar left, saw that he made a mistake and came back; Rooney leaving brought us the core group of players we have today... Lescott fattened up our funds as well. I don't understand what they're on about

  3. but yes it would awesome if we pulled this one off - huge step up from the likes of Osman and Gibbo

Also if Felli stays (probably not but who knows) it would be a great central midfield partnership, no? I mean I guess you could get gibbo/felli combo with honda trailing whoever is up top?

  4. I want to say I would cry out of happiness, but I can only imagine what my girlfriend would say if I started crying at my most vulnerable(during the act). I could see it now.

    Me: Babe I'm getting close.

    Her: Its ok

    Me: Where should I come

Her: ?????(You never can tell what she will say)

At this point I start crying

Her: Babe its ok whats wrong

Me: Its nothing, Love (Yeah I'm an American. I still say love. I picked it up from ya'll and I like it)

    Her: Tell me Babe

Me: Everton signed the best Asian footballer in the world today. His name is Honda

Her: What!?!? I thought something was wrong

Me: No, I am just so happy

Her: You never cry when you are happy. Get off me

    Me: But, I'm not done

Her: Oh, but I am done. You can go come on your Honda.

At this point she pushes me off.

Me: I was really close, and I don't have a Honda anymore. I drive a Volkswagen.

Her: Then come on the F***ing Volkswagen.

Woman never seem to understand true passion am I right?

    Jesus Christ

  5. Aaaaand we're linked again...

To be honest, if we got him for £1-1.5m, even with his injury problems, I'd be happy about it. He scores goals and he provides well for other goal scorers.

...however, he wastes some UNBELIEVABLE chances.

Oh shit, here's the link: http://www.turkish-football.com/news_read.php?id=4775

"Everton scored the fourth fewest goal in the top half of the English Premier League table this season - 55."

Um, we also finished 6th so that's not really an unbelievable stat... lazy piece of journalism. We scored less than only one team below us on the table - Liverpool. Still would be nice to get more goals to finish higher though obviously

  6.

I had to laugh when I read one of the comments in response to that Facebook post: "Only one player from Everton the trophyless team would get into Liverpool and that's Baines but loads of Liverpool players would WALK into Everton". This coming from someone whose team has been below Everton in the table for how many years straight, whose goals were mostly scored by a player who's suspended and wanting to leave, who were knocked out of recent Cup competitions by Oldham and Northampton, and who just sold their biggest ever signing for half-price. The proof of the pudding, as they say, ....

    two seasons...

  7. Finally going to chime in about the new crest. Not the biggest fan but not going to hate on it as much as some Evertonians. I did see some fan mockups elsewhere as well as here and I really like the idea of adding a circle around the badge with the motto.

Found it - I really like this one:

But maybe "Everton" should be taken out of the badge and moved to the circle so that we don't repeat NSNO twice?

  8. Would love to see him join Martinez next season but only if he's going to cost closer to the £10m mark or less than the £15m price tag being mentioned... I do think for £15m and above we can go for a couple of foreigners who will do just as good a job (maybe a bit more high risk high payout) if not better.

  9. I think he would be a useful addition but not for the price that's being floated around... I think we'd do better to spend the money on a promising player who will pay dividends for years to come. And it saddens me to say this but to buy a player who we can potentially sell and make some profit off of.

  10. After watching velios in a few reserve matches i have to admit that although i was a fan in his first season, he has not carried this on and looks like he is struggling with the quality in the u21's. i would expect to see him moving on soon.

Shane Duffy is entering his most important season now, time to step up and show us what he has got. Have to say he is a threat in the opositions box.

Lundstram, cannot wait to watch this guy become our holding midfileder who can pass, shoot and tackle. This guy is a complete footballer, watch out for him. Big fan here.

Barkley, i am so excited to see what this season brings for this guy amd expecting big things.

A bit off topic with Duffy but if Martinez does employ his 3-5-2 formation then Duffy should stand to benefit from playing more? Especially with the talks of Heiting being moved on?

Also agree with most of the people's sentiment that this is a great chance for Barkley to strut his stuff and start cementing his place in the starting XI

  11. You are tested differently as a goalkeeper in Scotland - your concentration is tested. Can you be out of the action for large chunks of the game and still perform when called upon?

As long as we continue playing like we did against Manure and Villa this is key. Also speaking of maintaining concentration while not being involved - I think the reason why De Gea looked so damn good against us was because he was tested often and was involved in the play early. Not sure if he's the best fit for United given that he will rarely be tested so often.

  12. to be fair i'm sure more teams than utd were in for him..and he chose them for money and to win trophies off the back of other players doin the hard work..he knew he wouldn't play much there..yet he could go to the championship and set it alight and become a club hero somewhere..get fit and then see if he can make it back in the prem

But that would be just too damn difficult! Ha ha. I'm glad we didn't sign him; even though he hasn't played regularly in a while but his name alone would probably command wages that would not really be suited to our club.

  13. I do think Newcastle are a very decent side but they certainly punched above their weight last year. I would rate a lot of their players but I must say Mirallas, Obertan would not crack the Everton XI. But then again DM seems to think Captain Phil is starting XI material so who knows?

  14. Really was some of the worst officiating I've seen. No excuse for how unbelievably wasteful we were or how sloppy we were defensively. Didn't help that the ref didn't give free kicks when we should have had them and did give them when we were already 30 yards down the pitch. Not having Gibson in there, we really lose those incisive through balls that help us be so direct.

Yeah exactly how I feel. I feel like I would be even more depressed if the officiating was fair though...

Time for Neville to retire me thinks, especially with our new signings, there is no need for him to be anywhere near the first team

His time to retire was a few years ago. Did he not come out and say that he wanted to play into his 40s? What a joke. Some athletes just need to know when to call it a day.
