  1. Gibbo doesn't look very good but I'm impressed with our attacking players. Captain Phil hasn't looked awful surprisingly.

De Gea... he looks good thus far.

How was Jelly not given a penalty in the opening few minutes when Valencia just tackled him down wrestling style!?

  2. Olympiakos fans seem to be gutted about losing him, yet very nice about it which is cool to see.

I take it that he was well loved.

User by the name of GreekLunatic (yes, you are) says:

I hope Everton is a stepping stone for a bigger club for Mirallas.

Perhaps, but I'm looking forward to Mirallas make his mark in the EPL and grow with EFC over the years.

I don't think I've been so excited about a signing since... Jelavic! Hasn't been too long now then, eh? Like the direction our club is going!

  3. they offered 12m for fletcher at wolves so they must be loaded...

as for maggie i kind of agree with the comments above..hasn't come on like i thought he would..no doubt the kid has some talent i just question his ability to be a match winner...we are beyond the days of a kevin kilbane..i would hope anyways as much as i loved kevin as a bloke and a player

and avin johnson would be a great option on the wing..like a drenthe but with a bit more match winning ability imo

But he will never match Drenthe's antics and eccentric character that's for sure.

Wonder if he's only leaving if it's a permanent deal? At least this article makes it sound like Mancini would prefer to move him on a permanent basis rather than on loan?

  4. Heitinga's been a total disaster every time he's played in midfield....madness.

And could he not stand over the ball in FK situations? He's not fooling anyone. Oh, same goes for captain Phil. Neither of them should stand anywhere near the ball in those situations.

  5. The season kicks off today and the third kit has still not been made available.

I know I moan about it every year but one year I hope the club get it out in time and send it into Electronic Arts so that it can be in FIFA.

Ha ha, FIFA is your worry for the third kit not being made officially available?

  6. You English people always seem to think (or is it really hope?) Newcastle are shit. I remember plenty on here saying the same thing before last season. Reality is that they've got plenty of stand-out players (Krul, Coloccini, Tioté, Cabaye, Ben Arfa, Cissé), a couple of good ones (Ba, Jonas...) and they've further strenghtened their squad without selling anyone. Vurnon Anita for one is a really good holding midfielder. I believe they'll be right up there and we'll have to perform really well to best them.

You know, watching the game right now against Tottenham, they're not bossing them around but they look good for their money. I'd wait for them to string together a couple more of strong displays before I consider them to be a serious threat to our European place finish hopes. Random observation: Pardew just pushed the assistant referee and got dismissed from the dugout. Bad form

  7. Still havent got a RB though, and our left side is our best asset, bainsy and peanuts should cause havoc on Monday. RVP and Rooney is a potentially lethal partnership, but like you say they are struggling in CM (kagawa will probably help) and at RB they have Rafeal who is shite IMO and Phil Jones and Smalling who are both CB's IMO, so they still need to strengthen i think.

That 4-4 draw last season we ran Rafael ragged. I'm hoping for most of the same

  8. Compare Fellaini's record a few seasons ago whilst adjusting to the Premiership, and even last year Baines was carded 7 times.

From what I remember most of the cards Baines received last year were from intentional foul as the last defender to prevent a scoring chance. He knew full well what he was doing. That's taking a calculated risk, not playing dirty

  9. Hell, I'd be surprised if he signs for us! I think he is using us as a smoke screen to get a true picture on if the Arse are really serious on signing him. Mind you it is nothing different to what I would do, but still!!!!shaking%20fist.png

Yeah with him apparently being a self-professed Arsenal supporter and all. But to be honest, how does he think he will break into the Arsenal side given the competition. Look at CY Park they signed last year - no attacking options at various points in the year but got what, 6 minutes of game time? He was also a very highly touted player at the time of transfer.
